Quietly Zabrina picked her away across the plains. Today was the first day she was exploring on her own. She'd eaten her fill of rabbits and napped like nobody's business, and now it was time to take everything in without Sirius' guidance. So far exploring on her own was different. Since she could set her own pace she was free to pike along through the interesting bits and gloss over the boring stuff. And being a pack made up grown ups there was an awful lot of boring stuff to skip over.
She paused beside a patch of flowers. With their white petals and happy yellow middles they were awfully pretty. Zabrina glanced around to make sure no one was looking and then carefully picked one of the flowers. She settled down with the small daisy held gently between her paws. After a bit of play she realized she could twirl it around if she rolled the stem from paw to paw. It was a neat little trick but eventually the rough treatment caused the stem to fall apart leaving her with just the flower and a tiny, nubby stem. There was only one thing to do with it then.
Zabrina balanced it on her paw, ducked her head and tried to put the flower behind her ear. The stem was a bit too short so each time she straightened up after getting it in the right place it rolled down the back of her neck and she was forced to retrieve it with a huff.

Zee knew it wouldn't be long now, the pups were active within her and her stomach was swollen past comfortable proportions. Even simply walking seemed to be a chore lately, and though she wanted nothing more then to stay comfortable in her den until her children came she knew she might be enjoying her last few days of freedom for a little while. While Sirius did not expect her to patrol in her state, Zee found herself lapping the Tall Grass Plains regardless. It would be just her luck that the condor might return and swoop up the Armada's small members the moment she decided to lay down to give birth.
A rustle ahead of her caught her attention and she crouched low to thread through the foliage towards the sound. One of the few benefits to a plains full of long grass, a small wolf like Zee could hide herself easily and at almost all times. As she pushed through the grasses she caught the sight of one of their newest members - a young pup Sirius had found lost and alone. Her lips pulled down in a sympathetic frown as she watched the girl. Was she truly alone in this world?
The queen stepped out and towards the girl, clearing her throat softly as to not startle her. "The stem is too short." She noticed aloud, peering over across the flowerbeds to find an intact one that matched the colors the pup had chosen. Zee moved to retrieve the new daisy, snipping it with care to a length where the stem could hold within her fur. "May I?" She offered the girl a smile, stepping close enough so that if she wished Zee could place it behind her ear for her.

Zabrina was on the verge of throwing the flower away in frustration when Zee's voice reached her ears. She glanced back quickly, the flower falling from her head, to get a look at who was talking to her. Of course Zabrina's eyes were immediately drawn to the horns. They stayed fixed there as Zee approached and didn't move until the replacement daisy was offered. Zabrina's gaze slid to the flower and settled on it shyly. It was safer to look at the flower than the woman's eyes. Why Zee was harder to look at than Sirius was beyond Zabrina, but she was. Maybe it was the niceness. Sirius had been nosing around something of hers and that had demanded a confident response. This lady, however, was doing something nice. Perhaps the feisty girl simply didn't know how to respond to that.
Her ears dropped back and she nodded shyly before leaning over to Zee so she could reach Zabrina's ear better. First she'd gotten a rabbit from Sirius, a place to stay and now a flower. This was a really cool place. Maybe when her mom came back Zabrina could convince her to stay.

Zee was careful to not get too far into the girl's space, moving to place the flower behind her ear at the shy nod and then shifting back a bit to observe the placement. "Perfect, it nearly matches you own beauty." She praised, giving the pup a soft smile. Sirius had not told her much about Zabrina, only that he'd found her and convinced her to come back home with them. He assumed she was an orphan, and it saddened Zee to think such a young child could ever be abandoned. "My name is Zee, I like flowers too." She offered the information easily and with warmth in her voice. Not wanting to prod too hard to the girl who seemed quite shy, Zee did not ask a name in turn. If the girl wanted to offer it she'd think it a step in the right direction, but if she wanted to keep her secrets that was okay too.
