Dead, everyone was dead. Everyone? No, not everyone. The boy made his way towards his "sacred place." Why go here and not the grave? The last place he was here...his last place on Earth. The young brute's white gaze settled on the familiar place. It hasn't been too long since he had been here with his Aunt. Memories of the sad sob story she told fluttered to the surface of his thoughts. Closing his eyes while facing the caverns Augustus saw the man walk into the caves. It felt real to him, like the event repeated itself again and again in this place. Was he stuck in time? In the boundary of Heaven and Hell? No, he had passed to a better place. The male's coat was tassels by the breeze as the fingers of the wind ran through his fur. Yet tufts of puppy fur still remained; the young man had tried everything he could to remove them. They made him look like a large pup verging adulthood. But he was already a yearling...a late bloomer was all...right? With a shake of his head Auggiendollowed after the man in his thoughts into the caverns.
Black ears pinned against the brute's head as he entered. Stopping by the inner part of the entrance he looked at the large claw marks on the wall once more.!turning hisbwhitebgaze to the side of them lay his own smaller claw marks. Then looking down at the preserved paw print in the dried maw did he see again his Aunt's paw print. A small sad smile appeared on Augustus' maw; he still wished this was all a dream. Turning away from the rnants of the past the male went further and deeper into the caverns. A form whizzed by him as he closed his eyes once more. Opening them he followed it until the trail was lost. Alone, scared, broken, was how this man must have felt. Auggie stood still and stared at a dark corner with a darker stain on the wall. Closing his eyes he saw and could smell the blood. But as the boy sniffed he scented another presence, another scent.
White eyes opened swiftly and widened as he turned around. The young brute couldn't exactly pinpoint where this stranger was. Friend or foe....fight or flight....what was he to choose?
"Who-who's there?"he stammered
A small growl emitted itself from the depths of his throat and past his lips. He couldn't be scared right?!? He would be two come winter again! Masked was the truth because fright made it's home in his brain. The young man's black tail plastered against his leg as he backed up against the wall. Fear was replaced by anger at thisbsidden disturbance. Who dares to disturb this place! Who dares to wander into these caverns beside him! Who dares to unsettle the balance of the aura in here!
"Come forward!" he said in a demanding tone as the brute went to a lighter place in the caverns.
Augustus stood in the shadows waiting for some sort of shape or form to present itself. Out of the shadows it must come! And into the light it must stay so his eyes don't betray. The slight breeze had somehow made it's way into the caverns. The area felt like a wind tunnel as the boynwasncarressed by the breeze. He felt safe again and smiled in spite of the circumstances. He was nuzzled by the wind so as meant nuzzled by the man. He was here....he believed it. The man was here, always beside him....
The breeze dissipated as the wolf frantically looked around. Why had it vanished?!?! Come back did he command! Black ears dropped as a small tear found it's way falling down the male's cheek. Father dearest....come back....
Auggie looked up again after hen wiped away the sngle tear. This was hisnsacred place, his crutch from the world. Standing there did the brute realize how alone he still felt. How he wished he could have had what most had. A family, a whole one. Of course he was never meant to be...or was he?
And still the boy felt out of place. His father's side in Seracia and his mother's side in Valhalla. Where was he to belong?!?! He was a mixture of two old enemies. Lovers of the opposite packs. What did that make him? Knowndidnhe not for the odd one out did he remain. Maybe he was his own wolf. Neither star nor night. But what exactly was he? Aiggie wasn't only one ofntjenstars in the night sky...he was also the night sky that holds the stars.
With a shake of his head the young man stood his ground and waited for the stranger to appear before him. And what if they didn't....he hadnt quite thought about that. Then no other choice would be left for him other than to find the being that had wandered in here....and so he waited...
