Naiche had to admit it was amusing watching her swimming out all wet, he tried to hide that in his encouragement of her. He did forget the amusement with the compliment on his teaching though. It felt fun teaching surprisingly.

Naiche nodded, “you were doing good there, and yes you shouldn’t look back when you are running forwards.” The last bit bluntly a hint of amusement, but more of a sharked joke versus implied insult. Naiche looked at the landscape knowing what he wouldn’t see. “Well, that one is gone for good. Do you remember what it smelled like?” Maybe this time she could be the one to sniff it out.

If she learned to enjoy hunting the rabbit, at some point instinct should kick in to make her want to catch it instead of just chase. When that happened would it scare her at first or would she realize the rightness of it? It was probably best that not happen this time.
“Remember, even if you do catch up to it, you aren’t attempting to grab it, just seeing if you get close enough you could do so.” She might also feel better with a lack of pressure, maybe. Heck if Naiche knew what he was doing. He kept labeling her as a large pup to try and no go into ‘angry lecture the coward’ mode.
