Earlier in the night Hyperion had been convinced he'd caught a shark. He now knew better. Why? Because this time he'd caught a shark and the beast was dragging him through the waves like he was nothing. Twice now he'd almost drowned but the danger didn't register because this was hands down the best adventure of his life. His teeth were clenched around the base of the beast's top fin and his paws were scissored around what he thought was its belly. As for his hind legs...they just sort of trailed behind them both and occasionally got whacked by the shark's tail when it put on a burst of speed.
He was running low on air and wasting what little he had left on laughing when the shark's back breached the surface again. Hyperion gulped in air; the act less of a deliberate means to prolonging his life and more of the by product of laughing too hard but wanting to continue. This was great fun. He didn't know why he'd wasted time on girls earlier in the evening when he could have been riding sharks instead.
The shark dove down again, but this time when it did Hyperion felt sand under his hind legs. Seizing his chance, he planted his paws and heaved backwards towards what he thought was the direction of the shoreline. The shark ride promptly turned into a rodeo. It bucked and twisted, whipping his legs and mashing his balls with its tail as it tried to get away. Somehow he managed to make it to shore. Once there he beached the shark and then threw back his head in a raucous howl. "Wooo yeah! I caught a shark!" He stumbled over to its face and just about fell across it as he went to point an accusing paw at it. "Thought you could drown me but you didn't! Ha! Who's the champion? I'm the champion!"
A bit tired now, Hyperion flopped across the shark's back. Then and only then did his surroundings register. Where was the party? He sat up and looked around. There, to his right, he could clearly see the glow of the fire and hear the voices of the party goers, but they were too far away to have gotten a good show. What a bummer.
Hyperion gave the shark a friendly slap on the rump and debated hauling it back out into the water for another ride. If he pointed it in the right direction maybe it would carry him back to the party and the women who would surely get a kick out of his bravery.

Tamsyn wandered through the throws of the party goers with her new found confidence and a certain looseness in her steps from the copious amounts of spirited drinks she had consumed thus far. She was in that perfect storm of not really feeling like she was too drunk where she could definitely keep drinking, but being drunk enough that any of her concerns and inhibitions she might have had before were long gone. She was lingering near the campfire, letting herself get lost in the crowd for a while, when some loud shouting and movement off to the side near the shore line caught her attention. Curious mint eyes looked out toward the new commotion and her brows lifted in surprise when she spotted a very interesting, brightly marked man with... a shark? She started slipping her way past the other wolves that were gathered around the fire, watching with a bit of disbelief as he laid across the shark that he had seemingly caught out of the ocean. She didn't now how that was physically possible, but she also couldn't deny what she was seeing... unless she was starting to hallucinate things. She honestly didn't know what was in all the drinks she had enjoyed so far. There very well could have been something a little stronger than just alcohol in one of them as far as she knew. With a desire to know if what she was seeing was real or not, she started making her way across the dark beach to see for herself. Right before she reached the star-marked man a movement out of the corner of her eye made her jump, thinking for sure that she was just about to step on a crab that was inches away from pinching her leg. When her gaze darted over to look at the supposed crab she was confused to see that there wasn't anything there at all. The same sort of imagined movement pulled her eyes back over to her other side and she made a quick sideways hop to get away from what turned out to be nothing. She sighed and gave a little shake of her head. What had been in those drinks? She finally found her way over to the shark that was flopped out across the black sands and reached a tentative paw out to poke at its side, realizing it wasn't a figment of her overly active imagination when her paw met the wet, weirdly rough skin of the shark. Tam blinked with surprise and looked up at the man that had caught it with a bemused grin. "How did you manage that?!" |

