Her belly ached with hunger, the wanderer finding herself upon the coast. This place seemed rather interesting though, as her pale paws hit the sand she noticed how it was rather dark. She had no idea why it looked like that, but from what she could tell it didn’t mean much. She didn’t feel as if she was in danger, and from what she could tell this place was free to roam. Though, unfortunately, it didn’t seem like she’d find much of a meal here either.

That was unless she wanted to take a swim. She had caught a few fish in her time, but mostly in creeks and ponds. The ocean was open and ruthless, and she wasn’t exactly sure if she was the strongest swimmer. She either had to continue on and look elsewhere, or she had to be brave and turn to the waters. The woman contemplated for a moment, deciding to at least see if she could sense any fish or even crustaceans nearby.

"Aslatiel Fatalis"

As the rough waves of winter battered the black beach, twin purple eyes, the color of nighttime galaxies, watched while seeing nothing at all. Aslatiel was deep in thought. Her young life was in a state of turmoil and she was yet again out on her own, trying to make some sense of things. One brother hated her. Her father adopted a new daughter. She couldn't fight this urge to kill everything in her path. There was just a lot to deal with. Too much for one so young.

When the pale woman traipsed along in front of her view of the black beach, Asla blinked. The action made her eyes ache and she only then realized that she hadn't blinked in quite a while. Ugh. After a few more blinks, the girl pushed herself to a sitting position, poking up over the rocks that she'd been nestled between. One brow arched curiously as she watched the woman inspect the waters. Did she think she was going to find some food just washing up with the waves? Fat chance. If anything did wash up, it would have been long dead and not worth eating. If she tried to go fish, the waves would sweep her out to sea or drag her under. Hmm. Should she watch or intervene?

A few moments later, the small girl padded forward, dark ears flicked forward. "If you're looking for food, you'd have better luck looking elsewhere." She flashed a confident smile. "It just so happens that I know exactly where you might find a bite. Follow me." Without waiting to see if the woman would follow or not, Asla padded off down the beach towards a set of tide pools that she knew were hidden nearby. Things were usually trapped in the pools at various times of day. Though the waves were up on the beach, the pools were hidden back a ways and so there was likely something edible within.

Somebody else approached her, a younger pale girl whom she had never met before. She told her that it was best that she looked elsewhere if she wanted to find food. She however, knew exactly where they could find some. Shika would give her a small nod, and she would quickly follow after her. Though younger, she seemed like she knew what she was doing. They made their way down the dark coast, and she could see a few tide pools up ahead.

They would make their way over, and she would approach the pools carefully. She didn’t want to scare any of the little creatures that lived within, but she looked up at the girl. “This is a nice spot,” she said, “Thank you for showing me,” she added, showing her gratitude for the new spot. If she ever came around again, or… Had a craving for seafood, she could make her way back here for a small bite. “I’m Shika by the way, it’s a pleasure to meet you,” she added. Though she was a bit surprised a youngster like her was out here by herself, she guessed that maybe she could handle things on her own.

Now she wondered though, what exactly was within these tide pools? She guessed probably some small fish, and perhaps… Crustaceans??? She had never caught one before, but she assumed that it couldn’t be that hard.

"Aslatiel Fatalis"

The older wolf followed as Asla led her to the tide pools. Even though it was winter and the water was cooler, things still got trapped within. Peering over the edge, purple eyes landed upon a big, fat crab with long, spidery legs. There were a few fish as well. The woman thanked her and Asla simply made an 'Mmhmm' sound in her throat. When the name was given as Shika, Asla spoke. "Aslatiel Fatalis." Simple reply, but she was busy.

Curved kitten claws pushed forth from the girl's paw pads. She dangled them slowly in the water, the pads gently touching the liquid. It caught the attention of the fish, though they didn't come close. No matter. The crab was close enough to grab, so that would be her target. Reaching down with one leg, her claws scraped the hard shell of the crustacean. She had to sink forward into the pool, her other set of claws holding on to the rocky ledge. Her chin rested on the water as she fought to latch her claws into the crab so that she might pull it above the surface.
