Bellyache

Recluse had struggled to pick up her half brother's trail, she'd been forced to wander blindly from Ashen's neighboring lands, doubling back a few times to try different directions, then finally she'd caught the barest hint of his path, she grunted and then continued her journey, admittedly she was impressed the young boy had gotten as far as he did, even having to stop for a day as the sun peeked over the horizon. So it was the next night that she scoped out where her half-brother had settled. Recluse would launch herself up to the top of one of the stones, and settle herself calmly on it's surface. Her ears were perked but she closed her eyes, running through what she knew she wanted to do. Some part of her was desperate to try and put the little family she actually recognized together... as if they could ever be a real family... the kind she'd seen reflected in her cousins... but that would depend on Chimera, on if the boy could prove he had enough sense to control himself. And if he had a response to the information Mortis had shared about his behavior. Siren she knew she could mold, could make into a perfect little princess for her kingdom... but Chimera was a rogue agent, and she'd not trade the safety of her half-sister for a wild card she had no idea she could control. After his departure from his former home. Chimera had wandered, looking for a place to nurse his wounds. Venom had done a number on his shoulder. The deep furrows had attracted flies, which had then housed maggots in his skin. The young wolf only knew to smother them with mud and water. Now, the maggots were gone, but the wound hadn't been properly tended to. That was what Siren was for. She was supposed to take care of him and Venom had given her away as though she was nothing more than a piece of poorly tanned fur. The two-toned brute was still incensed over it. How dare she? And then she tried to justify it. By the gods, Venom would get hers. The brightness of day forced Chimera into hiding as well, so he didn't travel as far as he'd wished to. He had no trouble believing that Venom might send her Armada dogs after him to run him down. And so, when he came out of the alcove of rock in the evening and saw a wolf sitting upon one of the stone slabs, His pelt bristled. The dire boy walked stiffly out into the open. He held no fear. Mismatched eyes one seeing, one not, narrowed, looking up towards the pale woman. If she had something to say, she would say it. He wouldn't be the first to speak. "Speech" |

The change in scents would tell Recluse that her brother would come to her and Lilith, who had remained coiled around her neck as she usually did through the whole journey, hissed as much as in her ears. Recluse, flicked an ear in his direction, the only real sign she recognized he was here yet. She'd sit for a moment longer in the silence, waiting to see what he'd do. Then when he didn't move or say anything she sighed. "What no greeting for your big sister?" She asked, lifting to her paws and opening cherry eyes to look over him, the dimming light helped her own weak sight and she was more than comfortable in this lighting. She jumped nimbly from the stones, remembering the last time she'd been here, this time she hit the ground with all the fluidity of a cat. She'd stalk towards the boy, narrowing her eyes at him as she hissed her next words. "Or are you going to beat me too, that is what you do to your sisters isn't it?" She'd slide up at close to him as she could, making it clear how unthreatened she was by him. "Do you think it's appropriate to harm a princess?" She'd skitter away after that, musing aloud. "I suppose it's possible that's what happens when you actually are raised by our bastard father. How lucky should I consider myself that I escaped his toxic influence?" Recluse looked him over again as she wandered, pacing around the boy. "I wonder if you could be taught manners at this point, or if you're a lost cause." "Speech" Think |

Was she really that surprised that he didn't greet her? Recluse hadn't exactly been a presence in his life. None of them had. Not his father. Not his mother. Not his older siblings. Not his brother. Just Siren. He only had Siren. Just thinking of his tiny, weak sister raised the boys ire.
Recluse chose her next words poorly. Anger smoldered in the boy's pink, seeing eye and he glowered as he watched his sibling circle him. He wasn't threatened. Chimera never felt threatened. "So you're just like Venom then. You speak of princesses and yet it doesn't matter that she gave your blood away as though Siren was a common slave." Lips pulled back from curved killing fangs. "I'll bet she didn't even ask Siren if she wanted to leave." No. He knew that his little sister would never leave him voluntarily. "Nothing that this family does is appropriate," he growled. For as much as the Kleins believed themselves to be high and mighty, they were fucked up. Each and every one of them.
Chimera was sure that Venom had spun some sort of story in her favor. Recluse mentioned being raised by their father and the two- toned boy scoffed. "I raised myself. Hannibal is gone. Deathbelle is gone. It's always been me and Siren to fend for ourselves." He did the best that he could. Chimera had different needs than most wolves. Sometimes those needs brought Siren pain, but surely there had been more good than bad. Afterall, he loved his delicate little sister. If he didn't, she would have been dead long ago.

Despite her growing dislike for the boy she couldn't help but agree with his statement about Venom simply shipping their sister off and she couldn't help but laugh. "Oh I agree that Venom made a misstep, Siren deserves to choose where she wants to be." She paused her circling for a moment. "Which is what I gave her." She slid up beside the boy and leaned in to whisper in his ear. "Did you ask her if she wanted to be beaten, to become so hurt she fears life itself?" There was an edge to her voice, and she skittered away again. Her feelings on her brother were seemingly in constant flux, she had to admit she admired his response to the questioning of their father but she still wasn't going to forgive him for his abuses. "Then I have to assume you're simply rotten stock." She growled, watching him carefully. "I had hope you might be one to see reason but you seem unrepentant for your crimes against your own sister." She shrugged, and slunk further away from him. "A shame you've chosen not to know what she chose." -Exit Recluse unless stopped- "Speech" Think |
