After speaking with three of his warriors, Acere got up and headed back up towards the ships deck. The promotion meeting had been just a couple of hours earlier, and now he sought out a certain individual that he felt he'd been neglecting as of late. Things hadn't been easy since Heloise left, and he wondered if her absence weighed heavily on the snow-white female, too...he was curious to say the least, but was also curious about other things. He wanted to get to know her better. And now that his time wasn't so consumed he could go around and speak to each member and ensure things were going smoothly. He had to admit, he didn't feel good knowing he felt like he'd been neglecting everyone...his own kids included. He'd be sure to check on them, but first, he sought out Yurei. As he reached the deck, he softly called for her to join him before he moved to lie down in a relaxed position. Hopefully, she wouldn't feel so timid...but he couldn't blame her for feeling that way, either. He knew his own size compared to her was intimidating, so he did what he could to not look that way. |

The meeting was done and Yurei could feel a mix of emotions. She didn't know what to do or say with them, for once she was being given the chance to be as anyone else. All of her life she has been treated like a monster instead of a wolf, someone whose purpose was to be under other's,to be a ghost. As she stood there staring at the nothing she wondered if someone like he would be of use, will she fail in this new rank? She didn't fail as a squire but she wasnt sure if she would fit ,but well she needed to at least try to be optimistic, even though that could easily be the biggest of her challenges. And there as she stood,a howl from her alpha reached her ears which pinned as she started to head the place. The sound drove her to the ship and there he saw him lying down. Not daring to look upon his eyes she approached and in a slow way she sat down but keeping her distance. "Did you need me?..." The question sounded dumb to her and she just looked away Aki didn't accompany her this time as the cat needed to get time for herself. She felt silent as she looked up to the sky. |

He knew it wouldn't be so easy to get her to not feel so afraid here. And it saddened him to see the way she approached, the timidness she exuded was nearly palpable and he wondered what he could do to try and help her more if anything. He remained in the position he was in as he nodded. "Yes. I would like to speak with you. As equals." He flicked an ear as he looked at her, a soft smile on his lips as he tried to appear as friendly as possible. "Right now, do not think of me as your alpha," He wondered if that would help her feel more comfortable around him. If it didn't, well then he supposed only time would eventually help her emerge from her shell. He wouldn't force it. Forcing things never did any good. And although his own younger life had been full of being forced, he didn't believe in sticking to that approach for everyone. With someone like Ignis, perhaps. His nephew was strong and could handle the pressure. But Yurei was a softer soul, and he was learning how to better work with her. "Yurei, I would like to ask if you'd be interested in taking an apprentice? You won't have to mentor them alone if you don't want to, I can assign Ignis or someone else to aid you should you need it. You've come a long way since you first joined us...but your skills as a healer have grown, I've noticed. And between you and me, Ignis still struggles with learning herbs since his sister has been absent. If you don't mind, I'd also like for you to help him learn. It's up to you, however. If you don't feel ready taking an apprentice just yet, I'll understand." |

"Yes. I would like to speak with you. As equals." She finally caught the enough courage to look at him, ears pinned she felt curious with what Acere was going to say.She never saw herself as an equal, not only to him but everyone she interacted with. And hearing someone calling her an equal sounded quite new, something that's managed to shake her insides like a thunder. Her heart started to pound fast but just because of the anxiety but there she tried to pretend she was fine by forcing a calm face even if it didn't look quite well made. "Right now, do not think of me as your alpha," She nodded in an unsure way. "Yurei, I would like to ask if you'd be interested in taking an apprentice? You won't have to mentor them alone if you don't want to, I can assign Ignis or someone else to aid you should you need it. If you don't feel ready taking an apprentice just yet, I'll understand." In a second she felt the surprise hit hard against her heart. She tried to hide the surprise in her eyes. She never saw herself fit to take someone under her wing. She wasnt sure if she would ever have Drifa's tact to teach,Drifa was great at that. But she not that much. But for once she took her time to consider the offer."Sure...I could try...who could i mentor?" She asked a bit less scared but the surprise was still running high. "I'll love to help Ignis...i just...i don't know how to teach anyone...but ill do my best... I wanna be useful for the first time in my life...i don't want to disappoint anyone ever again.." She said lowering her ears but somehow giving a sort of determination to her words. |

He waited for her to accept or deny the opportunity to mentor someone, but when she decided to accept, he couldn't help the small smile that formed. The fact that she was willing, even going on to say she didn't know how to teach and she wanted to be useful, well...little did she know she had been already. "Don't worry Yurei, everyone starts somewhere and you'll only gain experience by doing. Remember, you have the help of the pack as well whenever you need it, and I am sure that Drifa won't mind assisting you should you need it. All you need to do is ask any one of us and we'll be glad to help if we can. After all, that's part of being in a pack, no?" While he wasn't knowledgeable in healing, he could help in other ways. "As for who your apprentice would be? I think I'd like you to mentor Winter. She may be a bit feisty, but I've recently seen her poking around some of Drifa's herb stashes. I think she might be getting an interest in them, so I'd like you to mentor her and see if you can guide her in that field." Sure, his daughter could be feisty and a bit rambunctious, but she also knew when to listen. She knew that if she showed disrespect she'd get in trouble, she was a respectful individual. They all were as far as he knew. |

She nodded with her small ears folded, she really didnt want to disappoint him,not ever again she wanted to make others lose the faith on her."You are right...it's just that i am not too confident with asking for help...i don't want to disturb but ill try..." She admitted in a shy voice,as she sat down with her shoulders slightly tense."Sure...ill do my best...Thank you for this opportunity.I promise to work hard and don't disappoint you." She gave her answer with determination, but still with a low voice. "And how do i start? What do I have to do first?..." She wanted to do this right and for once she wanted to start in the right foot. She now would have someone depending on her, someone who's future laid on her shoulders, not in a completely but in a way. "You're not a disturbance, Yurei. I have a feeling it is difficult for you to believe otherwise, but you are not a bother to me, and I'm sure you're not a bother to anyone else here. Part of being in a pack is depending on one another and turning to each other for guidance when we need it." He tried to reassure her, but he didn't know how much that would help ease her fears, if at all. He listened to her concerns, and he understood where she was coming from. "Everyone makes mistakes in their life, but they often help us learn and grow. You won't find peace if you keep looking back, we have to keep looking forward and use our past as an experience. Use it for learning opportunities." After all, trying was better than not trying at all. And he wanted her to have the opportunity to try to better herself. "If it's not too much to ask, you can start by teaching her the basics. Even something as simple as a story or some history about medicine will help you both become comfortable with one another. But if you feel you aren't yet ready to teach from the start, you can always do what you feel comfortable with. Even something as small as talking about the weather or what have you may help you progress enough until you're in your comfort zone. Does that make sense?"
