East was Aslaug's destiny of today, always exploring new lands for potential new prey to try sometimes just for the pretty landscapes she could find herself in. And this time it seemed her choice was the best as she found herself before a lake that under the evening's sun shinned like of a dream it had come from. The noises from frogs and other creatures made up to her ears like songs from fantasy lands.

Aslaug noticed that since her family left she has been wandering further and further from Valhalla lands, yes she knew that was her home. But since they left she felt strange, she felt like something was missing in her life, something to make it happier as it used to be when her mom dad, and sister were around. But so far she didn't know what it could be.

She sat down before the waters as her mind wandered through the distant memories from those she perhaps would never see again.

"Where are you...are you all far?... Will I ever see you again?..." She spoke to herself not realizing she was thinking out loud. She just felt...lonely. Abandoned? 'No that shouldn't be the word, it was my choice alone to stay behind...' She thought as a tear started to crawl down her left cheek.

Long legs took the young man far. He liked to travel and often moved at a distance eating lope. The chilly winter wind bit at his face, but after a while the discomfort shifted to numbness. Snow had fallen quickly in other parts of the land, but the temperature wasn't low enough for it to snow at the lake just yet. Frogs still croaked, though they sounded tired. Steam rose from the black and white mans nose as he breathed. He had no doubt that even a place like this would be covered in snow soon.

As Beat moved along, a figure appeared in the distance. White ears flicked forward and the man slowed his pace, moving forward at a walk instead of a lope. The winter breeze brought the scent of the wolf straight to him. He recognized the scent and perked up as he continued his approach.

Aslaug looked upset. The expression on her face brought the brute's brow furrowing. "Aslaug?" The man's voice had changed since the last time that they'd met. It was deeper and rumbling. He'd filled out and was looking quite healthy these days. Much different than the emaciated boy he'd once been. Though his voice had changed, the concern was evident. "Are you alright?"

The time went slow for Aslaug as she allowed her mind to travelled trough each stage of her life. From when she was a pup, a teen and now here she was, an adult of both age and mind. And she couldn't help but feeling the nostagial it brought. As she sat and allowed the golden light to touch her also golden fur, she lose any awareness of her surroundings, and she almost missed the new scent in the air, well not actually new.

It wasnt until his voice reached her ears. She turned her head not before trying to erase her tear with her paw. And upon seeing the familiar face, she could feel the sadness also erase. "Beat? Beat!" She greeted now with a more usual happiness thought some of the sadness could still be scented in her voice. "Long time not see! How are you?"

"Are you alright?" "I am! I just.. I was just missing my family but I am fine now!" She assured him.

The sad woman seemed to perk up as she realized who was speaking to her. Beat smiled, though his smile was a little sad as she spoke of missing her family. He knew all too well what that was like. He had many family members that had died or were missing. "I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure wherever they are, they miss you too."

Coming up closer to the blonde and brown woman, the two-toned man smiled. His tail swished behind him, showing his pleasure at seeing her again. "It's been a long time. I'm glad to see that you're doing well." He and Aslaug had hit it off instantly back when they'd first met. At least he thought so. It was a pity that they lived so far away from one another. His tail continued to swish happily back and forth as he looked out over the lake. "Pretty place, don't you think?"
