Siren wasn’t sure about her future, all the yearling knew was that she didn’t want to be away from her brother. He was the only one who had always been there for her, and despite the way he treated her while they were young he was the one she could trust. Venom had given her away at Mortis suggestion and Mortis had been the one to tear her away from the one wolf who knew completely what she had been through. Their father had abandoned them and not long after he and Incubus had disappeared Deathbelle had lost interest in them completely. Siren couldn’t comprehend what her mother had gone through, but she should have been there for them. And she wasn’t.
The pair of them had practically raised each other and it was a near miracle they had made it to adulthood, but maybe that was a testament of the resources the Empire had. Siren’s life was never in real danger and she had been mostly fed. But the neglect or maybe it was just bad genetics, kept the yearling tiny. Her dainty feet carried her through the grasses, her dual toned eyes only just able to look out over the grasses. The moon filled the sky with its dull light as she waded through the darkness.
She wasn’t sure where she belonged except that she wanted Chimera beside her. A sigh fell from her pale lips, and her fur was still a disaster. Maybe one day she’d get cleaned up and be the princess she once was.

"God damn son of a bitch!" A snarl echoed across the prairie indicating that some large creature was both frustrated and in pain. Chimera had the worst luck. It had started before he was even born. His mother had fucked her brother and thus he and his sister were damaged. His eye was bad. Siren couldn't be out in the light. They both had...issues. Chimera knew that his sister saw things. It had been evident enough while they were growing up. The random things that she said pointed to more than just astute observation. Chimera had run afoul of a porcupine as he was moving through one of the stretches of longer grass. The spiny bastard had thwapped him square in the shoulder and leg. The yearling sat there now, teeth grasping at embedded quills. He pulled and tugged and a few came out, but there were smaller ones that he'd never be able to remove. His mouth was just too big. Left untreated, the quills would work themselves deeper and they would fester. Perhaps they would scar over like the wound on the side of his neck where Venom had torn his flesh open. Just his rotten luck. The two-toned boy's neck hurt from the constant attempts at removing the quills. He sat there, huffing and glaring at the pile of bloody spines that he'd spat onto the ground. Where was Siren when he needed her? "Speech" |

Tiny paws carried her forward through the grass, this was the last place that she had seen her brother before coming in contact with their older sister. Going to Recluse’s pack had been tempting, especially as a way to get out of the Armada, but no matter what she just wanted to be back with her brother. There wasn’t anyone who understood her as well, even if he was rough and abrasive. She knew that of anyone in the world he could connect the closest to her, as they’d been forced to endure so much together.
He’d given her his apology, and she had easily forgiven him. She sought him out now, and as his voice echoed across the plains her direction changed. The girl didn’t venture out into the daylight anymore, but that was one reason her hedgehog was perfect. The tiny spiny creature was as pallid as she was, but also just as nocturnal. It trotted along beside her on tiny legs and the pair of them were quick to find Chimera and his misery.
The smell of blood was first to greet her as the slip of a she wolf emerged from the grasses. The pile of quills and the few still sticking out of him made obvious his affliction. A smirk played on her sweet lips as she closed the distance between them and lowered herself to her haunches at his wounded side. ”Always in the wrong place at the wrong time.” She spoke softly before leaning forward to help work the quills out of his flesh.

The boy growled low as his sister approached, her words making his ears tuck back momentarily. Though he growled at her, he meant her no harm. Those days were over. They were different now. He was able to control himself a bit better. Around her, anyway. Chimera still had the urge to sink his teeth into wolven flesh. He wanted to tear and bite and shred. He wanted things to bleed. He wanted to hear the screams of pain. ...But not from Siren. As his sister settled down and began pulling the quills from his flesh, the boy wrinkled his nose. "You smell strange." There were different scents mingled in with her normal perfume. It bothered his nose a bit but he couldn't quite place it. Probably because there was a quill or two stuck in his mottled pink and black nose. Chi felt more comfortable now that Si was here with him. He was always a bit on edge when she wandered off on her own. She was tiny and weak. Anyone could pluck her up and steal her. There was no way that he could be with her every second of the day and so he worried. Worry was a new feeling for him and, honestly, he hated it. Couldn't she just stay with him rather than meander around hells half acre? "Speech" |

Siren didn’t fear Chimera, and though she’d been wary of making him angry she had never truly been afraid of him before they were separated. Even now as a deep growl rumbled in his massive chest the fairy child wouldn’t flinch. He didn’t move either, not even as she released the quills. His words were both statement and question, but the girl didn’t have much of an answer. She was stuck, but now was the time to crawl out wasn’t it? She wouldn’t let Mortis keep her prisoner forever.
”Do I smell like Recluse?” She asked him quietly behind the quill in her mouth. She likely still smelled of their half sister turned alpha. ”Have you seen her?” Siren questioned as she continued to remove the barbed spines. He’d really been made a mess by that porcupine. If they could manage to get into Habari she knew that their luck would change. She had a feeling.
Wherever the girl plucked she would cover with a soft swipe of her tiny pink tongue to soothe his wounds. Whatever happened to them she wanted to settle somewhere with Chimera, with their family or not. She might have been born a Klein princess but she had been abandoned by all of them as far as she was concerned. Chi was the only one left.

