Come down, come down sweet reverence

Jynn had no idea how long they'd been in that weird cave but when they finally emerged it was night time. The sky was a deep black velvet, studded with pinpoints of white light. She could hear the ocean and was pleased to finally be walking along its shore. As they moved farther north the moon started to rise. She could see it half way above the horizon, a glowing pale gold orb, spilling its light across black waters. As these dark waters swept up to the brown sand of the shore they were suddenly illuminated in rippling blues, brilliant bright blues. Jynn stared at the water and scented the air. "Bowen… am I hallucinating again or is the water glowing?"

Bowen also had no idea how long they were in the cave but she did know that she never wanted to go back. Her head had been thumping like music for a long while after. Night had claimed the sky but they continued moving after only a little rest. The terrain changed, taking the ladies to a long, curling coastline. As they neared the water, Bowen stopped in her tracks. Jynn's words met her ears and Bowen's brow furrowed. "It's glowing. I don't know if I want to go near it."  She'd learned her lesson well today, thank you very much. She'd be extra wary this time.

Jynn really wanted to reach out and touch the water. Something about it felt safer than what they'd seen in the cave. The color reminded her much more of the lake in the north. Bowen could see that it was also glowing but she was hesitant to go near it. "Yea, I'm not sure either. This looks a lot more like what I saw in the northern lake. The exact same blue." She glanced along the beach where she spied a small stone. Jynn trotted over to it. Using her front paw she flicked the stone into the ocean. Where it struck there was an immediate burst of bioluminescent activity. Jynn's ears flicked straight up. "Hey, yea, I think this is the same stuff. Dare me to touch it?"

Bowen watched the shifting water and noticed that it glowed more brightly when the waves washed upon the sand. She still didn't trust it and was hesitant to move any closer until she thought it out. Casting her verdant gaze to the side, she watched Jynn flick a rock into the water and watched the luminous glow grow in brightness. Jynn thought that the water was the same as other water that she'd seen and Bowen's brow furrowed for a moment before she took a few steps closer.

Jynn wanted Bowen to dare her to touch it and the girl wouldn't disappoint. "Oh sure, I dare you to touch it." She gave a soft huff and a grin. "If you wander in and start drowning though, I'm not doing down with the ship." She did accompany the woman to the edge of the water though.

Jynn laughed as Bowen humored her and dared her to touch the water, explaining that she would not rescue Jynn should this all go south. That was fine with her. Jynn eyed the water and then with a short leap she hopped into the shallows of the ocean as the waves swept back in. When she struck the water a blue glow immediately sprang up around her ankles and it fell not different than regular water. With a giggle she bounded out of the water and back up onto shore. "Do I look ok? I didn't grow an extra head or anything?" She felt fine as far as she could tell.
