Mæva gulped down her breakfast of prairie dog, eager to start day two of her training on the battlefield. She was farther than she should probably have gone but she'd left a message for her father and she'd taken Geira with her. A small amount of rabbit jerky wrapped in rabbit hide were her portions for the trip but she didn't want to eat through to much of it and so when she saw the prairie dog town she just knew she had to go for it.

Satisfied with her meal she took to the field in search of a good clearing to call for a spar. Once she had found a good spot she threw back her head and called for an opponent.

Exploring this new place, black ears perked when a howl rang out. The voice was familiar, but Resin' couldn't quite place it until she came upon the sight of the young woman that she'd met on the beach. There was determination in that howl. A single eye scanned the area. The flat land would provide fine footing for a spar or training session.

Coming upon the girl, the giantess shot her the barest of grins. "Mæva," she said simply, remembering the child's name. "Is it a spar that you're after?" The idea of it intrigued the big woman. She enjoyed seeing young ones and their skills. If she could help to fortify the youth of the world by testing their mettle, she was glad to do so. If the girl was willing, so was she. The ash and onyx dame squared her body and waited.

Mæva shuffled lightly back and forth on her feet, warming up. She saw Geira stand and looked as a familiar form approached. She grinned as she recognized the one-eyed woman she'd met when she was crafting on the obsidian beach. "Hi, Resin." She nodded eagerly. "Yes, I am. I want to keep working my fighting abilities as well as hunting."

She noticed the older woman square off and she moved to do the same. Mæva quickly set her defenses, making sure to remember to pin her ears and tuck her tail. She eyed Resin for a moment before springing forward. She charged straight on at first then shifted suddenly to her right as she tried to race along Resin's left side, her head rotated in, jaws flung wide as she tried to bite onto Resin's left knee.

Maeva squared up as well and the big woman grinned. As usual, she would not use her teeth. They were reserved for hunting and for actual battle. She would not hurt the girl, or anyone else, during a simple spar. So, when the child rushed her with the intent to bite her knee, Resin sidestepped, moving her body to continue facing Maeva. With the momentum of the rush, Maeva should have continued forward a few more steps. If so, Resin would headbutt the girl in her rump with the intent to sent her flying. A simple attack, but they all were simple during spars.

Resin side-stepped out of the way, causing Mæva's attack to miss but she quickly arced her upper body in, intent on following her original target while trying to keep her defenses as in tact as possible. Resin's head collided with her left hip and she stumbled slightly but used the moment to help knock her hips behind her as she rotated. Her jaws flung wide as she tried to bite onto Resin's thigh this time. She was impressed with the older warriors speed and could only hope she would be able to keep up. Geira sat on the side lines watching the jackals. She would only get involved if the other woman's companions did. Until then she'd leave the match to the wolves.

The jackals would sit on the sideline as well. They knew that their meal ticket liked to fight for herself and rarely got involved. The pair were content to stay out of the way and resorted to tussling playfully in the grass. They paid the caracal no mind whatsoever. The slam into the young fae worked and she stumbled off of her course. Resin couldn't help but to grin as the smart child used that new momentum to adjust her aim and try to bite into the behemoths thigh. The woman lifted her leg just a bit, giving Maeva knee in her mouth instead. She could feel each tooth in her joint, but paid it no mind. Already she was moving. Front paws rose and fell and hind paws followed in sequence as the woman bucked and began to spin in an effort to make the girl lose her hold and fly away from her.

Mæva's bite missed Resin's thigh but as she felt her fangs latch onto Resin's knee she felt she could sing with happiness. She scored a hit, she scored a- uh oh. Resin bucked sharply and though Mæva did her best to hang on she was flung off, landing on her side. Again she used the momentum to roll over her back and right back onto her feet. Despite the difficulty of this spar she was enjoying herself. With her defenses set she dove at Resin again, this time trying to bite the back of the woman's left elbow. As she dove in for the attack she reset her defenses, trying to keep as prepared as she could be.

Resin's efforts were rewarded with the young girl flying off of her with a roll. She was impressed with how quickly Maeva was back on her paws. In an instant she was back on the attack, trying to bite one of the scarred woman's elbows. Instead of letting her bite the elbow, the behemoth lowered her head, ears tucked against her skull, and dove forward, attempting to knock into the girl and send her off of her paws once more. All in all, she was pleased with the girl's level of skill. If she continued practicing, she would be a grand warrior some day.
