Indigo missed Asla. He thought that she would retreat with him to his little plant house, but after the reveal her presence was sparse. He was so happy about his new space he wanted to share that emotion so badly with her, but he hadn’t been able to find her. The longer she was away from him the more he felt his heart hurt. She was a part of him, Indigo wasn’t complete without her beside him. With her missing presence he realized more than ever how incomplete he was without her.

The boy was out wandering again, looking for his sister again. Huge purple paws carried him forward over the main path that led through the Armada lands. Not that Indy thought he’d have any luck finding her here, but she wasn’t in any of the places he would usually find her. The boy sighed heavily as he stopped nearby aunt Io and uncle Roan’s cabin. He was just about to gie up and call for her, but he was worried that even after he sought her out she wouldn’t come.

The boy’s brows knit and he frowned as he debated his next move internally. He gave up and tilted his head back to call out for his sister that evening.

Aslatiel had just been leaving the territory when the call for her rang out. Dark ears instantly perked and the girl turned her head back towards where her family lay asleep. Well, most of them anyway. Indigo was clearly wide awake and, with his howl, would most likely be rousing the rest of them. The girl was torn. She didn't want to be like this around her brother. He was so empathetic that he seemed to absorb her emotion. It was bad enough that she was like this, she didn't want him being upset either. After thinking about it for a few minutes, she decided to turn back, not able to deny Indigo.

Through the darkness she crept, sticking to the shadows to avoid being seen by any that might still be awake. Eventually she came to where she thought the call had originated from. The glass house was empty though so she continued on. If he wasn't in his garden, maybe he was in Aunt Io's garden. It was there that she found him. Or nearby, at least. Coming out of the shadows into a pool of moonlight, the small wolf pricked her ears forward, purple gaze falling upon her equally purple sibling. She didn't say anything, nor did she move closer. She simply stood and looked at him.

He sighed heavily as his fears started to come to fruition, even after he asked for her Aslatiel would not come. He hung his big violet head and felt his heart break for need of her. Sadness enveloped the boy. He remained close to Io’s cottage as the night closed in. He should have been resting but how could he when he wanted to be with his sister? Indy was about to get up and keep walking when the sound of paw steps caught his attention. Bright blue eyes looked up to a shadow in the moonlight as Alsa appeared out of nowhere.

Relief spread over him like a wave over the beach and he found his feet quickly as he tried to close the distance between them. The boy aimed to wrap her up tightly into his arms, to gain comfort from her presence but also give to her. Indigo knew she was struggling, but didn’t know how to help her. ”Asla.” He cried as he aimed to bury his features into the fur on her neck. Since their birth Indy knew that they were connected, and now that the distance was gone he felt whole once more.

Aslatiel felt instant shame and regret as her brother dove towards her, wrapping her in his embrace. She felt so bad for avoiding him, but at the time it had seemed like the best course of action. As her massive sibling curled himself around her, she placed her cheek against him, wrapping her own much smaller limbs around him as well. She could see the pain that she'd inflicted upon him and that was the reason for her shame. Dark ears tucked against her skull and Asla fought the whine that tightened her throat. Despite having pushed the feelings away, she realized just how much she'd missed Indigo.

"I'm sorry," she whispered softly, still holding him tightly against her. Just being with him made her feel a little more whole. A little more sane. It made her rethink staying away from him. Maybe he was just what she needed to get herself back together.

He wasn’t rebuked like he thought that he would be, Asla wrapped her arms around his neck and held onto him tightly. He held her close, regretting the distance and time spent apart. He didn’t know how to help her, but he knew that he wanted to hug and hold her like they were now. More than anything he wanted this. Indy missed her too, and he hadn’t realized just how much until those first few moments reunited.

He withheld the emotions that so easily welled up, he didn’t want to look like a wimp by crying into her fur, but it was hard. He missed her, Asla was like his other half and being so distant had hurt. She apologized but the big headed boy just shook his head. He should have tried to seek her out as well, but he’d been so afraid of crowding her. Being apart it seemed to have done more harm than good, but none of it mattered now that they were together again. More was said in silence than in words. They both understood how much they needed each other.

”No, I’m sorry.” She’d been hurting and he hadn’t been there to catch her when she fell.

She could hear the tears in his voice and feel the emotional heat in her brother's body. Asla squeezed him tighter as he apologized. "You don't need to be sorry. I was staying away. I didn't mean to hurt you." Now the whine bubbled up and her own tears pricked the corners of the eyes that matched her favorite siblings coat. The young girl was suddenly awash in emotion. "I'm sorry," she said again, her voice wavering as she spoke.

