Her very big, very strong dad had dragged them to the battlefield today to try out all of his presents. Makara was very much enjoying her tender paw pads not buzzing and burning with every single step. In fact, she made sure to say: "THANK YOU!" very loudly about every hundred yards. She'd been tackled more than once for it, but she couldn't help it! Everything was possible now that she wasn't plagued by allergies to the ground she walked on. Breathless with anticipation, Mak sprung around the battlefield with her googles and booties on, ready to surprise attack the first opponent that came her way.

The wisps had whispered a need to train; their steady, insistent bothering prompting Omen to pester and whine until she was finally - blessedly - granted her wish. To the battlefield the young witch went! She was bare of all armor and up for the challenge. The barrows were full of all sorts of wonderful things but in wearing them Omen found herself terrible uncomfortable always. So for now she was shunning all armaments.

She strode onto the scene with an air of haughty calm. There were big wolves wandering hither and yon, but they were, as far as she was concerned, a bit much. No, she wanted someone her age. So, ignoring the adults, she roamed the field for a time. By the time she finally found someone who appeared to be close to her age she had begun to get frustrated. In her haste to stake her claim on that opponent Omen threw decorum out the window and ran full speed at her would-be opponent. Heaven forbid someone beat her to it!

"You!" she yelled, "Let's go!" Her claim staked, she leaped straight to it. The young witch came at Makara head on and sought to wrap her arms around the girl's neck with the intent of dragging her into the dirt.

Just when she thought she might have to bother one of the big adults wrestling around to get her own turn, another pup careened out of the grass to slam right into her. "HRK," she made a strangled noise as the wind rushed right out of her ribcage and slammed her into the ground. "NO FAIR!" she hollered, her mouth and screeching tone of voice dangerously close to Omen's ear drums. At least her goggles kept the other puppy's teeth far away from her eyeballs. Fairness, she guessed, went out the window at a place like this. Makara grumbled and writhed in Omen's grasp, trying to extricate herself and approach from a different direction. No matter how she tried, she was held fast to the ground. Probably time to try a different route... Makara gaped her jaws open and tried to clamp down on the thin, tender skin of the other puppy's ear. That would get her to back off!

The other girl shrieked in her ear about fairness, but Omen was committed. Besides, she couldn't be bothered to apologize on her best of days. "Only babies cry 'bout 'fair'!"she managed to get out before the girl's teeth found her ear. She yelped and scowled before drawing up her hind legs and trying to bunny kick her opponent in the belly in retaliation. They were in the dirt now which was right where Omen liked it. As she kicked she did her best to hang onto the other girl. She wasn't going to let her go so easily. "Besides," she bit out through teeth clenched in concentration. "I yelled first." Because that made everything alright, of course.

Mak twisted and writhed as Omen's hind legs buffeted her in the stomach. "Oh god if you keep doing that I'ma puke," she grunted. Every kick was hitting her right in the full part of her gut where she was pretty sure her lunch was sitting. They squirmed together in a crazy, furred pile of puppy madness. Makara blinked behind her goggles, trying to figure out her next move. Uhh... she was pinned. She was being kicked. Was there a winning way out of this? She couldn't even ask her dad for help! Suddenly feeling very stupid (and very sore in the stomach), Makara shoved her face harder against Omen's and tried to press the spikes of her googles right into the thinner skin of her opponent's cheeks. The pointy bit might veer dangerously close to an eyeball if left unchecked - maybe it would give her the leverage she'd need to free herself.
