You know that saying "the early bird gets the worm"? Yeah, that one. That one bastard sentence was the one plaguing him. It reminded him of the one instance where he'd spent all day as a kid trying to catch a rabbit and then some old geezer finally came along and said in a crotchety old voice "You've gotta get up earlier to catch one. By the time its this late they've already been scared into their dens by other predators." The old man had teased him. But yeah, that guy? That guy could go fuck himself and getting up early could too.

Which was why he had waited until it was noon to leave his temporary den. Sleeping in was just far too good of an opportunity to miss and with it being as cold as it was he certainly didn't mind. Even in the afternoon everything was freezing and miserable. He was beginning to suspect there was something wrong with this continent. Had someone pissed off mother nature? Maybe it was time for someone to sacrifice themselves to a volcano or something. Not him, but definitely someone.

His jaws parted wide to show his pearly white teeth as he blinked the fog out of his eyes. He peeked outside only to still be disappointed by the weather. Cold? Check. Cloudy? Check. Dismal? Abso-fucking-lutely. Deciding not to waste more of his day he stretched out his massive limbs and made his way out of his makeshift home. Not even sparing it a glance he headed out towards the desert. His original thoughts that the desert would be warmer were quickly smothered when he'd arrived in this area.

"Hmph." He grumbled to himself.

There wasn't snow on the ground which was a relief, but there was plenty of sand. Sand, sand, and guess what, more sand. It didn't make for a very interesting landscape if you asked him. He'd come here for adventure and yet here he stood, not finding any. Where were the animals to terrorize? The packs to demoralize? The wolves to associate with? The fun rapids, mountains, and caves that demanded exploration? It certainly wasn't here.

Deciding to make the best of the situation before he moved on to greener pastures, he headed out towards a set of palm trees. The wind whipped and tugged at his fur giving him a wind-worn look to him as he trudged along. It didn't take him long to reach the oasis and to his sheer delight it was frozen over. "Hell yeah!" He exclaimed.

It didn't take him but a second to get a running head start and then he was running full speed towards it. He braced his legs apart as he slid on to the glassy surface. It would have been a sight to behold to see the giant spinning out of control on the ice before landing in a furry heap laughing to himself.