Finding the shark had been a stroke of luck. He'd been cruising along in the waves when the young predator had caught his eye. It had probably come into the shallows in search of an easy meal. How could it have known a drunk wolf would be on the prowl for something extra stupid to do? Seeing that telltale fin breach the surface had been the highlight of Hyperion's night. He'd thrown caution to the wind and jumped on the beast immediately and had given its size, slightly longer than his body length, no thought. The opportunity was simply too great to pass up; he couldn't have stopped himself if he'd tried.
Hyperion was oblivious to the approach of the woman. It wasn't until she asked him a question that he became aware of her presence. Startled, Hyperion jumped, lost his balance and drunkenly rolled over the back of the shark. He lay on his back in the sand for a second before lifting his head to look at the wolf who had addressed him. Seeing it was a woman, his startled expression quickly disappeared and he fixed her with a cocky grin. "Ah, well, you see..." He scrambled to his paws and threw a leg over the shark's back so he could lean on it while talking to the woman. "I was out in the water with a couple of wolves when this girl started yelling about a shark and I couldn't just let her get eaten, ya know? So I jumped on it." He slapped the shark's rump again. "And here we are."
He waved a paw for emphasis then added, "Wildest thing I've ever done. Did you see its teeth? They could take a leg right off." Hyperion leaned in and gave her a coquettish smile. There were a lot of guys on this beach but he doubted any of them were offering shark rides. If he leaned into that maybe he could get lucky. "Wanna take him for a ride? I bet he has another one in him. I know I do."

She stumbled back a bit herself and blinked with surprise at his clearly startled reaction and watched as the larger man went tumbling over the shark beside him only to land on his back at her feet. Her mint eyes watched him wide eyed with a hint of an amused grin lingering on her muzzle. Soon enough though he seemed to get his bearings and got back to his feet just so he could throw a leg over the shark's back. His story was fantastical at best, but she honestly couldn't think of any sort of situation that would be more realistic than that so she had no choice than to believe him. "That's pretty impressive," she admitted honestly. It was stupid and dangerous, but still impressive all the same. At the mention of this shark's impressive teeth she turned her attention to the shark's mouth, crouching down and peering into its mouth to confirm that it did indeed have the teeth that could rip a leg off. Sure enough, the impressive shark had impressive teeth to go along with it. The mere suggestion of trying to ride this shark for any reason earned him a very insistent shake of her head to deny that possibility before the idea could get any sort of momentum. "Noooo, absolutely not!" She took a couple steps back from the shark just for good measure. She was drunk, but she wasn't that drunk. She turned her attention back to the male that looked like his fur was mimicked the night sky and realized that she wasn't nearly drunk enough to ride a shark... but she was most certainly drunk enough to do something else... or someone else in this case. "I've seen wolves fight a lot of stuff... bears, lions, tigers... A shark is a new one for me," she commented with a laugh. "I think I'll leave the shark riding to you." She gave him a curious, suggestive glance and added, "Unless maybe there's something else you might want to do instead?" |

The woman's vehement response in the negative gave him pause. Who would turn down the chance to ride a shark? Not him, that was for sure. He'd cruise around on another one in a heartbeat. Ah well, the 'ride a shark' thing had been a bit anyway. The moment he'd realized what kind of party this one was turning out to be his priorities had shifted. How could they not have when the beach was teeming with wolves mad with lust? He wasn't sure what the host had done to make everyone throw off their inhibitions, but he was dying to know the secret. This was the kind of party he'd throw every time he stumbled across a beach, if only he knew the secret. So, ride a shark? Yes. Abandon the shark in favor of a beautiful woman? That was a no brainer.
Hyperion cocked his head, leaning hard on the shark, and smirked at the woman. He was just going to go for it. Why not, right? The beach was full of other women so if he'd read her wrong and she took offense, no harm no foul, they'd go their separate ways and he'd get his rocks off elsewhere. "Well," he said in a cavalier tone. "I did say I have another ride left in me." He beamed up at her cheekily and then gestured around at the secluded cove they were in. "Privacy is in short supply just now. In my opinion it would be a shame to waste such a nice spot..." Which was why he would be directing the next woman who took interest in him to this location if this one turned him down.

She watched the shift in his expression as he took her suggestive tone and ran with it, making an even more daring comment in return. It made her face flush under her dark fur and she glanced away with a slightly embarrassed, but amused grin. It seemed like she had gone from one extreme to the other from Iroh who had been more subtle and physical in his suggestions to this wolf who was far more boisterous and humorous in his advances. She liked both ways, it was just a completely different experience either way. She looked around the cove they were in as he gestured to it and she had to admit that he was right for pointing out the bit of privacy they had found int the otherwise crowded beach. She had already made up her mind even before he mentioned the secluded spot they were in, but it was kind of nice none of the less to have a little section of the beach to call their own for the moment. She wasn't exactly the type to dive into such activities right in the middle of everything - though she had no doubt that some were after seeing how some of the other wolves were behaving. "Hmm... I think you're right," she agreed as she brought her bright gaze back to his, giving him a slight grin. "I certainly wouldn't want to let such a nice spot go to waste..." Tamsyn padded closer with far more confidence than she thought she had in her and silently thanked all the drinks she had consumed so far for breaking down her inhibitions for a moment. She leaned in to place a small kiss on his muzzle before following it up with another and another, each one growing a bit more heated. |

