The wolf Kotori had met before seemed competent for hunting and fighting.  Kotori chose to roam back to the same area both curious to see if the wolf was still there and to find out if there were other predators that called the fjord their home.  Kotori knew, of course, that those of not high bloodlines were below him but at the same time, it was good to fight with different wolves to learn individual styles.  No matter which was better there could always be something learned in different ideas.

Curiosity is one area that got an answer fast enough.  A pack of large stray dogs strode out of where they had either been hiding or just out of sight by coincidence.  They weren’t looking at Kotori in regards of a meal so much as killing someone else on the ground they were deciding to try and claim.  Kotori smirked at the bunch.  The majority were of good size, though none were quite as tall as the impressively-sized horned wolf.

One resembled something like a mastiff, another some large and bulky lab-cross but all were slightly different and Kotori just saw them in the general terms of ‘dogs’.  It appeared there were six and all.  That meant six corpses in Kotori’s mind.  Snarling he ran towards the mastiff, opening his mouth as if to bite and as the dog prepped for that attack Kotori suddenly lowered his head further, slamming into the dog with his horns puncturing the shoulder, shoving at it as he ripped his horns out.  It was a fast start through necessity.  The other dogs had managed to encircle him.

"Kotori Fatalis"

Fern enjoyed her impromptu hunt with Kotori and the tiger that had attacked them afterward allowed the gray girl to see his fighting style more. He had impressed her and, wanting to make Rudy proud of her progress while simultaneously hiding it for a bit longer, Fern had decided to sneak back to the area where she had first met the brown wolf. Jogging lazily along, the gray girl sniffs the air to see if can pick up Kotori’s scent. She finds it… and more. A grin flashes across her lips and she pushes herself to go faster.

Gray paws pick up speed, sending her hurtling toward the pack of wild dogs and the brown wolf. When she sees Kotori, she is alarmed to see that is being circled by six dogs. Without making a sound, Fern charges into the fray. A gray flash of fur slams into tall, leggy great dane and Fern throws all weight toward the dog’s long leg. It sends them both toppling to the ground and rolling a short distance. The dog tries to bite her as it skittesr a short distance across the ground but Fern was prepared for the roll. Using her momentum to her advantage, Fern tucks, rolls once and springs back up to her paws.

She charges toward the downed dane, avoiding snapping jaws and flailing limps, Fern makes it to the dog’s neck and quickly ends it life. Blood paints the ground as Fern spits the dog’s throat toward its companions before snarling and moving to find another victim.


"Speech"

The grey wolf he’d met the other day was back and in a timely spot also.  She had nicely surprised and killed one of the large dogs.  The one Kotori had slashed appeared to have lost interest in the fight.  Four dogs and two wolves was a considerably different matter than the six versus one had been.  

Kotori turned his attention to the lab-mix and lunged in for its throat but only connected with the shoulder.  Another dog that resembled an overly muscled pointer-mix was running to attack Kotori’s backside.  Kotori snarled trying to turn while keeping his hold on the lab.  Its own teeth bit into Kotori’s fur but between the two Kotori had a lot more fur to bite through than the lab’s thin coat.

As the pointer was about on him Kotori let go of the lab and spun to slam his horns into the pointers cheek, slashing as he jerked his head up.  The other two dogs he noticed were going for Fern.


Kotori Fatalis

 

With one dead and one fleeing, the dogs split off into pairs, trying to work together to bring down the wolves. A pitbull and cattledog choose to try and harass Fern. She moves to keep both dogs in front of her, growling and snapping as the dogs return in kind. The pitbull lunges in first, trying to clamp its jaws around the gray girl’s throat. Fern plants her back legs firmly in the ground and lunges toward the dog bring her front half slightly off the ground. The two bodies collide and Fern is able to bigger frame to shove the dog toward the ground. The cattledog is hot on its friend’s heels, hoping to score a bite while its friend has her attention.

Fern whips around quickly and latches her teeth around the cattledog’s muzzle. It shrieks in pain, yelping and whimpering as it tries to pull away. It rips its muzzles further and the stunned dog looks at with wide eyes. She steps back, snapping and snarling, waiting to see what the dogs decide to do.


"Speech"

Fern seems to be handling herself so Kotori keeps his focus on the two dogs with him.  It becomes easier than Kotori had expected a second later.  The pointer apparently didn’t like getting injured.  A wide-eyed realization sort of look comes upon it and the dog turns to flee.  Kotori wasn’t going to bother with one dog escaping.

His attention turns to the remaining lab-mix, grinning as he moves towards it.  The dog seems uncertain between anger and fear now that its friends are going.  Finally, it snarls at Kotori as if it made up its mind and moves towards him.  Kotori lunges in, this time getting a solid bite firmly on the dog's upper neck, crushing his teeth in as much as he can, feeling the dog struggle as it shrieks.

Kotori lets go and the dog tries to flee but this time Kotori won’t let that happen.  The wolf follows behind the dog, lowering his head to bite into its paw and jerking so that the dog falls down.  Kotori moves up, placing a paw on its shoulder, and lunges his face down, biting into the side of its neck and tearing open the flesh before stepping back.  The dog is allowed to flee with a limp and blood spilling out.  

Kotori lets the dog flee, turning to see if Fern is in need of help.  As far as he can tell Fern has things well under control but he steps towards them, snarling.  He doubts she needs his help but a bit of a distraction might be a nice touch, or just terrify them so that they run away.

"Kotori Fatalis"

Fern smirks at the pitbull as the cattledog glances nervously between its friend and her. With a raise of an eyebrow, the gray girl questions their life choices. The pitbull understands, fleeing with its life. However, the cattledog does not take the hint. With its muzzle dripping blood, it growls at Fern for chasing off its friend. Kotori has finished with his pair, moving toward the lone dog and Fern. As the brown wolf growls and snaps, the cattledog makes the worst decision and charges toward Fern with its jaws wide open. The gray easily side steps the attack, moving to latch her jaws around the back of the dog’s neck. Slamming her jaws shut firmly and twisting to the side slightly, Fern breaks the cattledog’s neck, killing it instantly.

Releasing the dog’s body, Fern looks to Kotori and says, “Fancy meeting you again.” Offering the brown wolf a wink and laugh.
