Anything? Anything at all?
Returning from searching

She and Naiche had spent the entirety of the previous day and most of the night traveling down though Auster and back again and she had a heavy heart as they returned the following day. Granted, they hadn't been able to search the entire southern continent in that time, but they had covered a lot of ground and there wasn't a single trace of Malalia's scent anywhere. When she hadn't noticed her scent at the land bridge she had already been fairly certain that they wouldn't find her there, but they had pressed on anyway. She wouldn't have been able to face Sirius if she couldn't say that they had throughly searched for their missing Reaper. Tamsyn came to a stop in the common area at the center of the Tall Grass Plains and sat back on her haunches with a heavy sigh. Her paws and legs were sore and she was happy to be back home. She wanted to go find Resin, but she knew she had to follow through with her promise to Sirius to lead this search party. She needed to see if anyone else had any more luck than they had in Auster. She lifted her muzzle and let out a howl for anyone that she had paired up and sent out on their own search mission. She wasn't sure if they had all returned to the Armada's lands just yet, but if they were anywhere close to their territory then they should still hear her calling them back. |

Natha trekked back toward Ashen Armada. She and Sedna had combed through the northeast and checked around the borders of Abaven but they came across nothing helpful. No scent, no signs of struggle. It was certainly concerning. There had been a moment where she thought she'd caught the scent near the falls but it was inconclusive and then with a second sniff she wasn't sure it had been Malalia at all.
She arrived in the tall grass plains and headed toward the rendezvous point as she heard Tamsyn's howl. The grass parted smoothly on either side of her as she greeted Tamsyn with a nod before taking a seat. She sighed. "We haven't had any luck. I thought maybe I caught her scent near Sunset Falls but upon closer examination it was nothing useful. I hope the others had better luck."

Hanako had done far too much walking lately and it was all for nothing. From Valhalla to Fireside she'd roamed, searching high and low for a wolf who just couldn't be found. Idly she couldn't help but wonder if Malalia had wandered off on her own accord, that she'd thrown her responsibilities and family to the wind and just..gone. It was so far removed from what the Wraith had been told about her, heavily contrasting her kind and caring personality that Sirius had described, but the fact that there were no clues or hints to her whereabouts made even the naive Hanako a little sceptical. She felt a little mean to jump to such a conclusion, to even think for a moment Malalia was intentionally causing such worry and heartbreak but what else was there? A lot actually. Maybe they'd started their search too late, the clues long scrubbed from the earth by the elements. But if that was the case then they were left stuck in an awful position, one Hanako didn't know how to wriggle out of.
Stepping through the grass Hanako soon arrived on the scene. She'd been planning to head to the communal area anyway but the call only made her quicken her steps. Natha and Tamsyn were already present as Hanako folded herself down at a respectful distance beside the lynx, her belly touching the grass as her tail curled around her side. She'd already had a bit of time to rest but her legs were still sore and achy, she was sure Sirius wouldn't mind if she kept to the pack lands for a while. Even if only to let her poor nose heal as it was tender and still a little red, sniffing hurt far more than she'd like.
"We didn't even find a whiff of her." Hanako admitted, a little frustrated that she'd put in so much hard work to gain nothing.

Naiche showed up shortly behind the other wolves. He had stayed near Tamsyn most the way but there had been no reason for him to be part of this meet-up. He had been with Tamsyn after all so she knew his results. The young wolf was admittedly a bit tired himself and sore himself. Naiche prided himself on his stamina but that had been a lot more running than he ever had reason to do before.
No one appeared overjoyed. Well, it didn't mean no one had found anything. Dunkan still hadn't shown up to report on his findings and Sirius was not here yet as well. Only one group would be able to find her, right? Naiche remained quiet as his mind roamed on possibilities and what he had learned of the reaper. It wasn't pleasant to think but he expected she was likely dead. Her rank wasn't one that would be handed out to someone who would just leave the pack without a word, right? She had to be strong for the station also and he imagined that meant a little problem wouldn't stop her. These were all assumptions from limited knowledge of course but its hard to have no opinion.
Naiche hoped he was wrong.
