Natha had been tense and keyed up the past week. She hadn't caught any sign of the rest of the gang and she was hoping she'd heard instructions correctly. There was also the fact that Boreas was in rougher shape than she'd expected. Of course she hadn't expected the flipping volcano to erupt. Seeking some physical release she ambled onto the Battlefield where wolves gathered to spar. If she was honest with herself, her dismal performance the last time she'd battled a wolf here had lead her to doubt her skills. Was she really a skilled enough fighter against wolves to be an asset?

There was no better time than the present to find out and so she tipped back her head and yowled a challenge, seeking to find a wolf who would be willing to fight her.

Azure in his lust for self-improvement had harassed and harassed his mother to allow him to wander freely to the battlefield, to be allowed to spar with others and get himself bloodied with knowledge and learning. His mother told him time and time again that he was too young, too underdeveloped and that to pick a fight with anyone aside from his siblings would be a horrible loss. It didn't stop him from bothering her, and after a few days of begging Zee finally had enough. His mother brought him to the battlefield, schooling him on the proper way to go about the fight on the way there. It was difficult for her to bring him, knowing surely that he had no chance in battle against any grown creature. However she was not stupid enough to think he would not seek out opponents of his own accord, and rather then have him have his first spar alone with no adult to watch over him and clean his wounds she agreed to let him find humility in the battlefield. For every ounce of dread his mother felt, Azure had double the excitement. He saw himself as a fierce warrior, able to take down even the largest of opponents just like his father. She nodded her head towards the cat to gesture him forward and he left her behind on the sidelines. With confidence the boy stepped up to meet the stranger, grinning madly. "I'm Azure, can I have this dance?" He lowered himself in a mock bow, and then scrambled quickly towards her to start the match. Without instruction he was left to his instincts, and his instincts told him to bite for whatever he could reach. His jaws opened wide and he aimed to grasp them upon the cat's left shoulder. There was definitely something in the water. Natha gazed curiously at the youth and his mother that had wandered into her midst. The woman had horns and the boy had spikes, fangs and paws that were far, far too familiar. Paws like a bear. She was getting rather sick of bears but at least she knew what to expect and this would be good practice. She was quickly learning about all the odd mutations the wolves of this new land held and she'd make sure to inform Shorty and the rest of the gang so that they were prepared.

She smiled politely and nodded. Quickly setting her defenses for in a moment the battle had begun. The boy sprang at her and deciding to try something a little different she quickly flopped on her right side, her claws unsheathing as she sought to strike the boy across the face with her left paw, seeking to bat his jaws away before they could do damage.

Azure was incredibly confident that his bite would land, rip, tear, and the cat would surely give up. When it didn't happen, he stood for a moment paralyzed with confusion. It only lasted a short while, as the cat's paw struck him across the face. Instinctually he snarled at the attack, stumbling back a pace from the cat who was flopped onto her side. So was this how a spar worked? Azure took his turn, then the cat took her turn, now it must had been Azure's once more. Hopefully the cat wouldn't dodge this time, it wasn't fair when she got to land blows and Az was unable to. He roared with as much puppy energy as he could, throwing himself down upon the cat with his arms outstretched. He aimed to utilize the tiny spurs that extended from his elbows, wanting to jam them hard upon the belly of his opponent.   Azure Keres Fatalis vs Natha for Spar. Natha's paw succeeded in striking the boy across the face and she grinned, her short, stubby tail wiggling. Ok, so the pup was kind of cute. He seemed so surprised. This would be a good lesson for him. Taking advantage of his moment of stunned surprise Natha bounced onto her feet and dove between the boys front legs. However, her timing was rather unfortunate. Just as she dove underneath him he dove forward and down and his weight was thrust down upon her. Oh rats, she didn't want to be squished! She managed to turn her head and took aim at biting at his belly, her legs kicking as she attempted to maneuver her attack.
