Still Growling.
Predator fight

Chimera had been looking for barrels. Big, hollow containers that the weird two leggers had left behind. He was intent on building a bridge from his island to the next with the barrels as floats. He had few but he needed more. And so he struck out to an island that he'd been told still had many leftover relics. He hoped to find something of interest on the island. Something on the island found him interesting as well.
A roar sounded as a great, striped beast dropped from the trees. Bloody hell... another tiger? Chimera rolled his eyes and abandoned his task. For now, at least. If he could get this stupid cat to think twice about trying to attack him, he could be back to barrel hunting soon.
The stupid feline leaped forward, swiping at Chi with wicked claws. The tri-toned wolf released a guttural growl, his pelt bristling. Tail curled above his spine as he gnashed his teeth, stalking stiff legged forward. If this tactic didn't work, things would have to get bloody.

He had no other real reason to be out on this island besides a desire to explore more of the lands close to Ashen and give himself something to do. Secretly he hoped as he wandered through the various areas near Ashen and slowly worked his way outward he might cross paths with Void. Every time the man crossed his mind he pushed the thoughts away, though as more and more time passed it got more difficult to do. Luckily, a distraction came in the form of a feline roar that made his head pop up and turn toward the sound. Whatever it was it sounded angry and curiosity got the better of him, sending him running in that direction. A moment later he spotted the tiger and was immediately glad he decided to investigate when he saw Chimera standing off against it. Without a second thought he ran over to stand beside his half brother, joining in on the intimidation that the split-tone male was attempting. He stared down the large feline with a vicious snarl, his hackles bristling and growl joining in with Chimera's. He didn't know if that was going to be enough to scare off the predator so he started to prepare himself for a fight just in case. |

As seemed to be the trend, backup soon arrived. Plague, family of some sort, rushed to Chimera's side. Together the two bristling brutes snarled and stomped,. Chi's tail curled high above his spine and his ruff lifted, making the already giant boy appear larger. Unfortunately, the combined efforts of the wolves didn't deter the stupid cat. It lunged, swiping outward with one clawed paw yet again. Sigh.
Breaking away from Plague, Chimera skirted around the cat, never letting it leave his singular vision. If they could cause it enough pain, it should retreat. Hoping that Plague would be smart enough to anticipate his plan and keep the cats attention, the tri-toned boy bounded forward quickly and bit into the hip of the cat. Blood filled his mouth, letting him know that his aim was true. In an instant the tiger was spinning and Chimera was wheeling out of range. The attention was now on him. Rinse. Repeat.

It became clear pretty quickly that the tiger wasn't intimidated or amused by their show of strength, made obvious by the swipes it made toward them with sharp claws extended. Fine, he had no problem using brute force if it had to come to it. When Chimera ducked off to the side he saw the tiger begin to follow and Plague quickly stepped in to grab its attention again, snarling and snapping at the tiger's cheek. The feline looked back toward him immediately and tried to swipe at him again, causing him to hop back to dodge its claws. He did this dance for a couple moments more before the big cat yowled with pain and spun around to face Chimera, putting its rump toward him and revealing the bite that his family member had left behind on its hip. Perfect. He paused for a brief moment to time his attack just right before hopping forward and sinking his teeth into the tiger's leg on the same side that Chimera had already injured, this time latching on to a portion of its leg near the ankle. He bit down hard and fast, tasting blood on his tongue, before jumping back again to dodge the tiger that would surely be reaching to attack him again. Sure enough, the feline spun and reached for him with one of its wide, clawed paws, falling just short of getting to him before he backed out of the way. This time the cat seemed to realize its mistake and reoriented itself so that its rump was facing the forest and both wolves were in front of it again, tail lashing back and forth angrily. It wasn't running off yet, but Plague could see the hesitation in not going for them again right away. |

Back and forth the two wolves went, biting and retreating. They harried the cat until it didn't know which way to look. What had originally seemed like a solid, easy kill for the tiger had quickly turned into something else. Yes, it would take out one of the wolves, but it was already injured. While it was killing one, the other would likely injure him further. This was turning into a bad situation for the beast. As it neared the edge of the jungle, it prepared to flee. A few more steps and it could become lost in the foliage.
Again Chimera snapped his teeth into the cats flesh, this time right on the spine at the base of the tail. The tiger squealed, spun and lashed out, catching the big canine with a single claw on its lip. The bite had really hurt and, deciding that it was near enough, the striped bastard turned and ran for the trees. In an instant, it was swallowed up by the thick, green jungle. The wolves had won the day.
