After speaking with Theory, Allegro had gone to where his old den had been once upon a time. He found that it was still unoccupied after all this time, but it had gotten overgrown and would need at least a little digging to get it back to its former glory. He considered putting in the work in order to keep his old den, but at the end of the day he decided to just start fresh. It would be like a new start all around, the marker for his new beginning with Abaven. He had spent that first night out in the open under the stars, but it had been a pleasant spring evening so he hadn't minded.
His first order of business for his second day though was to get his new home prepared. After some debating he finally decided on a small hill side that overlooked the winding river that worked its way through the plains. He didn't see any other dens immediately near here so he would have some privacy, but it also had a fairly nice view. It felt peaceful here which seemed like it should be pretty high on his priority list since this was where he would be sleeping. Allegro set to work digging out his new den, quickly becoming grateful that he was only building this for himself so it didn't have to be very large.
About half way through the dull ache coming from his previously broken leg made him stop. Logically he knew that it was healed, but it seemed like any amount of continuous strain or stress made a lingering pain return. With a sigh he padded down to the river so he could begin washing the dirt off of his paws, limping slightly as he attempted to keep his weight off the leg in question. He liked to believe that eventually all of this would just be a vague, distant memory, but it just seemed to be clinging to him like burrs getting stuck in his fur.
