but is there any tea?

Finding an ajar door in the face of a mountain side wasn't exactly expected, but the faint scents that filled Hattori's nose told him this place wasn't as abandoned as one might think. Someone-at least three people if his tracking senses were correct- had been here somewhat recently. There were heavy scuff marks on the floor, suggesting something had been dragged out and taken west. He furrowed his brows and with a nudge of his shoulder pushed the door wide enough to step inside, it seemed as though they'd had the mind to close the door a little. To try and leave this place as found despite what they'd done.
It was dark, and his eyes took a moment to adjust to the change in light, but once they did, he noted a long corridor, stretching out before him. As though offering an invitation to seek out the secrets which laid within. Would this venture be worth their time? Hattori looked over to Jynn, knowing full well she'd have a sniff about. No time like the present, he supposed.

Jynn moved cautiously through the bunker. It was metallic and strange. Jynn was never a fan of caves and the human one's especially were strange. A few holes in the ceiling let in a bit of light but for the most part it was dark. She gazed at a strange print on the wall. Dark boxes with black lines leading in between them. She had no idea what she was looking at and moved on to the next room. Greenish tile rested behind a faucet and next to that was a pantry full of various items. Jynn leaned in cautiously to sniff at the items. "Hmmm… I have to be honest. Human caves aren't my favorite. It's weird down here." If she'd been a healer maybe the items on the shelves would be of more interest.

Hattori could not blame Jynn for her assessment, he couldn't say he favoured this place either. There were too many rooms, too many dark corners, filled with items that held little interest to him. But strangely for somewhere so old, the air was dry and clean, well ventilated via the many slits in the walls. This place did not outright seem to be a place of storage, like Lord's cellar. Rather, there were signs of habitation, soft places to rest one's head if he had to guess. So was this someone's' home once? And if so why had they left?
Stepping into one room his suspicions from earlier were outright confirmed. The drag marks extended all the way from here to the entryway, suggesting someone had taken the soft furnishings and claimed it as their own.
"Someone has been here recently. They took one of those, from the looks of it." He told her, gesturing to the next room over where a strange cushiony bedding thing remained.

Jynn moved cautiously through the room, relying on her nose to take in scents. Eventually she circled back to where Hattori was as he mentioned that someone had been here recently and taken some cushion things. Jynn gazed curiously at them. "Hmm… I suppose they look soft but…" Her ears flicked forward on high alert, swiveling like large furry radar dishes. There was something in there. Jynn's hind legs coiled sharply before she launched herself into the air and directly down on the nearest cushion, fangs dug into a hole and a shrill squeak was suddenly silenced. Jynn popped back up with a mouse. She grinned, crunching happily on her snack before swallowing the hapless creature. "Ok, so maybe its not all bad."

Hattori watched Jynn explore with a blank expression, quirking a brow as she leapt off and reappeared with a squirming mouse clutched between her teeth. He imagined mouses were the only non-dried food you'd find within these walls, able to slip between cracks and gaps other creatures simply could not. It was warmer here than outside, insulated enough that his breath did not form clouds as he moved away from the drag marks on the floor and went back into the hallway. Though it stretched on into the darkness, Hattori suspected the corridor wasn't endless, that sooner or later they'd need to turn back and go the way they came.
"Do you know if a pack has ever laid claim to a cave in Boreas?" Hattori asked, raising his voice a little so the echo carried it further. It was not something he would consider, he liked the darkness well enough but not enough to live in it permanently. Through a vent on a far wall slithers of sunshine passed through, offering Hattori a taste of fresh, cold air.

Jynn licked the blood from her teeth and lips before she started rooting around in some storage bins that lay covered in dust in the corner. Her slender snout easily flipped the lids off, sending a spray of dust into the air. Jynn sneezed and then started sniffing through the bins, her head popping up as Hattori asked if any packs had ever laid claim to caves. Jynn thought for a moment. "Hmm… not normal caves that I know of. Old human dwellings though, yea. There's a pack in Auster that lives in a type of cave called a castle." She remembered well her visit with Bowen to the Hallows. Beyond that she wasn't sure if the wolves in other packs actually lived in similar structures. She certainly hadn't seen any in caves.

Ah yes, the Hallows. Hattori was familiar with the structure they'd claimed as their own, but hadn't had the opportunity to explore it from within. It was tall and looming, grander than any other building he'd seen in Boreas and nothing at all like this cave. To compare one to the other was like saying the ocean and the sky were the same because they were both blue. But he supposed he saw where Jynn was coming from, to say it wasn't common for wolves to stray for their natural habitats.
If Ashen needed to move a cave wouldn't be his first choice, to say the least. Venturing back the way he came, Hattori paused as he peered around a door frame. Yet another room laid before him, neat and orderly but lacking personality. As though no one had taken the time to make it their own, to leave evidence of their tastes. This place seemed large enough to support a fair amount of individuals, but could it truly sustain long term life? Maybe, but he wasn't sure it would amount to much of a life.
"A pack has also claimed the large Isle off Auster." Which was to say the landmass was no longer as quiet as it used to be.

Jynn cocked her head to the side as Hattori explained that a pack had claimed the large island in Auster. It was easy for her to tell which one he was speaking about, the Forgotten Isle. She frowned a little. That was a bummer. She'd had fun exploring that place with Sparrow and had thought about going back. Ah well, it wasn't like there was a shortage of lands to explore so she'd just focus on finding new islands to visit. "Well, I think I'm good. There can be some neat stuff in human caves but I'm not really looking for anything to bring back with me." Being a traveler she didn't have the space to carry along many items or trinkets with her unless they were essential.
