soul sisters

Poem couldn’t put into words how proud she was of her sister for joining them in the raid. She’d made such incredible progress from when they were younger. She didn’t know if it was her time in the Armada or losing their mother, or the time she’d been alone when Poem had been in the Armada. She knew Mo still had progress to make, she still blamed herself for their mother’s death, though Poem would argue it was actually her to be put to blame. If she had brought Motif home the day she’d met Sirius…
Knowing their family was never reunited was one of the most painful memories she held onto. What she would have given to stand beside Shaye again with Rhyme and Motif surrounding them. Poem tried not to dwell too heavily on her sorrowful thoughts, there was nothing she could do to change the past or bring her mother back no matter how hard she willed it. She just had to keep moving, and love the remaining family she had even harder. Beginning with training. She was happy that Theory gave her the responsibility to help Motif to grow. She had high expectations of her sister, but she wouldn’t be unrealistic either. They would start slow, and move at whatever pace her sister needed.
Poem returned to the den that evening after a long patrol of Abaven’s borders. She was a little tired, but her mind wasn’t as restless as it might have been previously. ”Motif?” She called out, not sure if Motif had beta her back here or not.

The young girl was just around the other side of the den, sitting in the grass under the sun, and considering what this winter was going to look like. She managed to pull herself from her revere at the sound of her sister's voice.
“I’m over here” she called back to the light-pelted girl. She got to her feet, shaking out some of the snow that had managed to settle upon her. She walked around, and found her sister by the entrance. She managed a soft smile to the sister she loved so much. What is it, Poem?”

Poem wasn’t left waiting long, but Motif wasn’t in the den like she had assumed. Her dark ears perked and blue and lavender eyes shifted to the side of the den where her tall sister rounded the corner. The young Destruction grinned as her sister found her way towards her. Poem helped closed the distance between them aiming to nuzzle her sister’s neck. She pressed her chest against her sister’s and shared in her warmth. ”How are you?” She asked softly, realizing how grateful she was to have her sister in her arms. After everything that happened Poem was much more appreciative of the wolves she shared her life with. ”I thought we might do some training today?” She wanted to give Motif an out if she wasn’t up to it right now.
