Following a trail of stench and scat for miles, Magnus was on the hunt for someone that dared crossed the well marked borders of the Armada. It hadn't been by much, but certainly enough that he needed to teach the invader a lesson. It was a cat and he wasn't surprised. Besides Natha and the chosen companions of many Armada wolves, he despised the feline species and wished to rid the South of such vile pests. This one seemed small and young, perfect to bring back to aslatiel dead or alive, or even just barely so. She'd be thrilled to have something to kill, but if things didn't exactly go to plan perhaps she would enjoy a new fur instead.
His shoulders rolled as he tracked the animal, following it out a ways from the pack into a prairie where he assumed it would be hunting for an afternoon meal. Little did the cat know that such a meal would be a waste of effort and strength once the irritated wolf found it.

The scent of blood lingered in the air, a freshly made kill from the smell of it. Hattori had fought more than his fair share of predators lately and yet he found himself lured in by the smell, of the promise of action and conquest. He had nothing to prove, he knew his worth and was recovering nicely but it seemed as though in some sense or another he'd started to enjoy the bloodshed. It was not unheard of for a shinobi to feel that way but that was not the sort of man Hattori aimed to be. He did what had to be done, that's all. And yet there he was, striding through the prairie till his eyes locked upon a wolf who seemingly carried the same intent. From scent alone Hattori could tell that he was a wolf of the Armada, a fellow warrior. The shinobi said nothing as he regarded the stranger but his intent was clear enough, his talons ripped the grass as he showed of a flash of teeth, as if anticipating the taste of blood.
The cat wasn't so far ahead, hunched over a deer that was blinking slowly, calm, as it was eaten alive.

It hadn't taken him long to find the cat, lingering ahead with its face buried into the animal it had hunted and ate alive. Magnus wasn't keen on eating things alive, but cats were different creatures and seemed to enjoy the power that came with it. The poor animal though, Magnus couldn't help but feel some sympathy for it. What if he was eaten alive? The thought made him visibly shudder.
He hadn't noticed the other male at first, but a breeze carried their scent over and soon Magnus noticed him and the flash of his teeth as they both faced the cat. He was probably fine hunting it down and killing it on his own, but a little back up never hurt and the man looked to be as equally strong. The scent of Ashen covered his pelt, but he looked hardly like any of members he'd seen before. Writing them off as someone new, Magnus' gaze moved back to the young cougar as he steadied, preparing himself to run.
