Eir was once again in one of her excursions away from the pack's lands. Her reasons were unknown beyond wishing to merely explore, as her adventurer's blood pushed her to find new places and creatures. That was part of the essence she wanted to keep alive despite now belonging to a pack.

Eyes of cyan traveled through the fields and the river that like blood crossed the valley without much interruption. She came here before, and back then she was younger. And now she had come once more to check on it once more. Her expression was as always calm and her walk confident. Slowly she approached the river's edge and calmly she would start driving, still paying an eye to her surroundings. There near her, she spotted a resting crocodile which apparently hasn't noticed her presence, that gave her a bad temptation.

Mæva continued her exploration of the southern lands. She was enjoying the warmer winter here but she knew it might not last. The sun was starting to peek through the clouds above her though and that gave her confidence to keep exploring.

By the afternoon she reached a massive river and carefully worked her way to the edge to grab a drink. As she lifted her head to lick the water off her chin she spied something resting on the edge of the river bank. Mæva crouched down. It was like a giant lizard! She'd eaten lizards when she was younger but she wasn't sure if something this big was prey. That was when she spied an older wolf not far from her. Mæva crept forward. "Psst, hey, what is that big lizard thing?"

She kept watching with great interest, a crocodile was something she never thought of attacking or even kill. They were dangerous, hard to fight as they were highly armored, iron crushing jaws. But it wasnt impossible but her alone wouldn't be enough, so there she would decide to leave it pass, and maybe the next time she will with more jaws.

But then a little voice came upon her ears, and a pup came her way. Asking about the creature near them. "That's a crocodile, a formidable creature which is very dangerous." She explained without tact, it was better to say things as they were rather than lying. "Are you alone child? Where are your parents?" She asked.

Mæva listened quietly as the woman explained that the giant lizard was a crocodile and that it was very dangerous. "So it's not food?" Reptiles always confused her. She could never quite tell if they were a proper food source or not.

"My dad's not too far, but my mom is… well, let's just say she is very far away." She didn't want to talk about her mother right now and anyway the crocodile suddenly slipped into the water. "Oh!" She stood up, creeping to the edge but the crocodile was lost to her view. "I didn't know they could swim!" She'd never seen a lizard swim before-

Mæva screamed as the crocodile suddenly emerged from the water, stumbling back just in time to avoid its snapping jaws.

"So it's not food?" "Well you could eat one if you manage to bring them down, but killing one is very hard and even more alone. A single wolf wouldn't take one, you'll need more if you wanna have a chance." She explained as she looked back at the reptile just to take a close eye to its moves, she knew they could be deadly if not paid attention to. "My dad's not too far, but my mom is… well, let's just say she is very far away." She opened her mouth but decided not to ask further, she was no one to lurk into other's life unless invited.

Then the crocodile went up to the water. The pup soon expressed her surprise. "There is where you'll find them the most of their time." She said as she narrowed her eyes. They needed to be in alert as now the reptile was on its element. But her worry became true as out of nowhere the giant charged out of the water, attempting to snap on the pup. Quickly she attempted to grab the child by the scruff and try getting them far from the predators reach. Then she growled at the crocodile, bare teeth and risen hackles. The larger hunter crept out of the water and walked toward her viciously, Eir soon would move around and quickly she attempted t bit on their left back leg and she did so seriously attempting to cause pain.

Eir grabbed her scruff and yanked her back further before releasing her. The crocodile crept its way onto the land. Mæva's hackles raised and she growled as she took a few steps back. She did not like this creature! Something about it just made her skin crawl. She couldn't imagine eating it. Suddenly the older woman dove in to attack the creature. Mæva wanted to run but she also didn't want to just abandon the other woman. With the crocodiles focus on Eir she dove for it's right leg, fangs sinking deep. She bit, twisted her head then let go and ran as the creatures whip like tail just missed tripping her up. She scrambled back on land and twisted around to assess the situation.

Fangs sank as intended into the reptile's fresh, the leg's scales were softer and thus she managed to inflict a deep wound, and blood didn't wait long to start staining her fur and the ground below. She hopped the child managed to get far, but as she attempted to dodge the Crocodile's snapping jaws he saw the pup still there, almost hit by the tail. It was dangerous for a pup to try on such a vicious creature than even an adult wouldn't be able to take one.

For now, she would try to keep the beast away from the child, and thus as the crocodile switched to get the pup Eir would quickly growl and bite once against in the previous wound, hoping to drive it to her.

Mæva snarled at the crocodile but it didn't seem to understand what a growl meant and instead it shifted it's focus onto the older woman. "Look out!" She was torn, uncertain if she should help or get away. Deciding that the woman was trying to protect her Mæva bounded up the bank, getting farther inland. "Are they fast? Will it chase us?" It didn't look like it would be too fast running across land despite its agility near the water but she wasn't sure. She'd never seen such a thing and she already decided that she didn't like it. What an awful, horrid creature!

The woman kept with her vicious attack as an attempt to drive the larger beast away from the pup, she couldn't allow it to do so. The warrior path she took on wasnt only to be able to defend herself but those who couldn't, to be there for others. And thus she was ready to give her life for this youngling and without fear she attacked and dodged as the croc wished to get her gone. The child warned her and she did dodge or tried to. The child asked and for once she paid attention but that allowed the croc to smack its tail into her left flank making her fall but quickly regained her balance and in a quick move attempted to get behind, placing herself over its head and bite on one of the eyes. She wanted to make it leave at any cost and that was what she did, the croc in a fast way ran back to the waters. A slice rested upon her side, bleeding but she ignored the pain as she turned her eyes back to the giri. "Fast but gets tired quicker," She said calmly.

Mæva sighed in relief and sat down. She liked the great river. Why did something so nasty have to live there? She'd take bears any day over a beast that lurked in the water and tried to eat you whenever you tried to take a drink.

She nodded as the woman explained that the crocodile was fast but it didn't have much stamina. "Thanks for helping me. My name is Mæva. I should probably get back to my dad, he'll be worried. Maybe we'll see each other again some time."
