Moor To See

Come down, come down sweet reverence
The rain let up but the sky was full of dark gray clouds and veils of mist ran along the moor. All that said it was kind of lovely. Mounds of purple flowers grew among the pale green grasses, that stretched as far as the eye could see… which in truth wasn't terribly far as the mist thickened into a fog the farther out she looked. Hopefully they could get around this pack and into an area with shelter before it rained again but it was hard to say what they'd have for territory once they got around the moor. It could be more of a flat and barren area or maybe some place with cover. "Well, it could be worse. At least its not storming."

Álarr followed along after Jynn, eyeing the mist and the beautiful purple flowers that were still blooming in the warmer humidity of the south. It wouldn't last forever, winter would soon smother everything here but he was glad that winter was taking its time rolling southward. He'd had enough of the frozen weather from the previous year. Soon the rain let up and he breathed a sigh of relief. He didn't want to go for a long journey with his pelt soaked through. He nodded lightly at Jynn. Yes, he was glad it had been a gently burst of rain and not a thunderstorm. "By the way, when we hit the Bifrost I wanted to let you know that I plan to head back to Fireside."

Álarr agreed with her before explaining he would not be following her into Auster. Jynn frowned da little. She really enjoyed company when traveling but she supposed she couldn't keep dragging the horned man everywhere. He'd agreed to help her find the packs of Boreas so she could safely navigate around them as she explored and from what she could tell he wasn't really the wandering type. Maybe at some point she could form her own band of wanderers. Then she'd always have someone to travel with. Jynn padded along through the short green grass, stopping at one point as she peered out into the mist to see some sort of wall erected in the territory. "Hmm… there's a wall here. Suppose the pack put it there?"

Álarr slowed at the mention of a wall and he looked out to see what she was talking about. It didn't seem to have been constructed in the way he'd seen human walls. There was something about it that was different, more organic and not quite as sharp and specific as some of the human made walls he'd seen on his travels. In some ways it was a shape to have the view of the moor slandered by such a structure. "Seems to be the case. I hope Tyrian doesn't get any ideas. I imagine that would be a laborious task." He had other things he wanted to do than constructing a wall and he was pretty sure it wouldn't be worth the effort, especially if it would disrupt the movement of prey.

Jynn eyed the wall with a frown, especially after Álarr agreed that it could have been put up by the pack that resided within its walls. It was one thing to navigate around human ruins but the idea of pack wolves building walls here and there disturbed her. Hopefully, it wouldn't become a common practice. The way packs sprouted up in Boreas there would soon be walls around half the lands in Boreas and she didn't like that idea one bit. Though she knew there was nothing she could really do about it. With a sigh she continued on her way southward before shifting east toward a lake in the distance.

Jynn didn't reply after that and Álarr didn't press. He could imagine that to such a free and wandering spirit that the idea of walls and fences bothered her. He had a pretty good idea of which pack dwelled here. He'd caught the scents of Valhalla but had never actually been to their home packlands before. The festival that Aurielle had held had been at the dancefloor farther north of where they were now. The shifted their course east and as they did it started to rain again. Álarr sighed. He did not appreciate getting soaked on this journey and he wasn't quite sure if he should be grateful that it was rain and not snow.
