Caelia let out a faint sigh as she traversed over the vast field, unsure exactly where her paws were taking her. Her conversation with Artur, as well as her recent lesson with Aurielle had reminded her that she had much left to learn. Surely her mother, or even her mother, were far more advanced than she was at two years of age. Was Caelia letting down the family legacy by not spending more time training, and advancing her skills? Maybe. That thought was enough to push her to do more. She wouldn't - no, couldn't - be a disappointment. That wasn't what being an Adravendi was all about.

Would she even find a worthy opponent here? She let her head fall low to the ground, nostrils flaring as she took in the scents that littered this blood-stained plain. It wasn't a place she particularly enjoyed, but... she knew she'd find someone to practice spar with. After finding a suitable spot, mostly clear of debris and obstacles, she tipped her slender muzzle to the sky and let loose a call for someone to challenge her to a simple spar. At least practicing with someone who wasn't her brother might shake things up a bit, at least that was what she was hoping for.

Ignis was on the lookout for more training. He swore he could compare his energy level to that of a caffeinated squirrel, which was saying something considering how big and laid back he seemed to be most of the time, but underneath his laid back facade, was in fact, the spirit of a caffeinated squirrel trying to break free. Paws itched to wander, not in the sense that he wanted to leave the pack, but more in the sense that he needed something other than crafting to do. Patrolling and crafting and pack duties were great and all, but the repetition of it all wasn't enough. He needed to go out and see what the unknown held, and what better way to find that then head to the battlefield? Maybe a spar or something would help calm him and change up his day.

And almost as soon as he showed up, he heard a call for a spar. Almost immediately, he changed course and practically barrelled his way there. Upon finding out who had called, he halted almost abruptly almost a dozen feet from her. She smelled of another pack, definitely not one from the North or East, and she was pretty. "Hey there, heard you calling for a spar. Mind if I take ya up on that?"

Though Caelia was somewhat uncertain about facing off with a complete stranger, she knew it was what needed to be done to give her more fight experience. Sparring with her pack would only get her so far, unfortunately. On the other paw though, strangers could be unpredictable, and could she trust a complete stranger to not go overboard? She had to hope she had the foresight to know to pull away if something was about to go wrong. If Caelia was anything, it was observant - so she had to trust her own instincts.

Luckily, the male that answered her call didn't seem immediately threatening. He was quite a bit larger than her, to an intimidating degree, but he had an air of friendliness to him that was undeniable. "Hello," she answered him cordially, friendly enough that her intentions wouldn't be mistaken, but ever-stiff and reigned in. "I don't mind at all. The first move's yours," she offered him, which only seemed fair as she'd been the one calling for a partner in the first place. Caelia didn't care who he was, not really, and had no real need to offer up her own name unless he requested it. Not sure how quickly he'd move to strike, she steadied her limbs and shifted subtly into a more defensive position as her eyes locked on him and waited for a sign of movement.

The pretty girl started with a greeting and offering the first move up to him. Alright, fair enough. She seemed nervous, but he wasn't about to call her out on that bit. He could understand that, of course. As she shifted into a defensive stance, he glanced up to see his flying companion hovering above and the wolverine lingering on the outskirts of his vision. He doubted he'd need either of them, so he subtly signaled to remain on standby. Besides, he didn't want them getting in the way right now. Rolling his neck and shoulders, the crimson male settled into his own defensive position as he thought about his first move. Well, he supposed he ought to go in like usual right? Quick as a flash, he charged towards the smaller she-wolf. Large paws drummed the ground as he came at her like a locomotive, and despite his large and bulky size, he was pretty quick on his feet.

As he neared her, he shifted to his left in an effort to come at her right side, seeking to sweep past and swipe at both legs on that side with his own foreleg to try and knock her over and onto the ground. Or at least, compromise her balance enough that would make her falter. Simultaneously, he'd use his chest and shoulder to knock into her hip, using his greater weight to his advantage as he aimed to also use that to try and knock her over.

She was a little nervous, but not enough for her to even consider backing out from their spar, even with their size differences. His companions lurking nearby, just out of the corner of her vision, didn't help her nerves any. Should she find a way to wrangle up a companion like that? Would she even be able to tolerate the company of something.. like that? Caelia cast a sideways glance over toward the wolverine, who was far enough away that she couldn't quite make out his features, but close enough to know she didn't want a friend like him hanging around. Wrinkling her nose, she returned her attention to Ignis, watching as he readied himself to attack.

He was quicker than she expected him to be, charging toward her with remarkable speed and force. He moved to the left, sliding past the right side of her body and sweeping her limbs out from under her. She hadn't expected that attack - she'd been hunched forward, trying to protect her throat from any possible attack - and Caelia was sent stumbling. She managed to catch herself before she went down face-first toward the ground, but her posture was far from graceful. Stumbling, she caught herself as she stumbled toward her left, parting her jaws as she used the sudden rush of adrenaline to kick off and charge toward Ignis's neck. From her angle beside him she knew she couldn't quite catch his throat, but hopefully she could hold on to his scruff and disrupt his own balance, even if just slightly.

It seemed she hadn't expected his way of attacking, and in fact had caught her off guard. She stumbled and lost balance, but not quite enough to knock her to the ground. He was careful not to stab her with the horns on his skull helmet, the crimson boy unwilling to go to such lengths against someone that looked so nervous. He understood though. He had been her at one point in his life. Now he was more experienced, and he was sure she'd get there too someday. As he tried to sweep past, his eyes were focused more on her rear end, head low and before he knew it, he felt teeth snag in his scruff and his head was yanked to the side. He tilted his head at an awkward angle towards her, crimson gaze peering through the helmet while she had a hold of him. Though he was larger, he didn't go unbalanced. Instead, he used the motion to try and land another blow, but this time he opened his jaws and attempted to bite her flank while throwing his weight into her side. She could keep the hold she had all she wanted (despite how uncomfortable it was for him, he felt he could handle it). And along with that attack, he once again sought to sweep her hind leg out from under her to further try and compromise her balance yet again.

Though he was headed for her hindquarters, sweeping her legs briefly out from under her, she was more focused on wheeling around and grabbing hold of his scruff. Maybe if she could maintain even a brief hold she might be able to keep from losing her balance even more. If he really caused her to fumble, she'd be forced to concede the fight, knowing that there was no way she could overpower him once he was on top of her. The very thought made her feel flustered as she thought of it, and not simply because she didn't want to lose... she was thankful the stranger couldn't see the way the heat rose her face, making her feel even more disoriented.

But, despite the fact that she maintained a decent enough hold on his scruff, he didn't focus his energy on pushing her off. Instead he went for her flank again, trying to knock them out from beneath her. He succeeded again, perhaps even in a way she couldn't recover from - she felt her hindquarters give out, trying to stumble instead of fall completely as she struggled to keep her footing, relinquishing her hold on him just enough to try to lunge deeper into his neck and grab tighter hold of him as she went down, hoping she might take him down with her.
