Hunting Random Event

A hunting expedition has taken you and two other wolves to the far north, hot on the trail of what seems like an impressively large grizzly bear - quite a rare sight during the midst of winter. As your group starts to close in on your prey, it becomes obvious that the bear has suffered great injury after being driven from hibernation during this harsh season. Zeroing in on your prey and seeing the extent of its injuries, you decide you need to take this bear down, and fast... As you close in on it, it's clear that something far more powerful than a bear has gotten a hold of it. Not only do you have to take down a frenzied bear, but apparently you have to watch your back for something that could send an adult male grizzly running for the hills, lest you get turned to minced meat next...

Viper turned her shoulder to others who had pursued and tracked the injured bear like she had. A small trail of blood was hard to miss but when she laid eyes on the creature she couldn’t help but wonder how it was so unlucky to receive its injury. She stoped to group with those that gathered with her. She was no leader regardless of how blunt she usually came off. She would wait to follow for a plan, silent as she was. She learned she wasn’t one to talk, and preferred now to only use non-verbal communication especially with strangers.

Aslaug traveled north in a hunting expedition, one she was of course excited to do but also unsure of how to do it. Now north the scent from a grizzly bear came to her nose, as she sniffed and sniffed, it seemed hurt and perhaps it could be a good opportunity. She had never tried bear meat and today would be her moment. She followed it silently with two more wolves nearby. This would be her hardest hunt, so far so all of her skills would be used. She looked behind her , making sure she wasnt leaving the rest behind. She just waited for the others ready to hear proposals or any plans. Despite her rank, she was still learning, and never was too late for her to learn from others. She hopped three wolves would be enough, a bear even if it was hurt could easily kill them. So a good tactic was key to get this done. "Speak"

Piece had followed the two other wolves sort of unintentionally, but since they were going the same way, he stuck with them. He'd kept his tongue in check for once. Playing nice. They were following an injured bear. A very injured bear, it appeared. The gray brute paid no mind to worries of what had caused those wounds, simply letting his mind zero in on the hunt at hand. He would handle the rest later. He glanced at the other wolves around him. "Any plans?" It would be best to be cooperative, for now at least. Even his irrational arrogance couldn't take down a bear alone. What a shame.

It seemed the three of them had very little experience with how to take down the bear, but all came together in strategy. Viper would look to each one of her temporary comrades as they questioned and thought of how to put the thing out of its misery and in their bellies as soon as they could. Viper had run into two different bears rather recently, both of which she didn’t have the skills or power to kill. Third time’s the charm? Only a second of thought as she would go on to lead, really wishing it wasn’t asked of her, if the two other wolves weren’t even asking, it seemed like they all wanted to be on the same page. ”It looks like it’s hurt on the back of it’s neck. Think one of us should try to grab it there.” She looked at Aslaug as if to volunteer her for the task. Was she making sense at least? Or maybe she sounded absolutely crazy? ”Um, you,” she pointed her nose at the male, actually really not interested in his name or anything, ”I vote you get under it and trip it up. You’re bigger than us.” her head raised as she looked out toward the bear as it was still running off in the distance from its own predator, ”I’ll grab it’s throat, Er, end the job.” She wouldn’t look back to her comrades, taking off at a sprint towards the injured creature. She’d only turn her gaze to meet then as she closed in on it, hoping that the trio would all go in with what she said. The quicker they could get it on the ground for her to have a tight grip at the throat, the quicker they could have their prize.

She waited for the rest to catch up and so on build the best plan for taking down such large prey. She was technically tasting waters from a new pond. Hunting another predator was just beyond the normality for the tan and brown wolf. The rest came up along, nodding she waited to hear any ideas but all she got was "any plan?" From the male that came along. Well, it seemed she would have to try. She took a deep breath and was ready to speak. "Okay, perhaps we could use its wound to our advantage? Perhaps they lost blood, so two of us would attack him, try causing more blood loss to weaken it, so the one left would need to distract them. Take their attention so the rest can focus on attacking. Who would like to be the distraction?" She spoke within whispers so as to not alert their unusual prey. Looking upon the bear wounds they seemed quite severe, and she hopped nothing else had made them. If that were the case their worries would be split. She listened to Viper's idea. "That too could work. Well, then ill go after their neck wound. You two do as you told." Nodding she crouched, trying to sneak behind the beast and when she felt ready, she ran forward aiming to jump over to have a hod on the wound. By the neck. "Speak"

