Pack meeting!

He had put it off long enough. He kept trying to think of how he was going to address the pack, but the longer he thought about it the more complicated the words became. He was just making it worse for himself in the end. It was late morning when he walked into the empty meeting hall, pushing the doors wide and propping them open with rocks. He walked up to the table that was slightly raised above the others, stepping up onto the platform, but he didn't sit in the chairs. That didn't feel right. Not yet. Not with Resin still locked away under his feet. Perhaps at some point he thought he could earn that right, but not today.
He looked at the empty room for a moment, looked at the opened door, before finally taking a deep breath, lifting his head, and letting out a loud, ringing howl. It was time for the rest of the pack to know what was going on and for those that knew he wanted to provide clarity and direction. With his summons given he settled onto his haunches in front of the head table and waited for them to come and waited to see who would remain with the reigns placed in his paws.
ooc: Due date 5/8! I'll post again on 5/9 or whenever everyone has posted, whichever comes first. Required unless you're currently on absence (or if you're Resin locked in a dungeon). For anyone following the messed up time line of all of the threads involving Resin, Tam, Sirius, and the like - this is set after Tam returns with Sirius from finding Zee's body.

Artorias was angry—angry at the world, angry at the situation his family had been put into, angry at Tamsyn for her careless disregard for herself and her family—just so angry. He had done all he could to try to find a solution for his dying mother's sickness, and when none had turned up, he reverted back to the only thing he knew how to do: patrol and safeguard his pack. While the rest of his family went off galavanting across the world, he had stayed hard at work with Gwyn and the rest of the Hallows trying to pick up the broken pieces in the wake of his mother's descent from power. It had been difficult and everyone was exhausted and worked to the bone. At least he could say everyone had tried everything they could to save Resin. He had made a mental note to go see her, at least one last time, regardless of her wishes. He couldn't let his previous interaction with her be their last...
The boy had been busying himself cleaning up the wreckage of what had once been his training gym, now in a state of disarray with pieces of broken swords and shattered training dummies strewn all about. Ulric's howl rang out, echoing around the stone corridors and halls, summoning the pack. Artorias' eyes lowered in sadness while his heart sank. He knew what this was going to be about, and although he knew it was coming, he still wasn't prepared for it. With a heavy sigh, the Carpathius lad set all the damaged wood and scattered straw off to the side of the room and made his way down the halls to the great hall. Ulric was standing up on the raised partition of the room where his family had always sat and his stomach churned. He was Aegis, he had the right to do so, but it still felt wrong...
Artorias bowed his head in greeting to Ulric, still trying to figure out how to regard the Adravendi man he had known all his life when he was now his alpha, and took a place quietly off to the side of the room by the fireplace. He didn't want to be here, he didn't want to be having this conversation, but it had to be had. Art didn't say a word while he simply sat and watched while the other Hallowed wolves began to filter their way in to the meeting.

Being the reserved and introverted wolf he was, he often expend his time doing his things, patrolling on solitary, and doing things that didn't connect him with others from his pack. And that means he barely knew what happened unless he heard them from others unintendedly. But that was unlike to happen or at least coming from the keen man. There as he was on patrol, he heard Ulric's call, summoning them together. Leaving what he was doing he rushed to the meeting place, getting to the table. Seeing Ulric and Artorias, saying nothing he took a seat. Silent as he didn't feel like talking just yet unless told otherwise. |

Jane's initial optimism over her mother returning anytime soon, but as now weeks and months passed that trust started to dilute into a more grey scheme. She wasn't feeling well, feeling left behind, unwanted. But her father's loving care for her and her siblings managed to avoid her from thinking that on a sick level. The cloud-coated wolf played around, trying to entertain her mind away from the harsh truth that was just starting to invade her heart. As she played, her father called and she was quick to run, yes run toward the gathering location find him there and some more wolves. "Hi!" She yelled as she hugged her father before taking a seat by Artoria's side. |

His time spent away from the Hallows was unexpected in the least, though he wouldn't fault others for assuming it of him. The other pups that he was supposed to call his siblings hardly wanted him around and he wasn't sure about the rest of the pack either. Grimshaw would be the first to admit, only to himself of course, that he should have tried harder with the other pups and packmates. Of course, he wasn't even certain that would've gotten him anywhere. He was the black sheep of the family and he wouldn't blame anyone should they not have accepted him had he actually tried.
Although his absence from the hallows had been for a few months, Grimshaw found himself close to the border of the pack to hear Ulric's call from the castle. It struck him as a little odd to hear Ulric calling for a pack meeting, but the man was of a high rank when he left so perhaps calling a meeting every now and then was something he did. Grimshaw had hardly a reason to assume anything had changed, but figured that since he was close and a meeting was being called, he should attend. Perhaps maybe it was time to force himself to be better for the pack. Maybe try to become friends with a few of the pups he called siblings. Maybe find his place within the pack.
Grimshaw sighed and trekked towards the sound of the call, slipping through the castle doors and into the meeting hall. Ulric sat at the front with Artorias, Dunkan, and Jane nearby waiting for the rest to arrive. He thought it was a bit strange that Tamsyn and Resin weren't there, but again, assumed that perhaps this was a meeting for Ulric alone. Perhaps something about training or some minor announcements that they tasked him with instead. Carefully, hoping to not draw attention to himself, the massive young man found a place at the edge of the meeting hall to sit and wait, keeping to himself.

Like her father said, Lilith was getting stronger everyday. That didn’t mean her progress was quantifiable, but it was happening. The small silver marked girl managed to get herself up and ready when her father called. He trusted her enough to get herself to the meeting on her own and she wouldn’t let him down. She was mostly hidden away from the pack and the events ongoing within, but this would be the first real day she was out of the shadows. Lilith existed and she wasn’t going to wither away any longer. Her body was gaining strength just as she was building her confidence. In herself and the fact that her family wouldn’t easily leave her. Not like her mother.
Pale thin paws carried her down the corridor towards the meeting hall, her steps cautious as she wobbled lightly with each step. Progress was being made but the lingering effects of her illness remained obvious. Lil stepped carefully through the threshold, her delicate muzzle lifting as garnet gaze took in the ancient stone room. She picked her way closer to Ulric, much more quiet and subdued than her sibling as she sat close beside her father. Lowering her spotted haunches to the ground while taking in everything around her.

Sota was admittedly out of the loop when it came to the personal lives of most of his packmates, though that was more due to his introversion and respectful nature rather than his lack of interest. He made a point to be diligent and prepared whenever he was needed, but beyond that he wasn't the type to pry. He did want to be informed on matters that involved him though, so when Ulric called he didn't hesitate to be summoned. He had no clue what he might be calling for - it did seem unusual that it wasn't Resin nor Tamsyn calling, but he didn't pay much mind to it. Instead he simply made his way toward the castle and slipping into the meeting room, searching for a more familiar face to sit beside - like Aranea or Duchess, maybe - but neither were here. He'd spent some time with Dunkan recently too, so he gravitated toward him, offering him a friendly smile as he sunk down to his hindquarters and waited for the meeting to begin. He couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong; the aura he was getting from some wolves seemed somber at best, but he'd wait to reserve judgment until Ulric spoke to them.
