She hadn't been to this part of the northlands before. Then again, she hadn't been to see much of the north and she was beginning to realize that she didn't get out as much as she thought. Maybe one of her siblings or a pack member would like to go check out some of the other lands with her sometime, or...perhaps even accompany her further south to see what else she was missing out on. She peered into the cave first, though all she saw was a big gaping hole. There was little to no light penetrating the yawning mouth, and she figured it was safe enough to go in. Nothing smelled out of the ordinary, and the further she went in, she was becoming fascinated by the odd wooden planks that were practically covered and rotten away. They appeared to lay flat against the ground and somewhat attached haphazardly to some metal looking wood that was rusty and also partially buried in the ground. Her Osprey remained outside as she didn't like the feeling of being confined in a cave and unable to see the sky. Her macaque companion, however, walked alongside her as she also investigated the cave with her young charge.

Being 3 seasons old was great! Now that he was almost a yearling, Úlfr was able to wander farther than he could before. Eager to take in new lands he journeyed northward to explore the northern territories before winter fully encased them in ice and snow. He was walking past a hilly area when he noticed an unusual cave opening. It was the typical rough shape but almost straight on both sides and across the top where wooden beans supported the earth. Now that was weird.

Curiosity pulled him into the dark, damp tunnel. It was hard to see but he could dimly make out other tunnels branching out from the main ones. There was a little light here and there from places were the earth had collapsed in. Úlfr had just turned to the right when he found himself face to face with a large, angry grizzly bear. The bear was not at all pleased to see a wolf in the area he hoped to hibernate. The bear opened its terrible mouth and let out a ferocious roar.

Okay, she was not expecting that. The young she-wolf steeled herself, claws biting hard into the earth as her ears flattened against her skull. Her companion jumped in surprise when they heard the roaring sound, made even louder in the cave. She wasn't sure what set the bear off. Was it her? Had it heard her and was trying to warn her not to get any closer? It didn't particularly sound like a warning call to her...and of course, against her better judgment, she carefully went on ahead to find out. If she was the alpha now, she had to be fearless like her father. Right? That's what she thought, anyway. His body was littered with scars, and he wasn't afraid of anything. She'd been wanting to prove she could handle this position and what better way than to go head to head with a bear?

With growing confidence (while also ready to bolt at a moment's notice), she followed the dying echoes until she spotted it. No...them. A bear facing off with what appeared to be someone younger than her! A growl began at the back of her throat, and she rushed forward almost on instinct as she aimed to ram headfirst into the bears face, using her horns to hit it hard and (hopefully) forcing it to back off.

Úlfr's ears immediately pinned to his head, defenses setting swiftly and although he hoped it wouldn't come down to a battle he could tell by the look in the bears eyes it meant business. The bear lunged and Úlfr dove to the side. It was difficult to fight in such low art but at least he wasn't alone. A moment later a horned woman came charging out of nowhere, ramming into the bear's chest as it started to rear up again. It roared in pain, and surged up onto its hind feet. Another roar let loose as it showed how big and fierce it was. Úlfr was already moving in to continue the attack. He charged for the bear's right hind leg. Fangs tore into flesh and Úlfr ripped his head violently back and forth like he did when he was a pup playing with an old rabbit skin. He hoped to do as much damage as possible before he was forced to let go.

She managed to headbutt it's chest which was better than nothing. It was standing on it's hind legs, and as the pup went after its hind leg and violently attacked it, Winter crouched as she readied herself for another assault. Before she moved, however, the bear lunged to bite at her. She panicked for a moment, barely ducking away though the bears teeth wrapped around one of her horns and as it tried to pick her up, she pulled her weight the opposite way and shook her head to free herself. She pulled with all her might until finally, the bear released. But not before Winter had managed to take one of his canines with her. It roared with pain, but Winter wasted no time in allowing it to get another attack in. With another swift headbutt, she slammed her crown against its bottom jaw while raking it's chest with her sharp claws. "Speech"

Úlfr's fangs dealt serious damage, ripping into the bear's leg. The bear was distracted by the horned yearling at the front and it roared in pain from an attack that Úlfr couldn't see though he was silently cheering her on. Úlfr continued digging through flesh until there was a sudden slump in the bear's leg as the tendons connecting the heel to the calf muscle ruptured. Úlfr scrambled out of the way as the bear roared and limped, falling back onto all four legs. He snarled viciously, blood dribbling down his chin as he tried to look as big and scary as he could. Surely by now they'd made their point and the bear would leave them alone? But just in case… Úlfr bared his fangs and then big solidly onto the bear's bare ass. Hopefully, this assault to its dignity would send it running.
