Ba ba big sheep
Alastor - hunting dall sheep
05-03-2021, 08:13 PM
Manea worked her way across the rocky cliffs of the mountain side, her aqua gaze set on a herd of dall sheep that were milling about. She had seen a few traces of them the last time they were up here in the caves of the Dreamer's Col and then needed to put dinner on the table, so to speak, so they seemed like prime candidates to her. She found a larger, more stable section of rock for them to stop on, creeping toward the edge of the cliff and peeking down at the sheep that waited below them. Glancing over her shoulder at Alastor, she gave him a grin and asked him quietly, "Well, what do you think, master hunter? How should we go about this?" Crush them, chase them off a cliff, sneak up on them the old fashion way... As long as one of them ended up dead she'd be fine with it in the end.

Following quietly behind her, the massive black shadow of a wolf mimicked her movements across the rocky crags and cliff sides of the mountains. When they had set out, Alastor hadn't been sure what they were hunting, until he saw the herd ofd all sheep grazing on the scarce grass around the cliff edges. Recognition lit up his colorless eyes, and his signature grin made its way across his lips to reveal rows of dagger-like teeth. Ah, so they were going grocery shopping for mutton, it seemed! Following her lead, Alastor crept low to the ground until the two wolves had reached the edge of the alcove just above where the sheep hung about, oblivious to the imminent danger lurking literally overhead.
Manea asked how he wanted to approach their prey, and Alastor tapped a paw against his chin, humming while he considered their options. The cliffs did pose a number of hazards to use to their advantage. Crushing them with the rocks would be out of the question; far too messy and risked ruining all the good meat and wool. Traditional hunting methods would be the most effective, but also the most time consuming given the terrain. "Well, I am quite keen on traditional methods... but I have a twist!" he whispered excitedly. "We'll approach from either side of the cliff and herd them back and forth to one another. The dumb animals should bounce back and forth between us, allowing us to kill at least one each, maybe more." Plenty of meat, plenty of wool to furnish the den with. It was a win-win in his book!
"I'll head down to the left side, you take position on the right. When you're ready, you sound the charge," he said, reaching over to place a slow lick behind Manea's ear with a chuckle. "I'll see you down there, my little galaxy." Crawling off back the way they came, Alastor worked his way carefully down the craggy rock face until he had reached the ledge where the sheep were, dropping low and creeping closer and closer until he saw the animals again just head. He took his place behind a boulder, keeping hungry black eyes locked on their prey while he waited for Manea to kick off their hunt and send the woolly beats running straight for him.

Manea bit back a laugh when Alastor told her that he had a twist, the enthusiasm he interjected always amusing her to no end. It always made her that much more excited to participate in whatever they were doing. A wide grin pulled at her lips at his idea, already imagining the sheep bouncing back and forth like pin balls as they tried to escape their inevitable faces. They were sure to get more than one, especially since each of them could grab one from either end of the herd before the dumb animals figured out how to get away. That would keep their whole party fed for quite a while and would give her plenty of wool and hide to continue fleshing out their new home. Nodding when he gave the directive for him to go one way and her the other, she was about to begin the process of picking her way down the mountain side until his teasing lick on her ear surprised her and pulled a low, rumbling murr from her. She shot him a sly grin over her shoulder, her tail swishing to flick against his side "See you down there, my demon," she agreed, though she was sorely tempted to ignore the sheep entirely to hunt him instead.
She carefully made her way down along the mountain till she was along the same ridge that the sheep were lingering about, mildly jealous of how easy it was for them to climb and move around the rocky terrain. She hid for a moment behind an cluster of larger rocks, peeking over to the other side of the ridge till she saw the black and red form of her lover creep past and hide behind a bolder. Manea smirked and waited for just a moment to make sure the sheep hadn't noticed their presence before springing over her hiding place with a loud snarl ripping from her, a wicked grin pulling at her lips. She snarled and snapped at the prey animals, charging forward to get them running down the ridge toward where Alastor laid in wait, eager to see him at work.