The two women provided their ideas readily enough. Most of the time, Piece would have blared out his own opinions, but he could actually admit that he wasn't the best hunter. He was tough physically, and he loved the rush of adrenaline activities like fighting and hunting gave him, but the nitty-gritty planning stuff wasn't quite his thing. A change of pace couldn't hurt him though. He nodded once given a task. Something in him rankled at the command. But he would have felt equally harsh disdain if she had dodged around actually saying anything for politeness's sake, so it wasn't like she had many options there. He would run in from the side and grab a leg to trip the bear up a little. He'd seen such things done to elk so it had to work on a bear too, right? That being set, he put no more thought in. He was better off being spontaneous, at least to his reckoning. The two women went forward quickly. Piece paid no heed to them, sprinting as fast as he could to the left hind leg of the beast and aiming his jaws to hopefully latch onto it and yank it back, hard, forcing the bear to move on three legs. He'd taste hot blood in his mouth soon.

The wolves would go in a general direction of what Viper suggested, her ego unchanged to the thought of being considered a leader in this hunt. Would Hattori be proud? It was only in a sliver of her thoughts. With the bear wailing and distracted by Aslaug’s attack, Piece would be able to take out one of it’s legs which eventually sent it tumbling. With the other two wolves either on the bear or ready for the final blow, Viper would go ahead, wrapping her jaws around the beast’s throat without fear and her two paws holding its head down to pin it for an easy rip. But she struggled, and through her teeth she would call out, ”Need a little help here!” The bear’s skin was tough, and it seemed she would need more help with taking out the jugular than she expected. Maybe even all three of them would need to step in, even if it wasn’t specifically a blow to the throat.

Blood purred and poured from the wound Aslaug was aiming to open even more, whoever did it made the wolve's chance easier, she just hopped the one who made it wasnt coming, if they did they would be in dire trouble. The bear roared in pain as the male went after its paw, which should help them get the bear off its balance. Viper on her side, had a hold onto its throat, pinning it but she was having trouble. Nodding she would rip or try to rip a piece of skin and fur from the bear's wound hoping to cause an even worse blood loss. With hopefully that done she moved to lay onto the bear's head-hopping her wait would help Viper getting its head pinned. She bit on its scruff to help her retain her own balance. "Speak"