Siren tugged one particularly deep quill and the black and white youngling grunted, his brow furrowing. His brows threatened to collapse his face inward as Siren mentioned their half sister, Recluse. Their last encounter hadn't been a good one. He had wanted to fight her as well. She had taken Venom's side in sending Siren away. That was something that he couldn't forgive. She would never have his loyalty. Why had Siren been with her though? The small wolf asked if he'd seen Recluse and he grunted again. "I saw her. She agreed with Venom about giving you away like a piece of meat." His words were laced with a growl. Obviously it was still a sore subject with the boy. He would get big. He would get strong. He would kill any that stood in his path. Any that threatened to harm or take Siren from his side. "What did she want?" One paw rose and he brushed it across his irritated nose. He hadn't been able to get these quills out either. These ones hadn't even been given by the porcupine. He'd impaled himself while trying to get the other ones out. Chimera wished that every porcupine in existence would shrivel up and die. It was what they deserved for doing this to him. "Speech" |

There was no pleasure in causing Chimera discomfort as she helped to relieve him of the dangerous quills. The task was necessary, if the quills were left to fester they could hit something vital inside of her brother and that would not be a pleasant death. She offered him a kiss on his nose after a particularly rough quill, and was suddenly made aware of the quills stuck there as well. Siren wouldn’t remind him what a mess he’d made of himself.
The girl shrugged at his words as she sat back, blinking her dual toned gem eyes. She held little value in herself, what use was she to anyone? Especially their older sister. Beside Chimera she could think of no one who thought her worth their time. Except for maybe Recluse but even she could only admit to Siren having so much value. Chi;s threatening growl helped her realize her value to him, he’d changed so much towards her since she was taken by Mort.
The girl reached up again to try and work the quills in his nose free after he swiped them in irritation. ”She wants to get me out of the Armada. I don’t want to go to Habari without you though.” Siren added, not quite saying she wanted to go to Habari but there were many pros to living in their sister’s boundaries. She could really begin her training in healing, she could have a garden and stores, and maybe Chimera wouldn’t have to worry so much about her whereabouts anymore.

Chimera growled low again, this time from the pain in his nose as a few of the quills were plucked out. He had lowered his head so that Siren wouldn't have to reach so high. The boys pelt bristled at the pain, but more so at the thought of Recluse approaching Siren. What had their bastard sister said to her? If it was anything like the interaction that he'd had with her, then it wouldn't have been something good. Her words surprised him though. Recluse wanted to save her from the Armada? Another growl. "I could save you from the Armada right now. I'm not sure why you won't let me." He would fight Mortis and whoever else came his way. He may not win, but he would fight them.
Siren was a soft, sweet thing. Maybe that was why it had always been so easy to hurt her. He felt a little bad about the scars he'd left on her leg. He'd grown since then. They'd grown since then. His little, tiny sister didn't want to go to Hibari without him. Chimera didn't want to be beholden to anyone. Didn't want to be beneath anyone's paw. Loner life wasn't meant for his sweet sister though. Reaching out with the paw connected to the leg that wasn't filled with quills, he pulled her close against him. With a sigh, he gave the pale girl a squeeze. "I wouldn't join by choice and I doubt that she'll even want me there, but if you want to join, I'll go with you." The black and white giant nuzzled the top of her head. She was so sweet and sensitive. A weak little thing. His need to protect her was great. He wouldn't let her join Habari on her own. He wouldn't throw her to the jackals like Venom had.

”I can’t make you do anything.” She answered him simply as she licked his nose, in affection but also to make sure that she hadn’t missed any quills there. Her attention returned to the few quills left on his shoulder, and thankfully she was nearly done when Chimera suddenly pulled her close to him. Her eyes widened in surprise, but there was no resistance in her tiny frame. This level of affection was a huge contrast to what their relationship once was. Siren couldn’t say that she disliked it either.
The girl tentatively snuggled into his thick fur as she witnessed a change in him, he understood her, Chimera knew her well and even more the tiny princess couldn’t accept being apart from him. ”Even if she wont have us, I don’t wish to be beholden to the Armada anymore.” She was so over being looked down on. Maybe Mortis’s heart was in the right place but Siren knew what she wanted. Mort looked at her like a child but she was a young woman and she wouldn’t allow anyone else to control her fate.

Now that the quills were removed from his nose, it itched less. Siren swiped her tongue over the mottled nose and Chi wrinkled it slightly. Quills or no, it still hurt, it seemed. No matter. Her words brought a rumble from the yearling. "You wouldn't be making me. I would be making a choice based on your wishes." As Siren snuggled into him, Chimera's first instinct was still to be aggressive, but he checked himself. He needed her. He loved her in his own way. He was surely incredibly possessive of her. So when she snuggled, he held her tight, bringing his head down over hers to create a black and white cocoon of safety. That's what he was to her now. Safety. A drastic difference from what he once had been.
Siren spoke again and this time the two-toned boy growled. "Let me fight them then. Let me take you from them." Again, he would get hurt, but he would keep fighting until she was free. Siren would not be a slave to the Armada. Some day, after he was big and strong, he was going to beat the shit out of Venom for her actions against the girl in his embrace. He swore it on every drop of blood in his body.
