Quote:She was training once more, doing laps around the lands to build up her tolerance and resistance. The Overseer needed to get back into shape if she wanted to be worthy of service, for in her current condition she made for a very poor knight. Her muscles had decayed, her body rid of any fat reserves, and now she needed to build up again. If she wanted to please her master, it was a necessary process. Not to mention, she would need the extra layers of muscle if she wanted to be able to assert herself the way a beta should. So far there had not been any issues, but she did not doubt that soon her albino master would bring a jealous bitch into the pride who would seek to throw her weight around.

Well, that and from her experience, war was never all that far away. Nonetheless, Argent found herself dashing back and forth, running between two markers on the ground as she paced herself. Once she did a certain number of repetitions, picking up the pace each time, she would relax and let herself catch her breath. Long ago she had quite the endurance, but now she was a bit weaker, and she needed to build that up again.

The last time Aegira had wandered from the Ludicael lands, she had ended up in a very precarious situation--nearly eternally lost in the catacombs. She'd been terrified to leave after that but such fears had only lasted about a week before she gave in to the spirit of adventure once more. When she found herself on the plains, she was absolutely thrilled by he amount of vegetation all around her. Ludicael didn't hold such plants except for in the plain portion of it, and even then it was grass, grass, and more grass.

Her awe-struck observations, though, were cut abruptly short by the sound of paws beating upon the earth. Odd-hued optics narrowed with confusion and she glanced about, trying to find the source of the sound, all while condemning her ridiculously small stature. Within moments, though, she spied a silver bullet darting about, going rapidly back and forth. The young creature stared for a few moments, wondering if she should leave before she was killed by a psycho, but decided that the satisfaction from her curiosity would probably bring her back to life.

"Uh... lady, are you crazy?"

Quote:She remained paused, panting, attempting to catch her breath and enjoy the sweet reprieve of the break. However, it would seem that she would be otherwise interrupted, in the form of a little adorable fluff ball of white and russet. She softened somewhat, always having had particularly strong maternal instincts. Argent restrained laughter at the child; she knew better than to patronize children, for it was something that she found irritable herself. Part of her wished to answer the little child with something smart, such as ?sanity is always relative?, but that would have been likely lost upon the youth.
Rather, she decided to go for the honest approach.
?I am training, little bird,? she explained with an easy to approach attitude. Social situations often escaped her, but Argent was always fond of children. ?I am a Knight, and I need to make sure I?m big and strong so that I can protect my pack,? she explained. It was the easiest way to explain it, and she was certain the little one would understand.

The pretty woman replied promptly and with what most would consider sense, but for Aegira, it didn't seem like a sane answer at all. Her brow furrowed and she stared at the woman like she'd just grown three heads and another set of eyes, still thoroughly unsure of why the gal had been running back and forth. She understood training, but that hadn't looked like training. Besides, she wasn't with anyone and that made the young wolf a little more puzzled.

"I still think you're crazy. 'Cause that doesn't really look like training, but that's okay. But why would you be out here doin' it all alone?" Despite the fact that she was two seasons old, she was still thoroughly young at heart and hadn't been around much more than just her family, but by her own choice. "D'ya need some help with your... imaginary-rabbit chasin'?"

Quote:The child was adorable, touching a sense of want that had always existed within the young woman. It also touched a chord of sadness, a memory of losing her first pregnancy amongst the ruins of a forest that had once been her home. ?I am making myself faster, so that I can hunt and chase better,? she explained. ?If I make my muscles really big, I can get really strong, and then I?ll be able to fight well,? she offered as well, although she supposed the child might not understand. That was fine; she seemed rather young, and had plenty of seasons ahead of her to learn the purpose of diligent training.

At the child?s offer she chuckled and shook her head, an idea coming to mind. ?I am afraid I have already caught all the rabbits, but how about this? Would you like to learn how to fight?? she offered generously. It was somewhat selfish, so that she might to get to spend some time with the babe and warm her maternal instincts some. She had been so crushed when she?d ruined her chance at being a mother, and for now she would have to make due with teaching a stranger?s child something valuable.
