Surely if Kione could find his own kind this was the pace! The area was wide open just as Kione liked it. The food was abundant and the sun felt wonderful on his back. So far Kione hadn’t spotted his kind but he roamed about the prairie some hope still in his heart. “Where yall be,” the dog whispered softly to himself. The lonely heart didn’t want to give up any time soon and what if a sign of his type was beyond the next patch of grass.
After about an hour Kione spotted an injured rabbit and took a moment to run it down. It was a small meal but after he killed it he lowered his head planning to dig in. Unfortunately, an unwanted animal who didn’t belong in Kione’s plans showed up. The grizzly was a male and in a bad mood. The hell was his problem? Kione stood in front of his kill, snarling at the giant. Couldn’t even eat a meal in peace now?
The bear charged and Kione ran to meet him. A bear claw swiped for Kione’s head and the wild dog crouched down, ducking and continuing for his target. Kione grabbed the bear’s leg, shaking his head viciously around before having to let as the bear spun around to attack.

Predator magnet. It was proven. This time the predator wasn't drawn to her, but it was a predator and it was intent on killing someone else, so Eska would step in to help. The spotted dog was being bombarded by an angry bear and the silvered woman rushed forward, slamming her shoulder hard into the bears ribcage while it was distracted. The ursine bunched up at the strike and an exhale was released as the air was knocked from it. Turning its head, the bear roared at the silver and obsidian woman but she was already backtracking, preparing for her next attack. She cast a sidelong glance towards the smaller canine, silent asking if he was ready for what was to come. Already the bear was moving towards her and Eska was snarling, leading the beast backwards towards more level ground. One could never be too careful. "Eska"

Kione was the sort of guy that believed the best defense was a good offense. His eyes flicked to the wolf that had joined him. Flashing her a cheerful grin like they were sharing a game together. The bear’s attention was on her and Kione ran over, snagging the bear’s back leg, shaking his head, and pulling, snarling, trying to worry the leg as if it was a rabbit. The point was to get the bear to find Kione more of a target than the wolf. Of course, damaging any muscles, getting the blood flowing, and what not was always good also. The taste of the brute’s blood was wonderful.
As the bear swung to face him Kione’s feet moved with the back leg, his tail flagging high and proud. Only when the bear’s paw got close did Kione finally jump away with a laugh. There was nothing more fun than fighting with others against something worthy of the battle.

Together the canines harried the bear. Teeth and claws raked and bit, doing just what teeth and claws were supposed to do. Eska bit and pulled and thrashed, tearing wounds in the bears brown pelt. Everything that was supposed to happen in a fight. She was a pro at this sort of thing by now, being a predator magnet as she was. On level ground, Eska rushed the bear from the side, biting into its heel and pulling with all of her might. The ursine slid to its knee with a grunt and rolled onto its side, swiping at the woman with one heavily clawed paw. No big deal. Prone as it was, the bear was now slow. Eska bit into its lower belly, teeth pulling through fur and flesh and she tasted the blood. "Eska"

Kione let out a high-pitched bird-chirp sound of pleasure as the bear went down on its side. Fern was at its belly and Kione ran about to bite at the top of the neck. He was biting in deep and fast to get his goal. The bear had to choose to struggle for defending the belly or the neck and it was in no good position to do either.
Kione tore through a chunk of muscle then bit into the neck spine, powerful jaws crunched twice and a crack sound could be heard. Spine cracked and the bear would now lose. Kione loped around to also dig into the bear's belly. No reason not to help it die fast and enjoy a bit of meat while he was at it. Kione was after all an opportunist.

Fighting quickly turned to killing and the spotted dog placed a well aimed bite to the back of the bears skull. Eska could hear the crunch and, though it wouldn't have been her plan, she was satisfied with the course of action. While he bit, she did her best to hold the bear in place with body, teeth and claws. Soon it was all over. Dead and gone. The dog tore into the bear, intent to eat the warm meat within. Eska had helped in the killing and so wasted no time in taking her place beside the smooth coated canine. Steam rose from the red, fresh meat and the wolf ate her fill. "Well done," she complimented after she had swallowed her mouthful of meat. Skill should always be acknowledged, as far as Eska was concerned. "Eska"
