Going away from the noise sounded like a good idea, didn’t it? You thought the danger was all above you, right? You were wrong. As you navigate around, one of the pillars by your side shifts and pins you. You find the grating of the pillars traps your tail, crushing the middle of it and causing it to bleed profusely! It feels as if it may be broken!

Kì̶̦̹͔̠͇͂̄̀ng Fire̴̢̡̝̹̭͚̲̫͔̔fly Guy

You enter the next room. It is small and curved like the inside of a geode. All around, fireflies buzz, lighting the room with a soft ambient glow that resonates within the smaller shards which dot the walls like a mosaic. In the center of the room, crystals grow up into a large throne and upon that throne sits a humanoid figure cloaked in a rough robe. Its eyes glitter and dance, and as it speaks it is as if many voices speak in unison from all around the room.

“You have entered my realm and come to see me with your own mortal eyes,” it says. The figure leans forward as if intrigued, you feel as if many eyes watch your every move. Behind you, a wall of fireflies block your path. “I can let you go, perhaps, if you give me something instead.”

Fireflies buzz around you ambivalently for a moment before wandering into the robe. The figure hums and leans forward, flickering intently, “Yes, that ring-tailed lemur is quite interesting, but so is your fertility. I want one- but you can decide which one. Or do you think you deserve to be free?”

All went peaceful but the way tha peace ended was beyond anything he could have seen coming. An spike from near him fell over his tail,breaking it in the place it hit. A whimp scaped his maw as he fell down with blood coming from the wound. Maw winkled from the pain as the lemur tried to take it off. But soon a voice echoed through the aperent empty place. And whoever spoke ended up asking for two things that none were easy.

Eyes narrowed over the stranger. "I can't accept any of your requests. I must have my leave. My family waits for me at home, I cant lose none. I want children someday and this Lemur helped me, i won't betray them." That was what he wanted. To flee. He was done and he needed medical care. Now.

You try to escape- they’re just bugs! You lunge, but find yourself stopped by a wall of buzzing critters. The creature on the throne bellows, "Which is it? Or shall I take more?”

Eyes narrowed as he sighed , the bleeding was slowly draining some of his energy and he really needed medical care now. "I cant give you none of those two you asked for. You ask more than what I can give, it's not fair at all. If my presence for you is such a burden then let me go. I wont stay here and risk something I cant give and the lemur beside me helped me and i cant just give them away. Besides you, didnt gave many options at all. So I wont die here ,I have a family that waits for me" And like that he attempted to leave, he didnt want to give none of the things he requested. He just couldn't give any, even though he wasnt rushed to have kids, someday he wanted to and giving it to a mere stranger wasnt good.

You plea with the creature. You say it's unfair. You say you cannot give what he asks after trying to flee. You say you have a family. Fireflies creep ever closer intil your every breath moves them like ripples through water. "If you do not give, then I shall take, wolf." The figure rises, his cloak opening to reveal a nearly solid mass of bugs. If there was anything beneath them, you do not see it. "You will be returned to your family in one piece," it says in a low, drumming voice. "Well... more or less."

All the fireflies light up at once, blinding you. When you awaken, you find you are very far from where you began. There is no lemur and you feel quite empty. The cavern is steep, dark, and mysterious as it opens towards the surface. You breathe in your first breath of cool, fresh air and let the wind ruffle your fur. As you get your wits about you, you have only one question left in your head: Is this… Descensum???
