Winter seemed to be more fierce than even Odette could have expected. Though the pack territory is in the south, she would often find herself waking up in the early mornings to find snow falling. It would never stick around very long, but it was a clear reminder to the fawn woman that perhaps she should be finding a bit more material for her den site. It would seem to have slipped her mind that winter could even reach this far south, and she often found herself huddling close to her companions at night as the chilling temperatures dipped into her den. While Odette could go on a hunt in a few days time and collect her own furs, winter was not one to wait around for those unprepared, and she was frightened of going to sleep one night and not waking up the following morning. So instead of waiting on the matter, the fawn maiden would slip out from her farm just past dusk when the hens had been gathered, and made her way to the center of the pack life; communal area and bonfire.
Not long ago she had come here at the call of her queen, and she recalled the gathering of furs in the area. Hopeful there might be a few laying around, open for the taking, Odette figured she would take the chance and start there, or else she would be force into yet another cold night. Slipping into the communal area from the shadows, Odette would scan the nearby area for any signs of furs. Much to her surprise, there seemed to be a few tucked up by the obelisk. Delighted, a smile would wrap it's way around her maw before she would quickly pad over, her body slinking across the ground as she was afraid to be seen.. for what reason... she couldn't answer. Perhaps Odette truly felt bad about taking something from the pack, as she had always been a giver. But in such dire needs, surely the other members wouldn't mind? If she had the nerve to travel to the alpha's den, surely they would even take pity on the female and share some furs for the cold nights? Just as she would reach for the furs, Odette would find herself hesitating, warmth and security just inches from her claws, but the guilt simply would not allow it. Sighing softly to herself, Odette would tuck her haunches and settle down before the blankets, her brows knit together in thought as she endured an internal battle over the matter. But they were just furs!

The winter winds were not shy about entering his own den either, specifically in the midst of night when it was the coldest. The pelt of the panther he'd hunted with Sirius plus the few pelts he took with him the night of his joining were hardly enough to keep the winter chill out. Debating on hanging a fur at the entrance of his den to create a doorway to keep the air out, he had gone on a small hunting trip to replace those he would be taking. He came up short today though and drearily padded towards the communal area once he'd made it back across the borders. If he went another night without something to block the wind, he was sure he'd wake up with a cold. He'd have to try again tomorrow to bring at least one decent pelt back, but for now he needed to make up his own den to make it another night. He wasn't use to winter and even though the light snow melted soon after it fell, it was still simply too cold for him at night. During the day his duties kept him warm enough, but with the dropping temperature and chilly winds at night, he couldn't take it anymore.
His pace slowed as he neared the communal area to a smooth trot, but the sight of something new caught him off guard and made him pause. Squinting, he tried to focus on whoever was laying near the obelisk. They looked unfamiliar to him, since he could tell from this far it wasn't Aslatiel. He hadn't met any other lighter colored wolves besides Malalia, but even she was darker than them. He broke his pause to walk forward and eventually came up behind the other and called out while he was still some distance away and stopped, in case his sudden presence startled her.
"Are you okay? Do you need some help?" Even he knew he was being too nice lately, but this new pack life was doing something to him. He couldn't quite tell what they were doing, besides maybe staring at some pelts near the obelisk. He tilted his head towards them, curious, and sat.

Odette would startle easily at the sound of another's voice, being so entranced by her own thoughts she would not think to listen for any other member. Whipping her head around to view the voice, she would pull her brows into a deep frown as she realized she did not recognize the male. Black and white marks made her think he was another Klein, but the fact he was here in the Armada, made her thinking twice. Thinking back on his words, Odette would laugh nervously, offering a small smile towards the stranger. "Oh, I'm alright, just contemplating is all." She would then pull herself to a seated position, dipping her head for a moment before introducing herself. "I'm sorry, I don't think we've met before. Probably my fault. My name is Odette Mooncrest, I am the handmaiden to our Queen."
Looking between the furs and the stranger, the woman would inch back some distance, panic in her eyes as she motioned to the furs. "I'm sorry, are these yours? I wasn't going to take them." She would gush, terrified she was caught in the act of stealing.. before she even got to stealing them. This was the communal area, but that didn't mean they weren't taken. After all, when the queen had invited her to the very same spot, she had brought her own furs and alcohol to support the pair of them. Great, it was surely going to make a very poor first impression. Odette wanted to whimper at the thought, but perhaps this male was a kind soul and would take pity on the fawn woman, let her go with a slap on the wrist perhaps?

The woman seemed shocked by his voice, turning her head to face him with a bit of a puzzled look. He definitely hadn't seen her around before, and oh would he remember seeing her. He offered a soft smile, hoping to calm her from the spook he had done her. Purple eyes scanned over her as she spoke and turned, sitting and facing him now, though her words were temporarily lost inside his mind as he watched her. She looked so... soft. Too soft to be a part of the Armada. He caught himself staring though when she started to speak again, apologizing and introducing herself as whatever a handmaiden was. Odette. He couldn't find his own words for a moment, stuck in a bit of a trance it seemed, but managed to swallow the lump in his throat before it became too awkward.
"I'm uh.. um.. Magnus." He stammered over his words, struggling to find them in a proper time to not make a fool of himself. A sheepish smile followed, and he'd certainly be blushing if it could be seen through his fur. "Don't um, be sorry. I'm sorta new." What the hell. He thought to himself, furrowing his brows for only a moment during the thought as he looked towards his paws fleetingly in embarrassment. When she started to speak again he looked up, but noticed the panic in her eyes as he did. He frowned and began to stand, but stopped himself from taking any steps. She seemed afraid, but of what?
"Oh no, they're not uh mine. Did you need some pelts?" His heart was racing now for whatever reason and he could feel the sweat beginning to form between his toes. This had never happened to him before, what the hell was going on?
