Kirsi was glad to spend a few days resting, following Winterfell's raid with Abaven. Though they hadn't won, they'd put a damn good fight anyway. Kirsi had no doubts that she'd done quite well for herself, even besting a woman whose build reminded her a bit of her own... though amusingly she'd reminded her, at least in terms of general appearance, of Song. It wasn't a surprise that he occupied part of her thoughts even during their raid, though if she'd been fighting him she wouldn't have put nearly as much energy into making sure she came out victorious. He, unfortunately, hadn't been quite so lucky in his fight, though it looked to her as though his opponent had been older and possibly better trained. Though she wished he'd won, she wasn't disappointed in him, knowing it only gave him room to improve - if the stakes had been higher she had no doubt he would've pulled through.

But there was no use dwelling on what had been done, instead focusing on what lay ahead of them would be more fruitful. Rising from a brief, sleepless rest, Kirsi headed toward the den that she and Song had dug together. It was late afternoon, not quite evening, but the sky was cloudy and the heavy clouds overhead obscured the sun, making it seem much darker out. Snow was on the horizon, the northern woman could tell that much - she sniffed at the air briefly before picking up her pace, arriving at their den after a few minutes.

Song had gone all out, but he hadn’t come out victorious. He put up a good fight, but in the end he knew he was a better crafter than he was a warrior. Still, he didn’t shirk his duties and his weaknesses were revealed to give him a better idea of where he was exactly. He knew that when they returned home he would have at least one sparring partner. As he thought of Kirsi though, training with her was the last thing on his mind. She was never far from his thoughts, and how could she not be? Kirsi was his closest friend, his beautiful companion, her likeness was frequently in his mind’s eye.

He was resting in the den that he shared with her, he’d worked for the first time at the base of the ship since the raid. It had been a mistake. He was sore all over when he lay back down to rest. His wounds hadn’t been intense but he felt drained. He felt himself stir from slumber at the sound of pawsteps at the entrance. Bright blue eyes blinked open and a warm grin spread over his features at seeing her face. His expression was sleepy but his emotions were clear on his features.

”Hey you.” He greeted her before stretching, rolling onto his back to expose his belly while reaching towards her with massive black paws before relaxing into the furs beneath him.

Though Kirsi knew just how tough she was, after all she had gone through, she was glad to put that on display for the rest of Winterfell - as well as to Song. Despite the fact that the two of them had gotten quite close, there was much about her life he didn't know.. and if he underestimated the quite small woman, though she had a feeling he didn't, she hoped that thought had been swiftly corrected. Likewise she had a feeling she'd never know if Song had ever underestimated her, not that it really mattered either way, but it was hard to keep those thoughts from stirring in her mind as she moved to greet him.

"Hey to you, sleepyhead," she returned his greeting warmly, her smile faint but visible. Her icy blue eyes sparkled with visible interest as she watched him roll over onto his back. "All rested up from the raid?" At least he looked like he was quite comfortable, and was no doubt quite rested now. All the better, since snow was no doubt coming soon. Being exhausted and sore was never a fun thing, and a snow storm made such a condition much less ideal. Raising a brow in inquiry, she moved to join her, lowering her head to his belly and looking up at him.

Maybe he hadn’t done quite his best in the raid, but his opponent was more than impressive. Besides, Song was more of a tinkerer these days than a fighter, but he was here for Winterfell whenever he was called upon. Kirsi wore a soft smile as she approached, her brilliant eyes flashing as she greeted him in return. He might have slept in just a little. She didn’t chastize him too strongly, and seemed content to join him at least.

Song would be forever stunned by Kirsi’s beauty, and as she settled in on his belly and looked up at him this time would be no different. His gaze grew soft as he admired her and how close they were. ”And then some. How about you?” He chuckled, making fun of his current sleeping habits. ”You look lovely as always.” Song leaned forward a little awkwardly to nuzzle her blue streaked cheek. ”Any grand plans for your day?” He asked lightly as he admired her unabashedly.

