south for the winter... kinda

Life had been good for Dream since joining the Armada. He'd managed to find exactly what his loner lifestyle had been missing before, and between the border patrols, hunting trips, and general pack life, he'd finally managed to snag a sense of purpose in this world. Still, that didn't mean he could relax yet.No, the sandy blonde wolf would always be in a state of trying to become better, always pushing his own limitiations in some way or another. He wouldn't be satisfied with just basic skillsets and general knowledge just because he had a pack to potentially pick up the slack for him, and so the tall, muscular canine had set out to work on his navigational skills.
The land he found himself in wasn't at all familiar to Dream, but the green-eyed male didn't find it unpleasent simply for being unfamiliar. In fact, the maple trees that sprung up across the meadow were inviting and wide-spread, enough so to make it quite easy to sruvey the large bushes growing up from the forest floor even from a distance. Beyond the Bifrost the seasons seemed to run opposite to each other, for back home where there was snow blanketing the lands in winters hold, out here it was significantly warmer and free from any snow. It was as promising a place as any other to hone his observational skills and to take notes on the territories beyond his own, and so he padded foreward to see what he might find, for once not frustrated at the idea of being alone- there was a pack to return to now, after all.

Rose was rolling in a meadow of flowers and waving her paws at butterflies when she caught the scent of another wolf nearby. Rolling to her paws, she stood up, sniffing the air before shaking the pollen from her pelt. Her grey eyes glinted as she scanned the area for the source of the scent, but failed to spot any movement. Giving her pelt another shake, she began her limp-trot across the small clearing, following her nose. She liked to be aware of wolves before they became aware of her, so she felt obligated to find this strange wolf. She pricked her ears as she went, listening for the sounds of paw pads or the snap of a wolf's jaws on some prey.

The sunlight left dapples across his blonde fur as he padded through the maples and out into the clearing, the scent of sweetness from dozens of berry plants flooding his senses. He could only imagine how good the prey was around here, plumped up on endless supply of fruit -were berries fruit?. He entertained the thought of doing some hunting while he was here, but he knew that first and foremost he'd come here to explore.
I wonder what kind of berry plants actually grow here. Are they all edible, or are there some poisonous ones hidden in with the others? he wondered to himself as his green eyes scanned the underbrush. At a glance it was easy to spot the clusters of raspberries and strawberries, and it only took another moment or two of searching around to find that blackberries were another common occurance here. Nothing suspicious looking yet.
The smell of another wolf quickly got his attention as it came rolling in on the breeze over th smell of the plants. He wasn't typically startled when it came to crossing paths with other wolves out here, confident enough in his ability to survive to not have to stress too much over what could be out here waiting for him, but he still always made an effort to not put himself in fucked up situations. And catching the scent of the stranger was enough for him to momentarily forget his little berry survey to instead send his green eyes scanning the clearing around him. Once he had an idea of what he was working with he could draw a conclusion on weather on not it was worth it to hang around.

Rose came to a halt as the blond he-wolf padded into the clearing , and quickly dropped to her stomach. She observed him closely, watching as he looked at the various berries around him. He was close enough for her to see his eye color, and she thought is suited him well. He didn't look threatening, and there certainly was no reasonable way she could evade his attention being as close as he was. The moment he caught her scent, she figured now was a good a time as any to show herself. Didn't need him thinking she was a threat, that wouldn't do at all. As most wolves were, he was bigger then her and more muscled. She slowly sat up, and strained her head over the grasses and bushes. "Hey." She said, voice a little squeaky.
