Indigo would never truly be rid of the deep sadness that held to him, the deep dark hole in his chest was far too cavernous to ever close over. He had a lot of support to get through the tough times. Gypsy especially was in tune with the emotions he had. He was grateful especially having her right now with the wound open and exposed, she didn’t judge him, she just held onto him tighter trying to support him. She was so tiny and sweet and she had been through so much it wasn’t fair to dump all of his own emotional burdens on her shoulders. Gypsy kissed his chin and made him blush with how sweet she was.

She clung to him, not because she hurt but because she could feel how much he was hurting. Having her here like this comforted him and made him feel special. There wasn’t another wolf alive that sweet Gypsy would do this for. One huge dark paws remained resting on her shoulder, he didn’t pull her tight or give her a real embrace, but he was holding her. He wanted to be loose in his affections so she could easily shrug him off if she was uncomfortable. Being affectionate with her was different than anyone else and at times he felt selfish for pressing her to be more physical. Having her so close like this was special, and he was loathe to take advantage of her sweet nature.

He tried to change the subject, to attempt to be better for her, but instead of getting up and heading back she placed one impossibly tiny paw on his cheek. She told him not to hide from her and he immediately knew what she was trying to say. He was attempting to mask the pain from her, but that was not what she wanted. Indigo felt a soft sob leave his fanged mouth at the realization. ”Gypsy…” He spoke her name softly and with gratitude. In that moment all of his walls tumbled down for her. She asked for so little, and despite how hard it was to experience he would show her the raw truth beneath. He was broken.

Gypsy asked for so little of him, this was an easy task, he wouldn’t gloss over the feelings that lingered in his heart. She deserved to see and know what was deeper if only because she asked it of him. Indigo shifted slightly, wrapping both arms around her shoulders as the emotions came rushing back over him. The loss and sadness overwhelming him but not the feeling of appreciation for the tiny girl in his arms. ”Then you’ll see me.” She could never truly look at him but as the emotions he constantly shoved down deep emerged he felt his heart speed up. His skin grew hot as his body gave a physical reaction to the deep sorrow that had become a shadow but as she asked to see it emerged to the forefront. Tears began to prick at his eyes and a soft cry left his lips as his defenses crumbled and Indigo laid himself bare for Gypsy to feel.

Indigo understood what she was asking and he spoke her name on a sob. The sound sent a bolt of wretched lightning through the young woman and she gasped softly, breathlessly as her giant protector crumbled before her. He trusted her enough to show her all sides of himself. This one was a difficult side to show, but here he was, laying his broken soul before her. Who could understand the broken more than someone else that was also broken?

Strong arms wrapped about her, pulling her in. Had Indigo done this mere weeks ago, she would have panicked and tried to flee. Just as he trusted her with his emotions, she trusted him with all that she was. If holding her made him feel better, then he could hold her until the end of time. With Indigo wrapped around her, Gypsy freed her little arms, wrapping them around his thick neck as much as she was able. She held him through his pain, his sorrow. She felt the emptiness within him like some great chasm. She felt it all, and she was thankful for it. He wasn't trying to shield her as though she was some stupid simpleton. He accepted that she could handle this emotional tidal wave. And she could.

Gypsy could smell the salty tang of Indigo's tears. Gently, she raised her little paws and wiped away the tracks of sorrow. He kept this sadness hidden from all of them the majority of the time, she imagined. It didn't matter that he might have shown this part of himself to anyone else. He was showing it to her. The woman's soft voice met his ears and she slid the side of her muzzle along his. "You don't ever have to hide from me, Indigo. Give me your sadness. Give me your sorrow." She gave him as tight of a squeeze around his neck as she could manage. "I'll hold you through all of it."

Indigo buried his emotions in his day to day life, if he didn’t he would never accomplish anything. The pain was overwhelming when he allowed it to consume him, part of him knew this couldn’t be healthy, that what he was doing was avoiding the stagnation inside, but how could there be a solution beyond what he was already doing? Indigo hid those feelings deep down and buried them with the affections and feelings he had for the wolves of his band. Especially like Gypsy had him now, as he cried softly the girl wrapped her tiny little arms around his huge neck.

He tried not to let his breath get away from him but as his teas fell he lost control and stuttered and gasped. Besides Duch not wanting to know his deeper truths they were all aware of his secrets, but he hadn’t broken down like this to anyone but sweet little Gypsy. She didn’t deserve to take his sorrow, but there was a part of him that was incredibly grateful for her wanting to see it. Her eyes were useless but she could see him more clearly than anyone else. He cried softly in her arms, feeling the deep seated need for Aslatiel and the missing heart that left his chest hollow and cavernous.

As the tears fell from his oceanic blue eyes Gypsy reached up to wipe them from his cheek as she held him as tightly as he held onto her. The tiny girl nuzzled against him in soft affection, the action making the space where his heart should have been flutter. Like a tiny light in the immense darkness she acted as a lighthouse to guide him through the inky blackness around him. He sighed softly and squeezed his eyes shut as he breathed her in, shifting from his yearning to focusing on the present. He had Gypsy in his arms, she was his support as he swam in infinity.

”It’s yours. Everything, all of me. You see it, you feel it, you have it.” He mumbled into her fur as he nuzzled into the soft white fluff at her neck. He cried to her softly, bearing his soul and wiping away any hint of deception or camouflage. ”Ours.” She was shouldering the weight despite her tiny form. Together they held his sorrow and Indigo wasn’t sure if he could be more thankful. This sweet tortured woman was here for him as much as he needed.
