Perhaps it was a bit foolhardy to bathe in waters warmed by a volcano, but Tyrian was currently too sated to care. In these delightful waters with the icy wind whipping overhead he was like a newborn pup with a full belly. Any reservations he'd felt before entering had melted away the moment his toes touched water. Tashi, the one responsible for this spa day, was laying further down the pool with only his face clear of the surface. Tyrian couldn't quite bring himself to be that uninhibited. He was 'sitting' on his tail with his paws floating in front of him, his back pressed into the bank behind him, and his dry head and neck bobbing over the surface. Reposed as he may have been, he couldn't bring himself to dip completely below the water's surface.
He tipped his head backwards and gazed up at the sky thoughtfully. Now this was nice. He needed one of these back home. Tyrian could just see himself kicking back in the water with Lachlan and some girls. God that'd be nice, wouldn't it? He'd never get anything done in the winter if there was a pool of warm water to retreat to. But honestly? It might be worth it.
Tyrian's eyes slid open as a soft splashing reached his ears. Off to the side was floating a small, dark blob. It took him a moment to recognize the shape as a dog paddling Righty. Of course the skunk had tagged along. Unlike Zahir who wouldn't entertain the thought of submerging in water if her life depended on it and hadn't come along, Righty had invited herself and ridden in Tashi's arms nearly the whole way. Seeing Tyrian watching, the little skunk winked at him and then paddled off, her thick striped tail flowing serpentine behind her. Tyrian closed his eyes again. This was nice.

Riordan Courte Do whatever you want... Just don't get caught Ever moving and exploring, Riordan pushed further south. He skirted around a long line of claimed land - half of which appeared to be a volcano. He had stopped to stare when he realized what he was passing, wondering why anyone would wish to live in such a dangerous place. Maybe it was mostly dormant? A glance at the mount's sides and the hazy peak made him doubt the sanity of those living there before he moved on, following the flow of water. It seemed like the most logical thing to do in winter - find a mostly-frozen stream and keep to its bends and turns. While it was probably still a good water source for many large prey animals, he preferred to stick with the smaller ones that would fit nicely within his jaws without his brother to help. Riordan was many things, but a successful hunter he was not. He heard the springs before he spied them, and even felt the warmth and humidity wafting and calling him closer. His fur stood on end at the thought of something warm, and he hurried forward to find a true Eden within the trees. Pool after pool of steaming water lay before him, sending tingles up his legs and down his spine. Movement caught his eye, thought it still took a few seconds for him to pull his focus away from the inviting pools. Someone else seemed to have settled in before him, and the brute began to approach without much hesitation. He had a hunch that this place relaxed anyone who came near, so he wasn't too worried about spooking someone into a melee. He didn't try to be overly quiet as he moved closer either - his size didn't much allow for such luxuries, but it also clearly showed his intent. There seemed to be a couple critters floating about with the stranger, but Riordan's orange eyes were solely upon the man. "Don't you look comfortable and warm." Deep tones were laced with envy, wanting to test his company before he tested the waters. |

Tyrian was lost in thought and contentedly humming to himself when the sound of an approach jerked him back to the present. He swung one forearm out of the water to prop it on the bank and lazily twisted himself around to look. Being up to his neck in water naturally put him at leg level but he was surprised to find that when his eyes settled on the approaching legs and he followed them upwards it took him an awful long time to reach a face. By the time he did he had the sun to contend with and the stranger's features were largely hidden by the beams that shone around his head like a halo. If Tyrian had his guess the muffled features were likely as handsome as what he could see. And fuck, he liked what he saw. He hummed his amusement over the stranger's words and then chuckled. "You don't know how right you are, my friend. This is the warmest I've been since summer." He leaned back and let his hind paws bob to the surface for a second. The brief chill on his toes was enough to discourage him from doing it again. Tyrian could honestly say he had no idea how he as going to get out of here, because that little taste of cold told him it would not be pleasant. It was quite possible he'd literally freeze his balls off, but at the moment, as warm as he was, he couldn't bring himself to care aside from offering a little bit of friendly advice to this stranger. "You wanna take a dip there's plenty to go around but my advice? Think long and hard about it because it'll be a cold walk back to wherever you're from." "" |
