The woman heard plenty of native fauna around but could see none of it. She decided to sniff around and see if she could find anything that she could reach. Attor scented fresh blood to her north, deeper into the woods, and so she trotted towards it.
After a few minutes of travel, the woman stumbled upon a coyote eagerly chowing down on a recently downed rabbit. Attor decided there was enough meat left that it was reasonable for her to simply steal.
"Oi, I'd like to kindly ask you to give me that," she rumbled out, her hackles raised as the coyote's eyes turned to hers. The narrowing of their eyes hinted that Attor's initial belief that coyotes were cowardly, was false. At least for this individual.
Attor snarled low in her chest, stalking closer to the coyote as it barked back an aggressive reply. Attor lowered herself into a defensive stance, hoping to waste the least amount of energy to scare off or even kill the smaller creature.

He’d made his way east, enjoying his strength and wellbeing and exploring. Maybe he’d go to the Bifrost. He hadn’t been yet. Today, however, would prove to have other plans for him.
Charcoal black ears perked at a growling voice ahead, and a coyote bark in return. He dropped into a stealthy walk, well-practiced from hunting, and near-silent. Soon enough he was able to spot a woman and a coyote squaring off. The coyote seemed hungry enough to fight off a larger predator that itself, and he made his decision and move in one fell swoop as the coyote launched an attack on the wolf.
Cairo, fully armored, surged forward, coming in low and swiping a bear claw-bracered left paw out and across the coyote’s haunches, claws raking deep gouges into the animal’s flash as the ‘yote yelped in alarm and agony, distracted from the initial player in front of him and twisted to defend itself, leaving an opening for the woman as Cairo swayed his head to the side, the coyote’s jaws clacking shut on the air by his cheek.

The woman was quick enough to notice the opening, scolding herself for becoming distracted by the man's weapon. Attor pushed herself forward, angry snarl tearing from her chest as she clamped her jaws tightly around the animal's midsection. The woman wasted no time before she twisted her head, teeth sinking into the creature. Attor didn't want to kill the coyote, but if its aggression was continued after she gave it a second chance, well...there wasn't much she could say to defend its actions.
While considering what to do with the creature, she felt small pricks along her shoulder. The woman dropped the coyote, stepping back to investigate the scratches. After licking the small cuts to her shoulder, her hackles raised in a promise of retaliation. The woman had planned to drop the coyote and tell it to scram, but she couldn't tell if it was either crazed or just stupid. Her gaze flicked to the man, pondering his next course of action. She wouldn't blame him for killing the coyote but torturing the animal was of no use. It was clear the coyote had no sense of reason, to try and fight off two grown wolves.

The woman seemed distracted be his arrival, but he was able to keep the coyote distracted, snapping his jaws at the creature’s face to ward it off from his neck as it dove in, but the other wolf sprang in and savaged the coyote’s middle with her own bite, though the ‘yote was quick to retaliate, and the woman dropped him to check the wounds.
Puzzling as that was, to stop and look at one’s wounds while a threat was still present and fighting, Cairo used the coyote’s distraction to his advantage, raking his upper canines over its hip as it sought to press the distracted female wolf.
He bit deep, dancing back and ripping his teeth free as the coyote again twisted to face him, back arched, jaws gaping in the typical, fluffed out coyote threatening stance, ready to dart in at him.

They had not moved far from the man, and so the she-wolf peered up at him expectantly. For some reason-that Attor didn't want to admit-she felt strange killing in front of a stranger, and so she expected him to complete the dirty work. Her eyes darted to peer down at the coyote, which had again twisted towards her face in an attempt to bite her. Attor released it from her grip and was quick to slam one of her paws down onto its upper back, keeping it in place. Her gaze flicked quickly to the man as she realized how stupid it was of her to insist that the man kill the coyote when she clearly had the upper hand. The woman quickly moved her jaws down to clamp around the coyote's neck, and with a sickening crunch, the coyote's struggle stopped.
The woman was quick to move away from the coyote, maw wrinkling in disgust as she spit out the blood in her mouth. Her gaze then flicked to the man who she watched carefully. She began looking between the man and the rabbit as she considered her options. She just wanted to eat.

He warded off the coyote with another snap of his jaws, but the ‘yote was quickly dealt with. It seemed the woman had borne quite enough of the animal’s aggression.
Within moments the coyote was pinned, and she glanced at Cairo, as if expecting him to deal the death blow, which he wouldn’t have had qualms in doing. But she made a quick decision and dispatched the critter, quickly retreating from it in visible distaste. Cai didn’t really blame her—coyotes weren’t one of his favorite creatures. It was instinctive, passed down for generations. Coyotes wouldn’t hesitate to kill wolf pups if they had a chance, following instinct to damage the population of their larger cousins.
She was wary, visibly, and he caught the flashed glance to the… ah, that was what the coyote was defending. A rabbit. Cairo shrugged with a grin, gesturing to the rabbit. “You defended it, so it’s yours. I’ve plenty of food on me and more at home besides.”
He shifted away, giving her plenty of space, pondering whether to head on to the Bifrost or back home. His eyes flicked to the coyote, considering. Then he dismissed the thought. It was too beat up in the hide to make much use of the pelt, and coyote wasn’t a delicacy he would savor in any case save desperation and starvation.