He'd taken a chance with this woman and it sounded like it might pay off. Not bad for a shot in the dark on a woman who'd only come over to look at his shark. Ah, speaking of, he probably needed to push the poor bastard back into the waves otherwise it might not last much longer. Already its flapping fins were moving kinda slow. Oh, but- The woman stepped up to him and boldly began to kiss him. All thoughts of the shark melted away. It didn't matter that the sad gasping bastard was literally at his feet. Hyperion forgot all about it.
Hyperion stood up slowly, one paw still on the shark for balance, and leaned into the woman's passionate kiss. That shared moment quickly turned into another and another, and Hyperion found himself stepping over the shark in search of more. He was halfway over the shark when he finally broke free just long enough to murmur, "The cavern." There was a far amount of distance between them and the party goers, but they were still in view. She'd spotted him with the shark, after all. Not that he was opposed to where they were now. Hell, he was fine with kissing over a gasping shark. What he was afraid of was getting too involved only to have her get cold feet at the prospect of an audience.

When he gave her a simple reminder of the cavern that awaited just behind her she let her muzzle part from his and cast a quick glance back toward the other party goers. If she was being honest she had completely forgotten about the other participants in this night of wild events. If he hadn't pointed their surroundings out she probably wouldn't have even noticed, but since he had she was happy to move into a slightly more secluded area. "Ah, right," she replied with a bit of a chuckle, looking back at her chosen partner for the moment. She didn't really realize how breathless she had gotten during their brief make out session either until she spoke and her response gave it away. The poor shark was also long forgotten as she turned away from it to dip into the cavern and out of sight of the rest of the party goers. Once she was within the more isolated darkness where the light of the campfire was blocked off from view, she turned back to the male that looked like he might have been plucked out of space with swirling patches of flame breaking up the black and white speckled background of his fur. She realized with a start that she didn't even know his name, but at this point she wasn't entirely sure she cared. This whole night had just turned into her pushing herself so far beyond her limits that she wasn't sure they would even exist when this was all over. Tamsyn leaned in to resume the heated kissing that had been briefly interrupted, her ears flicking back against her head as that warmth that was quickly becoming more familiar to her began to creep up her spine and spread throughout the rest of her body. |

He couldn't get over his luck at finding this party. Was all of Boreas like this? God, he hoped so. If parties like this were the norm he'd never go home because this was great. Since when did wolves throw open their caches and invite complete strangers to get drunk on the beach with them? Please, please let it be all the time. He'd had more drink and attention in the span of a few hours than...well, saying all of his adult life would be a little underwhelming since he'd just turned two this season, so how about since he'd first been introduced to sex and liquor. That at least doubled the days he'd been interested in partying.
"I'll make it worth it," he promised with a quick kiss before she pulled away. Hyperion watched the woman step towards the cave. Oh this was so happening. He leaped over the shark and raced after her. Soon they were enveloped in darkness. She turned back to him, her lips finding his, and for a moment he was lost to all but their softly echoing breaths and the taste of her on his tongue. He reached out in the hopes of hooking one of her legs and pulling her in closer while leaning in himself. From her mouth his lips ventured to her ear. A kiss there began a journey over the crook of her jaw and down into the hollow of her throat.
He wanted to run his paws through her fur so that's what he began to do; tracing the lines of her neck and shoulders beneath the silken strands. Perhaps he was taking too many liberties but it was she who had initiated this, not he, so he felt he could confidently do away with reservations in this moment. A familiar ache had settled in his belly, demanding he seek relief in the sweet heat of this beautiful stranger. Hyperion was ready to get lost in her and if she didn't direct him in the manner she wished to share with him then he would assume she was satisfied with dealer's choice.