Piece sank his teeth into the bear's leg, although the fur was much thicker and more irritating than he had expected. He pulled back as hard as he could, yanking the paw from the ground. Soon enough, it collapsed. The two women were working on keeping in down, but Liev was not going to let them have all the fun. He released the bear's leg and quickly got to the side next to his hunt-mates. He dropped his front paws down on the bear's neck, pushing all of his weight onto it to hold it down. He worked on helping Viper get to the creature's jugular. Did this thing have fucking armor or something? They'd get there soon, so he kept gnawing on the struggling beast, pausing only once to spit out a mouthful of coarse, wet fur. Skies, this was taking so long! But with the two of them helping, he finally tasted blood. A spewing of hot, glorious red came forth from the bear's neck. The thrill of victory hit him like a lightning bolt. He ripped as best he could at the edges of the wound, trying to make it larger. One last violent shudder and the bear was done. Piece glanced at his hunt-mates, blood and bear fur dripping from his still-open jaws. He imagined that he looked terrifying. He briefly entertained the idea of fighting them to have the whole carcass for himself and Glitch. And his brother's new captive could join in, although Piece was also enough of a jerkass to kind of want to not let him, just for the fun of it. The idea was growing on him more and more as he thought about it. Some men would object to the idea, calling it "unfair". And it was. The women had done just as much to fell the bear as he had. But the Volg-Volkolv rejected such concepts as fairness altogether. Others would make the absolutely outlandish argument that he would lose. That, too, was not even a small concern in Liev's brain. He'd even completely forgotten to worry about what might have caused the bear's wounds already. It being decided, he lowered his head, glaring a little, and let his tail rise for the appearance of dominance. He stiffened, eyes narrowing, ears flattening, and muzzle wrinkling. His jaws opened, ready to attack. He was completely sure of himself, as always. It would bite him in the ass eventually. Probably even today. But that doubt didn't fit with Piece's idea of the world, so it didn't exist at all. "Now that that's done..." he growled. "I don't share." He would attack Viper first, as she was closer. He turned to face her. If she hadn't moved, he'd thrust his head forward to bite her near the tendious band, not holding back from drawing blood, but releasing instantly. It would be more of a warning bite than anything. If she had moved enough to make that any more than an almost effortless action, he would simply stand, eyes daring them to attack first. You can take my heart, you can take my breath When you pry it from my cold, dead chest ________________________________________ Aslaug would rip apart more of the bear's existing injury and Piece would go to help Viper with finishing the job on the bear. When the deed was done, Viper would step back and just look down at the bear with a heavy breath. Luckily the bear had it's previous injuries, and rather fresh to wear it out more. It could have ended very badly if it was a bear at full strength, even for the three wolves together. Viper herself even needed help to rip it's throat, so there was no way she could take a bear down herself and that was obvious to her. The male of their group would begin to speak up, Viper turning her gaze to him still with a heavy breath. But what he had to say was completely unacceptable, even from the selfish mind of Viper. "What? No." Her tone was rather flat, but anger clearly shown through. Who did this guy think he was? He could go find his own damn bear. "We split the bear." As much as she was fighting for herself, she was even fighting for the other woman with them. It was completely uncalled for that the male decided he would take the entire bear for himself. How would he even lug the whole thing? He would come at her rather quickly after their exchanged words, his teeth grabbing hold of where he aimed. He would quickly let go though, just a nip. But Viper wasn't playing around with this wacko, he couldn't just demand what he wanted and then go after her for no particular reason. How was he a team mate one minute and an enemy the next? She would attempt to ram her left shoulder into his own, wanting to drive her tusk armor along the front of his shoulder bone, at the same time attempting to grab hold with her teeth at the sensitive part of his side, where his hip and ribs would meet in the middle (Internal Abdominal Oblique per your ref). As expected, Viper disagreed with Piece's decision. The man could howl for his brother to help, but he rejected that idea pretty quickly. He probably wasn't even in the area and besides, this was Liev's fight. He didn't have much in the way of morals, but even he knew that bringing someone else to a fight he started wasn't a good thing to do. He'd try a call when he needed to lug the heavy thing off. Glitch would be proud, wouldn't he? Of course he would be. While Yuliy was slightly nicer than him in some situations, they were two sides of the same coin. At least that was how he saw his brother. Even if Glitch had some issue with him, he would be smart enough to help him out anyway. He did notice how Viper argued to split the bear rather than take it all for herself and Aslaug. Silly girl. Piece would have to be chased off completely rather than compromise on something he wanted. After the man nipped his opponent, she fought back. Her left shoulder slammed into his. He was bigger than her and kept his footing, but the damn spiky tusks were painfully accurate. In his moment of distraction, Viper's teeth landed on his side, between his ribs and hip. Bitch. That hurt. He would attempt to turn tightly, ignoring the thought of any injury that would result from tearing away from her grip, and grip the top of her neck, pushing it down with all of his might. His goal would be to trap her head to the ground. Blood dripped from his wounds. He didn't know anything about healing, but that was a problem for future Piece. Adrenaline was numbing the pain for now, and he'd think about an actual solution once he won. And Viper wouldn't back down herself unless cornered. As dominant as she felt, she knew her limits. Especially after her downfall at Fireside. Viper's attacks were successful. But she didn't take any special time to celebrate. That was for young and naive Viper, now she had grown mentally, even if just a little. The male would pull away from her regardless of how much pain it would bring him from her teeth. It shouldn't have been too terribly bad, especially through the heat of battle. He came from the top of her which wasn't incredibly difficult for him considering their size differences. Though his teeth wouldn't be effective from her armor, his weight on her would be. As she crumbled from the pressure on her shoulders and still the ghost pain from her maim, she wouldn't hesitate to reach out with her open jaw and attempt to grab around his sartorius (Per your ref again) and if anything, grabbing a hold of the sensitive area, especially with her lower jaw coming close to his genitals or at least the more sensitive skin on the inside of his leg there, hopefully it would make him release her from the surprising feeling and perhaps more of a rip downward from his weight pushing her down.
