Settling In

The yearling had been led to his new home, his job as a soldier explained along the way. It was time to get settled in, he’d wandered through the two territories that Ashen had claimed as theirs, swimming between the islands but eventually he returned to the mainland, to the glowing stream of water. The boy would sigh softly, not wanting to disturb the magical quality that the land possessed, he felt far more comfortable here than on the islands. He was tired of having to swim everywhere- even if it was much shallower and shorter than the swim to Lirim. Sandor would turn away from the glowing pool and move a short distant away, before beginning to dig against a tree. His armor rattled as he dug, eventually frustrating him and causing him to stop digging to take it off. He wasn’t accustomed to wearing armor, and he’d been wearing it all day. Slipping out of it, he let it fall gently to the ground, clattering as it went before finally falling silent. Huffing, he would continue digging his den, carefully navigating the thick roots at the base of the tree as he hollowed out a spacious nook for himself, his armor and any herbs that he collected. Of course, there was always room for another wolf, but for now, he was alone and he liked it that way. "open to anyone in Ashen <3" |

Venom spent much of her time near the shrine, though her den was near the palace on the big island the young Princess felt closer to her father here. She walked quietly through the pale trees as she caught the scent of someone unfamiliar. Her mother returned with a new warrior recently. At least that was what she said, though Venom trusted her mother she wasn’t impressed at first glance.
Her white gloved paws were silent as she made her way forward and stopped far enough away from the boy that he wouldn’t take her sudden appearance as a threat. However much she desired to test his mettle. Venom cocked her head curiously as she looked him over, he’d dropped his armor and now he was working on what she assumed would be his den. Venom flicked her forked tongue in continued curiosity but she remained quiet. The Klein princess wished to see what his reaction would be and how long it took him to notice her.

He wasn’t sure how long he had been watched, but as he dug an unsettling feeling crept up on the young wolf, his fur bristling slightly as he stopped digging and lifted his head alertly. Head turned to look around, amber eyes focusing on a wolf that could only be described as a Deathbelle child. She bore a resemblance to the Empress that was (as far as he was concerned) undeniable. Except for the forked tongue that flicked out, every so often…that was…weird….creepy even. “Uh... hello. I’m Sandor.” He greeted, trying to shrug off the feeling of being watched and just the overall creepy vibe he got from the girl. "open to anyone in Ashen <3" |

Eventually the boy looked up to her, there was recognition in his gaze. She hadn’t met him but if he knew her mother he knew who she was. Venom and her sisters were all near clones of their mother. She unnerved him, and the fact made her lips pull back in an amused grin, coupled with her forked tongue it didn’t help her image any. That was all well and good to the princess.
”Hello.” She returned, stifling another flick of her tongue as she stepped closer. ”I’m Venom.” The young Klein moved fluidly, her purple pink stare observing the hole he was digging. ”You’re new to Ashen.” And oh so obviously not a Klein. Usually newcomers were aunts or uncles. They didn’t often get vagabonds.

His unease only seemed to amuse her, but Sandor would shrug it off for the time being. He couldn’t blame her for trying to unnerve him, it was a fun game to play- or so he imagined…he hadn’t really played that game but then again, he didn’t have the same physical features she did. Instead, he only smiled at her amused grin, ears coming forward to listen as she introduced herself as Venom…well…that was an interesting name, and it suited her with that forked serpent-esque tongue. The youth moved fluidly forward, peering at the hole was digging before making an obvious statement. “I am….” He trailed, head tilting slightly. “You act as if you’ve never met a new packmate before.” He’d observe aloud, pointing out her less than normal mannerisms when it came to meeting someone new. Especially someone that was in the same pack. "open to anyone in Ashen <3" |

He was hesitant, but at least he could shrug off his unease as she stepped forward. She didn’t quiz him, only stated her observation and he hesitantly agreed. He was indeed new to the Empire. Though she’d never really labeled it with words he was very correct in his assessment. Other than new uncles and aunts she hadn’t met a new pack member. The reason was her belief in her family’s superiority. In her elevated status. She was crown princess, descended from the god Abraxas and the great family Klein. Those facts laid the foundation for who she was and how she responded to new faces.
She enjoyed unnerving him and throwing him off because she was his better. ”There aren’t many who join that don’t share my last name.” She explained simply as she kept her thoughts to herself. ”You are not a Klein.” Her tongue flicked again as she stated more obvious facts. ”Do you fight?” She questioned, wondering suddenly if she might get some exercise out of him.
