Cosette was exceedingly thrilled about having found a new place to call home, and even more glad that she had a close friend she could easily rely on to make her feel safe when she began to feel anxious. She had been worried about joining any packs, thoughts of what her mother might say if they ever found each other again preventing her from settling anywhere until she met Indigo. She still wondered what the woman would say, if their paths crossed again, but she was more convinced now than she had been before that the chances of that ever happening were slim to none. There was also a small voice in the back of her mind telling her that even if Adhira did find her way to this place, she wouldn’t much care about what had become of her smallest daughter.

Beyond those convictions, she had nearly forgotten how incredible it was to have a warm place to sleep each night, and to never have to worry about an empty belly. She felt safe here, if not a bit embarrassed about how quickly her confidence had faltered in front of Resin after boasting so boldly to Indigo about her nerves of steel. There had been a sense of desperation in her, though, when she saw the stern look on the scarred woman’s face. The girl had quickly become attached to the idea of this pack, even before laying eyes on it, and seeing the scrutiny on the Aegis’ face had made her fear that this home would be ripped away from her before she could even call it that. That it would only be a short stop before she was pushed back out into the world on her own, with no clue where to go.

It was with that in mind that she set out early in the morning, hoping she could find someone who needed some sort of help with something. She had promised to do her best in being helpful, and working on her skills, and she wouldn’t delay in upholding that promise. She was new here, and wanted to make a good impression sooner rather than later.

She stuck close to the castle, not wanting to stray too far from the safety that the castle walls offered while she was on her own. It was pure luck she’d been able to travel so far without being killed in the first place, and she wasn’t yet ready to test if that luck would hold up still. If she were to get herself into some kind of trouble this early on, she didn’t imagine it would reflect well on her. Her gaze swept the area around her, searching for someone who might be able to put her to use, or perhaps teach her something new.

"Speech" || Thoughts

"Speech" | Urasa | Kaira Dunkan was on his routine activities within the pack, border patrolling, checking over the place, and just doing his best to keep everything tidy. It was a never-ending deal but he didn't mind, he was always in the mood to work, he always did. To the point of barely not having a day to rest and he didn't need one. He preferred being busy than lying around like good for nothing, those who did only deserved to be cast away. They didn't need those in their pack. His expression was cold as always, leaving no room for any emotion to poke on his blue eyes. He was escorted by his jaguar companion Urasa, and Kaira his hawk was somewhere in the skies. The morning was young so he had plenty of time to finish today's activities. But there is when he found a female he hasn't seen before. But her scent already shared important information. It seemed she was new here, and well he didn't see it wrong to meet someone new. Calmly he approached from behind, huffing loudly so he was able to announce his approach out of courtesy. He aimed to walk by her left. "Greetings," The jaguar nodded his head to the female wolf in greetings.

She wandered somewhat aimlessly for the time being, not sure where other’s typically went off to during the day, but hopefully she would find out soon. She’d spent so much time wandering on her own that she was eager for more company, and she wasn’t sure where Indigo was. For a while she’d been tempted to try and track him down, but she didn’t want to bother him if he was busy doing something important.

She hadn’t been out for long when the sound of another approaching caught her attention. She spun around quickly to face whoever it was, excited to come face to face with one of her new pack mates. He didn’t seem to be particularly warm in his greeting, and his face gave no hints to what kind of mood he was in, but that was something she was more than used to. Either way, it did little to dampen her own mood. Her tail wagged and she gave him a bright smile. "Hello! I’m Cosette, it’s a pleasure to meet you."

So far, she’d only met Resin, and Indigo of course, but she hoped to meet more new faces sooner rather than later. She hadn’t had a chance to learn much before she was forced to struggle for survival on her own, but she knew that meeting new people, she would likely be able to learn a diverse range of skills. Maybe this man could teach her something new, or show her something she could do to make herself more useful to the pack.