Like a bolt of beautiful amethyst lightning, Alastor watched while Manea lunged out at the herd of sheep, snarling and gnashing her fangs at them like a wild animal. His grin widened and he had to stifle a laugh while he watched her go buck wild. It was amusing, but highly effective! The sheep freaked out, the herd immediately turning and bounding for him as fast as their legs could carry them. It was the same strategy he had used to hunt with Seraphina before, and it was one of his favorites: the ambush. As soon as the lead ram was approaching his boulder, Alastor sprung with almost feline-like grace to the top of the boulder, a violent snarl erupting from his chest while the big black brute launched himself like a missile at the lead ram. Fangs and claws caught the prey animal in the throat and took it down with startling ease, its panicked bleating lasting for only a split second before, with a crunch of his jaws, delicate vertebrae popped in his bite and the animal went limp with a flail of its limbs.
With his first kill secured, Alastor fixed the rest of the skittish herd with his deadly black gaze. One sheep was smart enough to continue to run past the predator; that sheep would get to live. The rest immediately bleated louder in fear and turned to bound away from him—forgetting the other wolf behind them until they were almost upon Manea. Alastor chuckled under his breath and dropped the dead sheep, its blood dripping from sharp fangs while he charged after the herd with a macabre smile on his face. All he had to do was keep bouncing the sheep back and forth between his lover until they either wisened up and made a break for it or hurled themselves off the cliff, whichever came first. Now it was her turn to bag a kill.

Manea drove the sheep forward toward their inevitable demise until Alastor crested the boulder like the most handsome god of death and halted the frightened animals with a vicious snarl of his own. She stood back and enjoyed the show for a moment with a grin on her lips as he leapt toward the ram leading the herd, ending its life swiftly with a deadly and effective crunch of its neck. Her aqua gaze rested on her soul mate with a hunger that had nothing to do with the sheep he had just brought down for them. She loved the way he looked with blood dripping from his muzzle, playing off the vibrant red markings that made him so incredibly striking.
With the stupid sheep running back toward her, she fixed her eyes on the closest one to her, watching with amusement as they were blinded by their own fear and came running right back the way they came. A couple of them toward the back of the herd seemed to catch on to the situation and managed to scrabble their way up the steep rock face and get themselves out of reach, but the last few came straight toward her and fell right into her trap. She made quick work of her target, lunging forward to hook her claws into the upper parts of its shoulders, yanking it to the ground with a snarl and latching her jaws onto his throat. With a savage bite and twist of her head this one faced the same fate as the ram at Alastor's feet, going limp in her grasp.
She chuckled and dropped the sheep to the side, looking up at the two remaining sheep that were cowering between the two of them, bleating and panicking. She grinned, swiping her tongue over her bloodied muzzle. "What do you think, darling? Shall we let them run or double our kills?" She was perfectly content with either option. Her attention was already far away from the hunt and instead fixed on the dark brute ahead of her.

Watching Manea at work was like watching an artist create. The deft way her paws carried her svelte body into a graceful lunge for the closest sheep was nothing short of entertaining to witness, black eyes sparkling with admiration for his galactic queen while she grabbed the ewe with her feline claws and brought it down to the ground before snuffing its life out in a similar fashion to his kill. It was incredibly enticing to watch, and it left him with a different kind of hunger in his gut while he followed her with his eyes. Alastor barked a hearty laugh while the remainder of the herd fled up the cliff face, leaving only two petrified ones behind. Alastor eyed the sheep with a bloodstained wolfish grin. "Well, I am loathe to waste good food..." he remarked, then rushed the sheep with a growl.
His target bleated and tried to flee, but Alastor sunk his teeth into the animal's calf and thrashed his head to shred through its muscles and cripple it. The sheep flailed as it collapsed to the ground, bleating for help, only for the black dire wolf to step over his struggling prey and reach his muzzle down to close his jaws around the sheep's throat. There was a pop of flesh and cartilage, followed by the hot gush of thick blood in his mouth, and Alastor tore out the sheep's throat, rearing back with the gore hanging from his mouth. The sheep underneath his paws struggled for only a few moments more, choking and gurgling on its own blood while it died, and then it lay still as it expired. Alastor looked up at the remaining sheep, which had begun to run towards the edge of the sheer drop, wondering if Manea would go to catch it or if she'd let it commit suicide to get away from them.

