Rœkia stalked through the battlefield, alone for once. Lukina had been getting in plenty of spars and now the older woman decided it was her turn. The pup was tucked away in a temporary den asleep with her companion looking over the child. It was a respite Rœkia needed. She stretched and rolled her shoulders. It had been awhile since she'd enjoyed a good spar. Finding a suitable place to hold a fight she tipped back her head and howled for an opponent. Hopefully she'd get something normal and not one of those monstrous dire wolves. So far she hadn't run into any more but one was enough for a lifetime.

A respite from home sounded like a good plan for Caelia too. Not that there was anything in particular she was trying to run away from, but a change in scenery and purpose was always welcome. That was why she'd come this way in search of another spar. She'd lost her second battle in the last raid they'd participated in and though she knew she'd tried her best, Caelia had still be disappointed in her performance. It was only reason to improve and grow stronger. She stretched her legs as she reached the Battlefield, and quickly the sound of an opponent reached her ears. They swiveled in the direction of the sound as she veered that way, coming to rest a good distance from the stranger. "Here for a friendly fight?" She called out, immediately lowering her body and stiffening her posture to settle into a defensive posture, just in case the stranger charged her immediately.

Rœkia didn't have to wait long for an opponent. A beautiful woman, about her own age, answered her call and asked if she was there for a fight. Rœkia nodded. "Yep!" There wasn't much of a need to say anything more. The other woman dropped into a defensive stance and Rœkia followed suit. She swiftly set her own defenses and opted to make the first move. It had been awhile, she was rusty, but she was eager for the fight and the violent contact. Rœkia kicked off and barreled straight for the more lightly built woman. She attempted to slam her chest into the other woman's chest as her jaws lanced forward, seeking the left side of Caelia's face. She attempted for her upper fangs to land below the woman's eye and her lower fangs at the corner of the jaw. Her goal was to snap her teeth together to cause lacerations rather than achieve a hold.

An opponent was easily found and Caelia was pleased. The last thing she wanted to do was spend the day lounging around searching for something to entertain her; she'd been lucky in that she'd quickly found exactly what she'd come here in search of. She felt this stranger was an even match too, at least from looks alone. She was a bit larger than her but nothing that she felt would sway the fight terribly in either direction. Satisfied with who she'd come across she zeroed in on her opponent as she watched Rœkia make the first move toward her.

Often she liked using her swiftness to her advantage; in most fights she'd found she was smaller and therefore lighter, but maybe it was time to work on an entirely different tactic. Rœkia charged her straight on, slamming into her with force as her jaws unhinged and landed quite squarely on her face. Caelia held strong, letting her weight fall back as she instantly moved to react. She had a feeling the stranger wasn't going for lasting wounds but she couldn't be too careful. Likely only aiding in Rœkia's attempt to lacerate her face she pulled way sharply and instantly kicked forward and attempted to dive right for Rœkia, her own jaws parting as she aimed for the left side of her throat, hoping her smaller size would allow her to get a different position and manage to hold on to her scruff.

Rœkia collided into her opponent, chest to chest as her fangs latched onto the left side of the green-eyed woman's face. She felt the smaller woman move back a bit with the force of the blow and at first she didn't think much of it but suddenly the woman launched herself forward. The sudden force caught Rœkia off guard as she was flipped onto her back. The woman's fangs latched onto the left side of her neck, displaced slightly from her sudden fall. The force also caused Rœkia to lose her grip. Well, shit! Rœkia kicked sharply with her hind legs, trying to strike her opponent in the diaphragm while her fangs sought to bite into the crevice where Caelia's left shoulder met her chest. The area would be more sensitive and she hoped the pain might move the fight in her favor.

Success! Caelia was rewarded with her lunge by feeling Rœkia fall backwards. Though Caelia had sought hold of her scruff, and she was successful, the unexpected shift in position caused her to stumble forward and lose her bearings. She bit down roughly onto her opponent's scruff but all at once she felt paws kickig up at her and catching her sharply in the throat. The wind was all but knocked out of her as she felt a bite land on her left shoulder. She winced as she tried to catch her breath and reevaluate her next move, eventually trying to pry herself out of Rœkia's grasp and shift herself so she might pin down her opponent and force her to submit, though this left her in a vulnerable position overall.
