Aslaug’s mind was made, she was here and now to do a hunt, this time on her own as she wished to try her luck on going after something alone. And she knew she would have to go for prey with enough size for her to bring down, the calf of something seemed a good idea. And there around the river, she used her nose and eyes to try locating anything worth her effor,t and there she found a bison group with a calf,at least 4 adults surrounded it. This could be bad being only herself the attacker. She needed help with this. "Speak"

Stjarna tracked a path along the Rio Grande. The mighty river wound its way for miles and was so wide it would not be an easy river to cross, thus the trip around. Ahead there was a small group of bison, four adults and one calf. Star slowed and eyed the herd warily and the calf with hunger. They could use a good meal but one wolf versus that many buffalo was a risk to be sure. Star spied another woman eyeing the herd and they moved toward her, calling out softly. "Miss, are you hunting those buffalo? May I join you?"

Star hoped the woman was ok with company, it would likely take two of them to get at the calf and even then that could be difficult. Would the bison see two wolves as enough of a threat to start running?

Her eyes of blue remained locked into the herd, thinking on how to approach but again she was alone, and she would need at least one more pair of jaws to give a bigger chance of success. But at first, she saw no one but another wolf soon joined her. She felt thankful to see them. She appreciated their will to help. "I do! But I don't know how to start, I am an apprentice." She wanted to make it clear so they wouldn't have big expectations on her skills. "What should we do?" She spoke between whispers. As she was now entering on hunting mode. "Speak"

And It's The Stars That Shine For You

Stjarna listened as the woman stated that she was an apprentice and would be happy to share the hunt. Star nodded. That made sense, she looked to be a yearling after all. "We should sneak forward and then scare the bison to get them to run and leave the calf. It will be dangerous. The mother may want to fight." Separating a bison calf from its mother was tricky but if they could get the bison to panic they would have a better chance of success.

Star lowered down into the grass before slinking forward toward the small group. When they were close to the heard Star leapt forward, growling viciously. The herd began to stampede, the mother and calf soon fell back. Star raced forward, teeth latched around the calf's left hind leg as the large wolf brought the calf to a halt. The calf feel to the ground but before Star could bite its throat the mother charged. The black and white wolf let go and moved to the side, trying to keep the cow's attention so Aslaug could finish off the calf.

Today seemed to be a good day to hunt and to learn. Every chance she could have for a lesson she was to treasure it. She wanted any to all the teachings she could obtain, the more different points of view she could gather from different wolves the better for her to someday come up with her own tactics. And for that, she paid close attention to the plan the older wolf gave her. "We should sneak forward and then scare the bison to get them to run and leave the calf. It will be dangerous. The mother may want to fight." "I see! Then let's do that." She said but soon the time of talking ended as the other wolf soon started to approach. Nodding she followed in silence, also getting herself into a crouch with her eyes focused and ears low. And in the blink of an eye Star began the race toward the herd, and like a bullet, Aslaug dashed forward with jaws shut as she ran to avoid bitting the tongue off. As she closed the distance the calf was already to the ground but of course, its mother was after the stranger who began to try distracting. Using this a silent sign she darted herself forward the fallen calf and trusting that Star would get the mother away she attempted to catch the calf's throat. Aiming to end with its life. "speak"

And It's The Stars That Shine For You

Stjarna barked loudly and snapped at the cow. She thrust her head forward, trying to gore the loud wolf but Star nimbly kept out of the way while continuing to draw the cow's attention. Suddenly the cow charged forward and Star was forced to dive to the side to avoid getting trampled by the massive animal. Her hooves struck the ground like thunder and Star thanked their lucky stars they were faster than the bison or there would be nothing left of the wolf apart from a bloody smear on the ground.

While Stjarna distracted the cow, Aslaug dove forward for the calf, seizing it around the throat. The cow started to turn back but at that moment Star lunged forward, tearing into the cow's right side. She bellowed and turned to chase after him once more. Hopefully this was all the time Aslaug needed to finish the deal.

Aslaug was focused on finishing the job, but of course, the mother wasn't going to let her calf die without fighting and Aslaug knew she had to do it quickly before the adult could hurt them both. Thankfully the stranger made their best to keep the mother out while she killed the calf. And like that she took grip around the calf's throat closing them as hard as she could. While she trashed her head to try causing even more damage to the now bleeding neck. And as time passed the youth started to weaken due to the blood loss and in the end, it was dead. She panted as blood droplets landed on her throat. She looked at Star wanting to see if she was ready. "Speech"
