With the sun barely creeping up over the horizon, Magnus hadn't hesitated to grab Mortis and take him for an early morning hunt. They'd be looking for something big today, preferably a large cat to skin and give to the little girl as an offer of apology. He really hadn't meant to upset her by wanting to move in, but maybe some kind of gift would earn them both an apology. One could hope, right?
He took Mortis to the woods and paused just before crossing the territory border. "It's early, but we should be able to find something big to take down today." He looked to Mortis with a smile. Maybe if they got lucky, they would be able to bring more than one carcass home and not only give the gift of a pelt to Siren, but also some extra pelts and meat for the cache. "You ready?"

Mortis wasn’t so sure about an apology gift to Siren, he felt like the mental trauma cycling through her mind would take a lot more than a coat to fix. He was however thrilled to be spending some time with Magnus. He would take any excuse to go hunting with the older wolf. He was family to Mortis, and a kinder one then his Warlord dad.
He sent his kea ahead to scout, and his leopard, one of Bast’s children, stayed at his heels. He looked across and down at Magnus. It still shocked him every time he looked at the older wolf, he felt like Magnus should be taller than him. “I am!” he agreed. He might be higher ranking, and a hulking beast of a wolf, but he had a child's heart and looked up at Mags as an authority figure. He would take his cues from the other wolf.

Frankly, Magnus wasn't sure that Siren would like anything either. But maybe a nice coat or a blanket would be a good gesture for her and let her know that not everyone is out to get her. Sometimes wolves can be nice, too. Of course he supposed someone raised in a bad environment could think that everyone was out to get them, but Magnus and Mortis certainly weren't going to do anything to the girl. Not only would Sirius string them up from the tallest tree, but it wasn't right. Maybe someone else thought it was, but not with their morals.
Even if the girl didn't want their offer of good faith, it meant something and at least they tried. Whatever they found today would at least give them the practice, knock one more predator threat out of the area, and give him and Mortis some good bonding time. Magnus always looked forward to time he spent with Mortis, especially when they were doing something productive like hunting or patrolling. Of course he loved just spending time with the boy, shooting the shit and doing nothing important, but if Mortis was going to be the Warlord one day, he needed all the practice he could get even if he was well versed in skills.
"Good, start looking for some tracks then," He offered a nod and carried on with his nose to the earth looking for a scent or a track after some large predator. He was hoping for a cat, something they could easily take down together but offered a decent enough coat that maybe Siren would accept their offer of kindness.
