He closed his eyes in one place and opened them in another. Even though Tyrian had been to Somnium many times, the sudden change from the land of the living to the land of the dead always surprised him. If there was a way to will himself there he had yet to discover it. The trips were random and without warning. He fell asleep in his den and woke up elsewhere. Sometimes everything was the same and he only felt different, but other times things were moved around or slightly different. Sometimes the tractor looked less rugged, the barn less haunted. Other times it was seasons or times of day. The only things that were consistent were how he felt - he always knew where he was - and who he saw.
Tyrian leaped up eagerly and looked around. So much had happened since he'd last seen Momma Cas. He'd said good-bye to Rhythm, found sheep, fended off raiders, and last but certainly not least, he'd become an alpha. There was so much he wanted to talk to her about. She'd want all the good gossip, no doubt.
