Áskell had wandered o he west after deciding that he was old enough to go exploring on his own a few territories over. After all, he had Kári with him so what was the worst that could happen? He just had to make sure to get back by dinner time. He couldn't stand the thought of being grounded. Áskell wandered along the river side, watching the river water wind and churn as it wound its way through the land. A particularly interesting stick caught his attention and he bounded along the bank and grabbed it. He trotted along with his tail wagging proudly, oblivious to something moving toward the water through the trees.
A low growl caught his attention and he whirled around to see a large grizzly bear standing there. His jaw fell open in awe as the stick clattered to the ground.

Úlfr wandered to the river with every intention of fishing. It had been awhile since he'd tried for water living prey and he did like to eat fish every now and then. He was also curious if the meat from fish could be dried in the same way as other meas. He imagined it could be. Úlfr had just picked out a good fishing spot when he heard a growl farther down river. He looked and saw a grizzly bear wandering toward the river, probably intending to fish as well except now it seemed to be heading for a younger wolf pup. Oh no! Úlfr wasted no time in springing into action. He charged toward the bear and bit down sharply on it's back hind leg, just behind the left knee. It roared and whirled around so quickly that it ripped its leg right out of Úlfr's grip. He scrambled to the side, just barely avoiding being skewered by the beasts massive claws.