Manea watched Alastor as he lunged for one of the remaining sheep and could only think to herself how happy she was to call him hers. She had a grand time watching him paint the cliff red as his teeth shredded though the muscles on the sheep's leg, bringing it down before ripping its throat out and lifting his head with a flow of crimson streaming from his jaws. He hunted and killed with such fever that it was just delightful to watch - though she paid more attention to the ripple of his muscles under his dark coat then the kill itself. He was so delightful and distracting in fact that the last ewe of the bunch very nearly got away. A wide grin crossed her face, laughing as she muttered, "Oh no you don't..." be for lunging forward to catch their would be escapee.
Her jaws latched on to the sheep's hind leg and jerked it back onto the cliff, tossing the animal to the ground next to its friend and stomping her large paw into its neck, her claws slicing and cutting straight down through its throat. It struggled with strangled bleats for a moment more before she gripped its neck near the base of its skull and snapped its spine with a hard crunch and twist of her head. She lifted her head and turned to look at her demon with a hungry, fiery look that said that all thoughts of the dead sheep scattered around them were gone and she had her sights set on a different kind of hunt. "Well done, my darling," she purred with a grin, stepping over one of the sheep's corpses to get to him and press her lips hard to his, a soft growl rumbling in her chest.

Alastor uttered a dark chuckle while he watched Manea lunge for the fleeing sheep, taking it down by the leg and then tearing its throat out with her massive feline paws and Letha l claws. For a moment, he wondered if she would let it bleed slowly to death like he had done, but Manea turned out to be more merciful than him, ending its existence with a swift snap of its neck. The sound of bones separating sent a pleasant chill down his spine, making his fur bristle along its path. Perhaps Manea just had an affinity for breaking necks; regardless, it was effective and efficient.
He watched while she lifted her gaze to find him with a hungry, predatory look in those aqua eyes of a wolf craving something more than a meal. Alastor's usual relaxed grin twisted into a far more emphatic one, meeting her look with one of equal desire, knowing exactly where her head was at. It was the same look he had seen in those dazzling eyes when they had taken down the prehistoric dire wolf together—and what had ultimately resulted in their coupling. Growling low in his throat in response to her, Alastor took a couple slow strides to meet her advance halfway, his muzzle meeting hers with equal parts force, possessiveness, and passion.
He didn't respond with words, instead reaching a large black paw up to cradle the back of Manea's head and keep her from withdrawing from their heated kiss until he was done with her. Claws ran through her fur to her scalp, responding to growls with growls of his own, that gnawing ache in his gut for her returning with force. Alastor deepened their kiss, tasting her mouth in amongst the metallic tang of blood on their tongues in a delicious flavor combination, one he was fast becoming familiar with and was becoming one of his favorites. Their kiss only finally broke when Alastor needed to cool his lungs with fresh air, burning black eyes seeking out hers as desire threatened to consume him once more. "We're not getting these sheep back home any time soon, are we?" he asked, though the sly grin on his face said that he already knew her answer.

Manea loved that Alastor met her possessiveness and passion in equal measure, their lips meeting in a heated kiss that sent shivers tingling along her spine. He completed her in ways she hadn't thought possible, challenged her in ways she loved. He didn't force her to temper her desires and lusts the way that she had seen so many others in her family do to meet the level of the wolves they settled down with. He did quite the opposite, making those desires roar into uncontrollable flames and not only entertaining the things she found enjoyable but encouraging them. She had never felt more herself than she did with her other half and the way he held the back of her head to keep her lips from leaving his told her all she needed to know about him feeling the same ways as she did.
The metallic taste of blood lingered on her tongue and mingled with the taste of him as their kiss deepened, creating a heady combination that was becoming a signature of their time together. Violent and bloody and lovely and passionate. Even has her lungs burned for air it still felt like their kiss broke too soon and her lust filled gaze easily found his once more as a grin pulled across her lips. She chuckled at his assumption - one that was very, very true as long as she had her way and she was certain that she would. Instead of answering, another low growl rumbled in her chest as she gave him a wicked grin, lunging forward and knocking him to the ground, pinning him under her on his back, giving him a sly grin in return. "Hmmmm I wonder what would have given you that idea..." she commented with a chuckle before she pressed her muzzle hard to his again, getting lost in him on the side of this mountain, surrounded by the dead bodies of their kills.

The smoldering lust for him contained within her aqua gaze gave Alastor all the answer he needed to his rhetorical question. Manea would not respond to him with words, instead giving a growl in her beautiful vocals and pounced him, taking the dark brute off his paws and pinning him with ease to his back beneath her. He grinned back up at her, the same knowing look and salacious grin painting his visage while she teased him back. Alastor gave no resistance when Manea crushed her muzzle to his hard, massive black paws finding the dainty curve of her waist to grab hold of her body while she settled into position atop of him. The hot and urgent need between the two culminated in a surge of pleasure as their bodies met in intimate union, familiar movements pushing the world away from them until all that existed was their ecstasy and Manea. Forever Manea.
