Askan was no coward and nor was he scared of the dark, but there was something he found unsettling about this cavern. It was a primal feeling, deep in the pit of his stomach as he stared ahead, brows furrowed and shoulders tense. Was it simply fear of the unknown? Or was something hiding in the dark, just out of the reach of his senses? Pfft. It didn't matter and Askan didn't care to go any deeper. He'd simply been seeking out shelter and the mouth of the cavern would serve him just fine. Letting out an undignified snort, he planted himself down on the cavern floor, his front legs splayed out before him. He'd been meandering back and forth between the north and the west for the past few days, keeping on the move so that he didn't attract unwanted attention, but it had taken it's toll on his paws. They ached, and the pads were crackled and tender. It wasn't so bad that he was den ridden but he really did need to take a moment to give them some TLC.

He began with cleaning them first, starting with his front paws then working to the back. By the time he was done he felt much better, a wolfish approximate of taking off one's shoes after a long days work. It was another thing he'd taken for granted back home, he supposed. The luxury and ease of living, it had all just seemed so natural to him and now that he was going without, having to do this shit on his own without wolves waiting on his paws and maw well...He preferred it, honestly. He could deal with the dark and the achy feet, but if he had to listen to one more of his Father's lectures about propriety and tradition he'd...do something drastic, probably.

Curling his tail around his flank, Askan wiggled his front toes as he derailed that train of thought. He didn't even know why he bothered to think about the past like that, it only soured his mood.

Eir was once more seeking out for adventure, for witnessing what else could be out here, out of Lirim's lands. Her spirit of a Nomad was far from being dead, she still had those urges of moving and allowing those feet to travel here and there in order to fulfill any of her deepest of desires, of satisfying that thirst of the unknown. The Armigeri then left Lirim's terrains and set route to the west not caring much how far she was going to travel, all she wanted was to move and find out what lied there.

And thus as some time passed she found herself before a cavern, big and one that was calling for her. Part of her made her regret some of those feelings but in the other side, her curiosity was pushing her. But like a product of fate, she could hear clacking lighting and thunder, and soon a heavy rain started to fall over.Well now she had a reason to come in,and as she approached she took a seat just where the rain didn't reach. She was unaware of the other wolf. Then she lied down in complete silence waiting for the sudden downpour.

Maybe after it was done she could keep up with her adventure.

Askan had been dozing off, curled up tight as he enjoyed the peace and quiet when a sharp clap of thunder jolted him awake. His eyes flashed open as his hackles puffed up, all sharp and spiky like a spooked cat. His ears twitched at the sound of  the torrential rain outside and his mind put two and two together; it was just a storm, nothing to get all worked up over. He closed his eyes once more, ready to settle back down, only for his ears to flick to attention once more. It was faint at first, muffled by the falling rain, but with each passing second the sound came closer and became all the more recognisable. Footfalls.

With a grumble, Askan pulled his head up and glared over his shoulder. It took a moment for his eyes to adjust but soon enough he saw a stranger waltzing on in and plopping herself down just as he'd done not moments ago. He scowled for a long, lingering moment. How the hell had she not noticed him? Had the rain dampened her sense of smell, or was she just that oblivious? Askan was inclined to think it was the former. It was awfully petty of him, of course, the cavern was plenty big enough for the two of them and it wasn't as though she'd sat on him. But well...sometimes it was like he wanted to get worked up over nothing, like he was most comfortable when he was at his meanest.

"Yeah sure, make yourself comfortable why don't you." He rumbled, like he had any claim over these caverns.

She was a strange sight though, as if from the neck down she'd been dipped in tar. She didn't glow in the dark, not did she have tusks like a boar so she wasn't exactly an oddity but even now Askan still stubbornly clung onto his idea of what a wolf should look like. And this stranger didn't exactly fit the bill.

As she now rested she felt confident, should someone be there or not didnt bother her, this was a no one's land and thus nothing to worry about. And should things turn bad she wasn't a helpless wolf anyways, she knew how to defend herself pretty well. And as a manly voice came upon her ears a serene expression turned up to where it came from.A male rested not too far from her,and in silence she observed them.

"Yeah sure, make yourself comfortable why don't you." She didn't say anything at first, just giving a cold expression."Hm,I'll be taking my leave once the rain passed," That was all the explanations she would give, not having interest in speaking any further though the male got some of her curiosity, not like in a special way just a faint interest on who they were but she decided to be respectful and give them their space.

Not wishing to have any innecessary trouble she stood up and sat a bit further in case they wished more space and in silence she laid down again.Placing her chin over her forelegs she just stared at the outside world as more and more thunder roared into the dark skies.

Askan rolled his eyes as he settled his chin down on his legs. Her response was bland, tasteless, giving him little insight as to what kind of person she was. Not that he cared, really. The cavern was large enough for the two of them, easily, but in a somewhat petty display the lady got up and moved further from him, like she couldn't stand the smell of him. Askan's nose wrinkled at that, appalled by the imagined insult. Perhaps if he were a more reasonable man he'd realise that she was trying to keep herself to herself, avoiding conflict and just waiting out the rain, but of course Askan had to make a mountain out of molehill.  He pressed his nose to his shoulder and took a sniff. He wasn't the best groomed, having little interest or time for that right now, but he was hardly a mess either. The Selwyn was simply a little rough around the edges, but more or less presentable.

That lady though, she certainly carried some interesting scents.

"You from a pack?" He asked the darkness.

Eir's eyes remained pasted into the world outside those walls of stone, tail and legs were flat behind her.In her scruff, three scars like claws rested. She allowed her breath to escape her maw in a peaceful way. How long has it passed since she came to Boreas for the first time? More than a year at least. She was a teen back then, and since then she has been up to a lot of interesting situations, between fighting lions and bears up to a furious volcano and much more.

"You from a pack?" She turned her head at the male with a serene expression. "I do," She started thinking about how to speak next. "I am from Lirim,i am an Armigeri." She said calmly taking a silent sniff in directions to the male.No scents he carried or at least not from a pack. "Are you a wanderer too?" She asked, maybe a conversation could work while she waited for the rain to pass."I am Eir Ragnarok, who do I owe the pleasure to be speaking with?" She asked in a polite way, she never saw it too bad to show respect to those she came up with. She did with everyone, familiar or not.

Lirim?Askan pursed his lips, deep in thought. That name didn't ring a single bell, meaning that Sirius hadn't mentioned all the packs of Boreas. It made sense of course, but at least now he knew better, that there was more out there then he'd first assumed. Askan couldn't help but wonder whether the packs here were weird too. After all, the wolves here were unlike anything he'd seen back home, so why wouldn't their packs follow the same rule? It wasn't as though he resented their strangeness, it was more that his sheltered upbringing had instilled in him a very strong, unyielding, sense of this is how stuff is meant to be.  Askan wasn't against change, he just needed some time to adapt, that's all.

The woman then claimed that she was an Armigeri, like that was supposed to mean something to him. From the context he guessed it was a rank, a title that was of some importance in her pack otherwise she wouldn't have waved it around in his face like he was supposed to be impressed. Hmph. Was he a wanderer though? Well...he guessed so? He did wander around a lot these days but he wouldn't refer to himself as such, it felt too whimsical, like he'd packed his things and headed off on a journey to find himself. As if he didn't know himself well enough by now.

"I don't run with a pack, if that's what you mean." He said, deliberately being obtuse. "Askan Selwyn." He then introduced himself, sparing her of the usual formalities. "Tell me about Lirim." He'd never heard of the pack before so it was only natural that he was curious.
