The Warlord gave the Princess some time to settle in and adjust to her new way of life. She had her furs to line her den, and knew where to access the pack's food. The first few days of accommodation would be easy for her, but the day would quickly come where her provisions would be paid for in blood and sweat.

Knowing exactly where to find her, Sirius would finish his border patrol just as the sun crested the horizon. With the first tinges of gold lighting the long grasses of his main territory, the Warlord would make his near the the commonual center of the pack. Reaching her den in early hours of dawn, and stopping a few meters from its entrance. From there he would call out a greetings, and wait for her to rise and meet him. Today he would test what she already knew, and decide how best to proceed with her training.

Sky was asleep when Sirius came to her den, though she didn't hear him. She had spent the last few days exploring and trying to get familiar with everyone in the pack, as well as the borders where the pack lied. Each day, she would set herself on a run to test her endurance and to also push past her limits. Every night, she came home exhausted. Skyfire was not an early riser, but she would soon learn to be. The sun hadn't even risen above the horizon yet when Sirius came calling. At first she thought she was dreaming, but when Skyfire rolled over sleepily and saw the massive form of Sirius outside her den, she yawned. "It's too early Sirirus. Five more minutes." she said as she rolled back over. The soft furs of her bison pelt keeping her warm. The more she could feel his presence outside, the more uncomfortable she got. Sirius wasn't going away, was he?

Looking back again, Skyfire decided not to envoke the wrath of someone nearly five times her size, and she rolled over to get up. It was damn cold. She shivered and stepped out of her den, looking around to find no one nearby. Just Skyfire and Sirius sat in the grassy plains. This must be training day, huh. Skyfire shook her pelt free of the dust and from how she was sleeping. "Alright, I'm up." Skyfire said with a slight sigh. She enjoyed sleeping in, but something told her that with her training, this wasn't going to be one of her luxuries anymore.

Skyfire thinks. Skyfire listens.

"Skyfire speaks."

Sleep had never been a friend of the Warlord, and the result of that meant early mornings and late nights for the majority of the week, and then crashing for many hours. He found it easier to sleep when he was exhausted, and he was always pushing himself. He liked to leave not task undone, and did nothing the next day that could not be done right then and there.

But, he understood others did not find it nearly so easy to rise in the morning. He chuckled softly under his breath where she could not hear him. The word ‘Princess’ smothered in that chuckle.

He took a seat, and waited. He could be a patient hunter, and would not be shaken easily. He would wait, for he knew - and indeed, it wasn’t long before he heard groaning and rustling inside. “We don’t learn by sleeping” he berated her, but it was more a teasing then a telling off. “Come along then” he said, and would lead her to his arena crafting in Sea’s plains.

Sirius was laughing at her as she rose, so she scowled a bit. It wasn't funny, but perhaps it was. Being that he was a person that enjoyed being up early. Perhaps there was a reason for it. It meant she would be tired by the afternoon before the sunset maybe. Depending on what the warlord had in store for her today, a nap was probably in the schedule. "Of course you don't learn through sleeping. That would be dumb." Sky thought to herself as she followed him through the grasses. One thing was for sure - she wouldn't get lost with his massive body towering over the grass blades. It must have been like wading through shallow water. For Sky, the blades were up to her face and she had to nose her way through. So, she opted to follow in the footsteps of the warlord as it was less pushing through the grass since it was bent over.

"Where are we going?" she asked. She couldn't see the direction that they were headed since the grass was so tall, but Sirius must have known where he was going. She knew that her training would start today, and if it were in the grasses, she wouldn't get too much of a lesson. Or would she? Perhaps there was some place more specific to practice fighting in.

Skyfire thinks. Skyfire listens.

The Warlord led the young wolf through the grasses, and broke free just before the land shifted to beach. He placed a paw on the warm sand, looking out at the great expanse of it, and the large barracks that sat near the grasses.

The arenas were dotted across the sand, small creations built to withstand the tide that came in every night to wash away the blood and signs of battle the wolves might leave behind. Having self-cleaning arenas came in handy.

He moved towards one of the rings, stepping inside, and beckoning for Skyfire to follow suit. He would need to see what the young woman was capable of.

(No Table today)

Sirius didn't answer her question, and it annoyed her a little bit. Skyfire grumbled as she continued to follow him, wondering why the heck he woke her up so early if he wasn't going to say anything. I mean, if they were going to train, he could have said so, but perhaps it was better to show her than to say anything. The giant led Skyfire out to the sandy beaches that she had been to before with Banshee, except this was a different part of it. Skyfire looked upon each ring and saw no evidence of battles. Perhaps the ocean cleaned the blood away every night. The rings did seem to be close to the water's edge so that the tide could reach them. The girl, dwarf in comparison to Sirius, walked out to meet Sirius who had stepped in one of the rings.

The ropes that outlined the ring created a space that was vast in size, allowing a lot of movement to be had with fights. The ring floor was made of hard packed sand which allowed for a better grip, but also presented the challenge of uneven terrain in some places. The sand would still move and slip beneath her feet, creating a risk of slipping. Still, as Skyfire ran a paw across the surface, it was hard enough she wouldn't have to worry about it much. Skyfire looked up at Sirius, wondering what the next move was. "Today is training day?"

“Indeed,” he agreed easily. “Let’s see what you’ve got, and then I can work on a training plan for you” he explained. He was keen to see her foundations, and what she could do. After that, he would set her up with a more consistent mentor, and step in for spars and pointers when it was needed. The Warlord loved to teach, but the students deserved mentors that would be able to dedicate more time to their training.

“Set your defenses, and then i’m coming for you” he warned, giving the younger wolf a chance to prepare herself. He waited a moment, then uncurled himself, coming to his full height, a slow smile on the tip of his maw. He was never quite as alive as when he was sparring.

He launched himself forward, towards the smaller wolf. He aimed to drive his right shoulder into her chest, and bring them into close quarters. The Titan always fought better in a small space.

(I'm sorry for the late reply. Schedule has evened out a bit finally.)

Skyfire had never fought before, so she felt a little awkward being here in the middle of the ring. It was as if she were on a stage for others to watch, and yet there was no one here to watch the spectacle. It was just her and Sirius in the ring. Skyfire wondered how this fight would go and if she would even be able to dodge any of his movements. Well - today was the day to prove herself, and she hoped she proved herself worthy. She wouldn't be much of a queen if she couldn't even hold her ground, would she?

As soon as Sirius gave the warning, she prepared herself by lowering her head a bit and spreading out her legs, something she had seen her brothers and other pack mates do when training. When Sirius stood to his full size, her jaw became loose and hung a little. Her legs even trembled from him launching forward, but she couldn't give in now. As soon as she saw him coming, aiming for her chest, Skyfire desperately looked for a way to either stand against it, or dodge it. With a body that size, there was no way she could take the hit and deflect him, so she opted to dodge.

Skyfire dodged to her left, trying to avoid reach of his claws and face. She felt if she was along his side, she would be able to at least outrun him. Skyfire had dodged within the last second as she felt part of his shoulder brush her hip, spinning her sideways so that her right side was exposed. Quickly trying to get up in the sand, Skyfire went to run under him, using his size to her advantage, to aim for his underside at whatever her fangs could grab at.