Once Kirsi had feared for what the future had in store for her, but now it seemed a less pressing worry. Though she had plenty of trauma to work through, no likely nearly entirely on her own, she was beginning to grow quite fond of her life within Winterfell and the group of wolves she was beginning to surround herself with, of course with Song at the very center of it all for her. For now she was content to grow her own skills and though she knew she needed to spend more time engaging with the rest of Winterfell, she wasn't going anywhere and didn't think she necessarily needed to hurry.

"I'd say so," she answered him in response, grinning a bit more widely now. Hopefully their next raid would be upon them soon; Kirsi only wished she could hang back in any future raids to watch Song himself fight, but wanted to participate more than she wanted to be a voyeur, unfortunately. She had no doubt he'd tell her anything she missed afterwards. For a moment she wondered if he'd gotten a good look at her during her fight... her first partner had been quite the beauty herself. Had Song noticed? "And you, as handsome as ever. Sleep clearly suits you." Her tone was lightly teasing as she looked up at him, clearly amused. "I didn't have anything particular in mind, unless you do."

No matter how close they were today Song didn’t know the deep traumas that still haunted his little love. He wouldn’t leave her side willingly, and was there for her however she needed him to be. They were part of the pack but if Song broke it down she was one of his highest priorities. He loved to see her smile and he adored waking up in the morning and finding her in his arms. Song didn’t want it any other way.

She teased him lightly as he mentioned how much he had slept but he grinned in retaliation. His thoughts were not really on the raid, they were easily consumed by the woman in front of him. He wouldn’t cease to be astounded at her beauty, and even more that she’d allowed him into her life. He chuckled at her words, but felt the warmth of her compliment.

”Sleep?” He joked as she asked what it was that he had in mind. ”Maybe we should get some training in, I think you owe me a spar.” He raised an eyebrow in suggestion, though he was loath to separate their forms when she was so close.

Though she wasn't quite sure how life had taken her down this path, she had no complaints. Here, in Winterfell, she felt as though she was free to be a new wolf - hopefully one that could leave her past behind her. At first she'd feared she couldn't quite escape it, but now this place - and Song too - felt like a lovely refuge, like a place she could thrive rather than hide away. Never had she anticipated Song would become that for her, but now that they were here she found no reason to question any of it too deeply. Things here simply felt right.

"Do you think you're awake enough to fight me?" She teased back easily, quirking a brow as the faintest hint of a smirk began to tug at her lips and sparkle in her vivid blue stare as it fixated on him more closely. "A spar sounds lovely. Can't let these muscles waste away, you know." Another raid would be happening before long, and a life of inactivity had never really suited her. As much as Kirsi appreciated some leisure time she'd never really lived an idle life and she wasn't about to start now.

Song thought that he would have been mapping the world with his brother at this point in his life, but so much had changed since he’d last seen him. Not that he craved that like he once had, life where he was seemed beyond perfect. He lived in a land as wild as olden days, he served a pack that kept him safe and gave him a purpose. Beyond that though he’d found a wolf that brought out the best of him, who he felt connected to. Who he wanted to share his life with. Kirsi was so much more than anything he’d ever expected to find.

”Haha!” He chuckled as she teased him relentlessly. ”You sound like you want to find out.” Song observed as he aimed to reach forward and nip playfully at her cheek. A spar it would be too, she agreed and Song aimed to find his paws before helping her to her own dainty feet. Unless she wanted things to get rough in other ways, they were better off finding more room. ”There’s that little clearing down the path we could make use of.” He offered, but would give her the final decision.

Their dynamic was one she hadn't quite figured out - and truthfully Kirsi wasn't in any hurry too. Delving in too deeply into another had only gotten her in trouble before. Though she hardly regretted her life before this, things certainly would've easier and infinitely less painful had she taken a different path. But now wasn't the time for such thoughts; instead she was focused solely on Song and his suggestion that they spar. Working her muscles was a good idea, after the raid they needed to work to keep themselves from getting too stiff. Inactivity tended to do that anyway, but even more so after more strenuous events.

