Eligos paused at the crest of a hill, surveying the land and his prospects. Cypher dogged his steps nervously, still not quite feeling confident after Kida had snapped at him when he'd tried to peek in to try to count her puppies, but him being there at all was an improvement over the last few weeks. Eli's armor felt comfortable, familiar, though he had only recently begun to wear it again since he'd had to remake it after he'd shot up several inches. His helmet, too, he'd needed to rebuild to accommodate his horns, and it was far more comfortable than it was the last time he'd worn it. That had been during the raid, when the pressure from the helmet against his budding horns had ripped the skin over them open so - not a particularly high bar.
He was out of practice in battle, as was Cypher, and they still owed a raid to Valhalla per their agreement so they - and the rest of Aerie - needed to step up training so they could give a better showing this time. He'd put off as long as he could while he was recovering from the unpleasantness of a combined growth spurt and growing horns, but it was time. That, and the possibility of getting a new member with a proven fight skill would be handy with Aerie's numbers dwindling.
Raising his muzzle he called out, looking for an opponent.

Becoming familiar with the lay of the Battlefield, Gilgamesh crossed a path he had gone a few times now. Muscles sore but limber, he was more than ready to find his next opponent. One day, he would make a name for himself. Having won some and lost some, the long-legged male's spirit was not yet broken. He had a lot left to learn and a lot more to experience. As his yellow eyes peered around the plains, he wanted to take on bigger opponents. To test his mettle with the best of the best. On the crest of a hill, not far off, a tall but lanky charcoal cloaked male stood with his muzzle to the sky. Turning an ear to tune in, Gil's lips curled as his body began to buzz with excitement. Pulling his own muzzle toward the clouds overhead, Gilgamesh turned to answer the beckoning call of the male. While this opponent was taller, Gil was not intimidated. He would perhaps use it to his advantage. Nearing him with a lengthy stride, he crossed the distance between them quickly. "Looking for a spar?" Gil questioned in his deep rumble of a tone, ears pressed forward and body posed ready to move. Whether the other male would wait or not, he would be ready. |
