Eska and Serenity had decided to take a little walk. Now that the world was righting itself, the pair of fae's had needed a little break. A walk, some different air. A change of scenery. Good, easy stuff. No hard conversation, just good company and a sweet breeze. The world didn't entirely agree and a rogue storm pushed the pair into a cave which, wouldn't you know it, was filled with fucking glowing mushrooms. Eska grimaced, teeth flashing in irritation as her golden eyes took in the fungi. "If I never see another mushroom again..." she trailed off. The silvered fae sat near the doorway, though not close enough to get wet. They had nothing to do but wait. From behind, a crunchy sound moved through the cave. Eska looked over her shoulder just in time to see a massive reticulated python opening its jaws and striking out at the two wolves. "Watch out," she warned Serenity before diving to her paws. One paw swept out, smacking the face of the snake to keep the bite from hitting her mate's daughter. Eska then began backing up, mentally preparing for the fight to come. "Eska"

Serenity was starting to at least try and build up her strength and stamina again now that the world seemed to start going back to normal. She wasn't affected too bad physically by the previous events, but it all worried her enough to keep her indoors.

When they entered the dark cave maybe just with curiosity, she could feel a near cringe in Eska as she looked about the mushrooms. Serenity too bit her lip at the thought, looking down where the wound had healed that sprouted a few mushrooms before. She could definitely relate to the disgust.

Serenity was much more on edge since the glow took over. And she was quick to react to the python behind them. Though Eska was a little more reactive, smacking the snake before Serenity could think of what she was looking at. Serenity dove down, attempting to bite the snake around it's body and throwing it forward to get it away from them. It wasn't easy with the snake being so large and it was quick to turn back around and strike, Serenity jumping back to avoid it's stretching jaws.

"Serenity"

Serenity reacted in kind, shifting into battle mode and Eska felt better about the situation. There was no way that they could lose. As the earthen fae bit into the snake, Eska did her best to keep control of the bitey part. If Serenity could keep the coils away for just long enough, then Eska could work on severing the head. Getting there though... Again the snake struck, though its attention was pulled by the bite to its abdomen. Eska took the opportunity to dive in, jaws wide. Her teeth sank through scaled flesh just under the snakes jaw and blood filled her mouth. The instant reaction of the snake was to try and coil in on itself, however. One large ring of muscle slid around Eska's midsection and she pushed against it with her paws, trying to keep it from tightening over her ribcage. "Eska"

Serenity couldn't say she ever faced a snake before. But these situations came easier to her than sparing or more so sparing with someone you didn't intend to hurt. Survival mode was easy for her, fighting off predators to get away or scare them away so she could live another day. Where fighting with a pack member had almost a sense of responsibility.

She was slower than Eska while she backed away from the snake and Eska moved back in. The snake started to coil around her which made Serenity a little quicker in her mind and paws. She snuck her paw in between the python and Eska's ribs, pulling it loose and grabbing it again with her teeth around it's long body. Blood from Eska's previous attack trickled over her face but she didn't let it bother her. She took control over the snake's upper portion, pinning it's head just enough to where it couldn't bite them. It's long bottom half flung about wildly, trying to grab hold of a limb or anything it could to pull itself out of her reach.

"Serenity"

Teeth stayed locked in the snake's flesh to keep them both safe. Both fae's worked to keep the snake from wrapping around Eska too much. Though on her side, she was able to thrash her head back and forth just enough to tear flesh. Snake blood didn't taste good and Eska was ready to have the thing out from between her jaws. Hopefully it would die soon. Together with her pushing and Serenity's pulling, Eska was able to extract herself from the loop of pure muscle. It was all that she needed and, getting back to her paws, the woman slammed her head this way and that, tearing great rends in the snake's neck. With its head flapping on a strip of skin, she leaped back away from the flailing coils, letting it die in its own time. Panting, she wrinkled her nose and stared at Serenity. "Dinner or something..." Although she had no appetite for snake. "Eska"

At first the snake thrashed as it lost a lot of blood, but there was a time where it went from fight to flight and its goal was only to get away from Serenity and Eska. Once it slowed in movement, she was surprised, or maybe not really all that surprised how quickly it died. Maybe from all the thrashing and blood flowing and falling out of it just made it go from hysteric to empty. Serenity eased up on it once it was no longer trying to grab them with it's body or mouth. It was past defending itself.

Serenity snickered quietly as Eska suggested, "Nah," she spoke, looking at the huge lifeless snake on the ground before them. "We can go get something else." Serenity gently pushed her nose at Eska, turning to leave. She didn't think they needed to take the ripped snake back the The Hallows. Maybe the skin and scales could be used in something pretty... but it wasn't worth it to her.