"Indeed," Kirsi chuckled as she finally decided to pull herself upright, helped by him. Clearly he wanted to find out, too. "That sounds like a plan. Race you there, winner gets the first move," she suggested, slipping past him and making to block his path as she headed down the way he'd pointed out. No doubt her lead was unfair, but she wasn't being serious anyway.. and she doubted a head start would really ensure a victory in the first place in a spar against him.

Song could have easily dived deeper with Kirsi, but he was enjoying the easy laid back relationship that they were forming. He could easily say that she was the wolf he cared most for in the world, and being beside her made him feel complete. He tried not to put too much thought into the future, being in the here and now was much better for everyone. And right here and right now he was going to spar his lady friend.

The Destruction man felt excitement run through him as Kirsi upped the stakes and increased the challenge before them. A race to a spar. He grinned as she slipped past him and raced out the den. He chuckled darkly and followed behind her before they got out onto the open ground. She had a good lead on him, but he could tell she wasn’t taking her challenge too seriously. His stride was longer but Song didn’t push himself and the two of them would arrive at mostly the same time. Kirsi just slightly ahead.

”Alright speed demon. Your move.” He chuckled amusedly as he turned to face her. Defenses up and his brow furrowed as he growled playfully, but knowing she would take every moment of their spar seriously.

Kirsi had no doubt she'd win the little race that she'd given herself the head start in, and thus ensure she'd get the first move. This time she had no intention of going lightly on him though. They'd both proven they were capable warriors during their last raid - and she hoped that during the next raid they might ensure victories for them both. Of course, they needed to train if that was what they wanted to happen, even if they were only practicing against one another, it was better than not at all.

She hardly hesitated to strike, as always hoping to use her agility to her advantage. One wrong move and he'd no doubt overpower her but she had the blessing of speed on her side. First she dove him, aiming straight for his face, but at the last second she dodged to her right and swung her hindquarters around, aiming for his left right leg. Though she was small, she had no shortage of passion behind her bite, as she grabbed hard on his leg and hoped she might cause him to lose his balance.

He had no intention of winning, and was even less surprised when Kirsi won their little race. She was swift, and though his legs were longer hers moved faster. They’d both proved their worth to winterfell in the last raid, though he’d not won anything. Kirsi proved she was not a wolf to be trifled with. Even with the raid he felt a little rusty, spending more time crafting than practicing his skills. Hopefully this would warm him up enough for their next raid.

She didn’t hesitate to leap after him, her jaws spread as she aimed for his fece. Song moved exactly how she wanted him to and as he dodged getting a face full of teeth she changed target and grabbed hold of his leg. He cried out more in surprise than pain as he redistributed his weight. In retaliation Song aimed to grasp Kirsi’s scruff to gain control of her movements. He was also doing it to hopefully regain the balance she threw off.

Song moved just as she'd hoped, though truthfully she wouldn't have gone for his face anyway. The last thing she wanted to do was mark up his pretty features, she'd do anything to avoid that, even if this was a real fight - which it definitely was not. She was taking it a touch more serious than their usual spars though, at least in terms of her intensity, and she wouldn't be at all surprised if he didn't expect the way she pulled hard on his leg.

He didn't give in so easily, instead leaning to grab her scruff to try to control her movements. Normally the loss of control would've infuriated her, but she trusted Song - perhaps more than she'd ever intended to - and she knew he wouldn't do anything to hurt her. But she still didn't want him to win, so she wouldn't slacken beneath him. Instead he tried to lunge forward, no doubt unable to completely leave his grip but maybe the sudden force - enough to pull, but not enough to make her skin tear - would cause him to release her.

Song wasn’t so worried about his face, but it was better that he didn’t get caught by her pearly teeth. She was close enough that he could appreciate them, especially with them sinking into his flesh. What was a little blood between lovers? He managed to gain hold of her scruff and grinned through her beautiful blue fur. He didn’t want to cause her real damage and as she jerked away he’d release her. Instead Song would aim to wrap his arms around her chest and roll the both of them to the ground. Before his eyes he felt his resolve devolve from serious spar to suggestive tumble. Being in close quarters like this with adrenaline racing through his body brought him to an experience not yet shared with the lithe woman. Song felt his excitement renew as he aimed to wrap his teeth around her throat to end their tustle.