Her time spent alone had hurt them both, she just hadn't realized it at first. "I didn't mean to hurt you," she repeated. Asla buried her face into the thick fur of Indy's coat. She had hurt him. That was the last thing that she wanted. By staying away, she was trying to protect him. Trying to protect all of them. Her anger and hatred had just been so intense. She hadn't wanted to project that anger on those that were undeserving.

Asla squeezed him tighter and told him that it was all her fault, that she had been the one to stay away and they she’d never meant to hurt him that way. He shook his massive head and held her tighter, not so obtuse to be able to ignore the intense emotions that filled her voice as much as his. He didn’t want her to feel like this, but he didn’t know how to help her either. She hadn’t chosen to open up to him about what was bothering her, and Indy had tried to give her the space she needed. It seemed that all either of them wanted was to be here in each other’s arms.

”Just don’t leave me alone again.” He offered in much more timid tones than his huge size might let onto. He looked massive and immoveable but underneath his rough exterior Indigo was much more vulnerable. He was easily controlled by his intense emotions. The boy held his sister tight, sure that she was the only one he could rely on so heavy, the only one who’s lack of presence could bring him down so far.

A sigh pulled from the girl as Indy requested that she not leave him alone. She gave her brother one last squeeze then extracted herself from his grasp. She motioned for him to follow with a pull of her head and led him up the little hill to the pond at the top of the garden. A dusting of snow was on the ground, giving the place a rather ethereal look as the muted moonlight from above reflected off of both the pond and the white powder.

Asla patted the space beside her, inviting Indigo to sit down as well. Though he hadn't asked, she knew he would be curious about her behavior as of late and she felt that she owed him an explanation. "Indy, I've been really, really angry. Angrier than I've ever been." She didn't really want to think about why she was so angry, but she wanted him to know. "I'm really upset about dad giving Malalia our name." She didn't know how Indigo felt about the girl but he deserved to know how she felt. "He doesn't realize how important that name is to me. He keeps giving it away to anyone that has a sob story. Zabrina, Banshee, Malalia." Asla's small frame quivered with pent up emotion. "It's like he's looking for a new, better daughter."

The girl shook her head in the negative, her mouth a hard line. "I hate her, Indy. I hate her and I want her to die." She had never shown her sweet, loving brother the darker side of herself. Ears tucked against her head. She wasn't sure how he would react to her now. If things changed between them because of her anger, Asla would snap.

She didn’t promise him anything but his sister squeezed him tight before releasing her hold and leading him up to the pond. Indigo followed Aslatiel with a slow gait before sitting close beside her in the snow. He shifted slightly so that he would be sitting over her, chest to shoulders. He aimed to lower his head over hers as she started to talk to him. He listened quietly, remaining where he was, wanting nothing other than to be close to her even if he didn’t quite understand the emotions that ate at her.

Indigo knew anger, but it was only when he thought his family was being threatened. When Azure snuck up on him, when Azure wouldn’t tell Asla he was sorry and come to a retry of her beach night… Alright maybe it was just Azure he was angry at, but he didn’t harbor any of those feelings and he loved his brother. Indy wasn’t quite sure he considered the wolves his father adopted family either. They weren’t born of his blood, they hadn’t tried to become his siblings only Sirius’s ‘children.’ He couldn’t say he wanted any of them dead.

”Dad can try all he wants but none of them will ever be as great as you.” He didn’t put much thought into her anger or the reason for it, just accepted it along with every part of her that he loved. ”Why do you want her dead though? She didn’t ask dad for the name… right?” Did Mala deserve to be dead if she hadn’t even realized her transgressions? ”Besides. They’ll never be real Fatalis.” Indigo assured her. The only real Fatalis were the four of them anyway, their father had adorned it later in life and given it to Zee, but they were the ones born with it.

The girl laughed softly at her brother's response and responded by burying her face in the thick fur of his throat. Indy was too kind. He was her balance and he was exactly what she needed. His kindness leveled the scale against her anger. They were the true Fatalis wolves. The four of them. Even their mother and father had chosen the name, but the four of them, they were born into it. It never dawned on her that her parents might eventually have more children. Her mind couldn't handle such thoughts right now anyway.

"Thanks, Indy." The small wolf curled herself into her brother's embrace. Why weren't they always together? Ah, right. Because their father found it strange. That was why they had begun to distance themselves originally. It wasn't good for them though. Neither of them. Together, they were better. "Let's stay together, okay? I don't care what dad thinks." Asla pulled back just enough to bring her purple gaze to meet Indy's blue. "I need you, Indy. I'm sorry." She apologized again before burying her face in his coat once more.
