Stepping along the riverside, Levi did his best to ignore his mother as she stood further upstream snapping at the fish that rushed past the white of her muzzle. He was fine with spending time with her, especially when she when she wasn't up in his face and fussing over the state of his coat, but standing around like this was getting old fast. If this was what fishing consisted of then he wanted nothing to do with it, everyone else could hunt and fill the stores, Levi would have his own way of serving the Armada. Contribution on his own terms.

With a huff, he wandered a little further from his mothers side. Maybe there was amusement to be found somewhere around here, maybe he'd find someone to fight.

Ulmaria was thrilled to go traveling with Álarr. It was a much needed distraction and an enjoyable ride. She settled down at the front of the travois next to a few hide bundles and various items the healer was taking with him. She loved the smell of the herbs and the raw hide as the summer sun warmed everything around her. When they came to a stop she watched with curiosity as Álarr started unpacking but soon her interests wandered. Thankfully she was allowed to wander as long as she took the raven with her. That suited her just fine!

Ulmaria scouted through the underbrush looking for plants to bring back to Álarr when she caught a curious scent. That wasn't a Fireside wolf. Curiosity got the best of her and she tracked it to a small boy with brilliant colors on his pelt. Maybe he wanted to play. "Hello!" She chirped.

Levi wasn't left wandering alone for long. A strange pup wandered onto the scene, a little younger than him but larger all the same. No surprise there. Eying her with narrowed azure slits, Levi was quick to stride over as though he had any authority in this place, puffed up chest and stiff tail. Like he was large and in charge!

"Fight me." He outright demanded, pouting lip at the ready if she said no. Not that he thought she would, especially when he was already rushing in to claim the first attack.

Seeing as she was big and tall, it only made sense for Levi to rear up and try to match her level. Extending his muzzle, he made to grab a hold of the end of her snout. Just in case she wanted to bite him in return, of course.

Ulmaria gazed quizzically at the boy who marched right up to her and demanded she fight him. Well, she had been looking for something to do while Álarr got came set up. "Err… ok. I'm not very good yet but I'll try." She puffed up as she faced against the boy, her hackles raised and her ears pinned. She remembered to tuck her tail but knew little else of defenses yet.

The boy charged for her and as he lifted up she ducked down and kicked forward, trying to nip at his belly. It didn't occur to her that he might land on top of her, she just reacted as best as she knew how. She'd figure out what to do next as it happened.

His teeth clamped down on air as his opponent was quick to dip out of the way, forcing him to change course as he fell, front limbs extending as he made to grab at the scruff of her neck. He strained the tendons in his wrists as he made an effort to dig in and hold on. It didn't work as well as he would have liked, she was still considerably larger than he was but not quite enough that he had ample space to get situated. But whatever, Levi wasn't a choosy beggar and he was willing enough to make do with what he had.

Push come to shove his talons would dig in a little too deep, sort of frowned upon in a spar and they'd tell him to quit it. Or he'd get shaken off like a squirrel clinging to an oiled up bid feeder. Either could happen.

Álarr pulled the travois along the Rio Grande, putting a good distance between himself and the water incase his tiny passenger saw something that would send her rushing to the water's edge. So far Ulmaria didn't seem the type to do so but Afi had warned him often about kittens and well, kittens… puppies… same thing right? He'd left the old cat in Fireside to inform Jupiter where one of his kids was. Álarr probably should've asked first but he needed to get out of Fireside for awhile and when the sad little girl begged to come along he couldn't bring himself to deny her. Between himself and Brynhildr he felt fairly certain he could keep her safe. They came to a stop and Álarr went about setting up camp, allowing Ulmaria to wander a little ways under Brynhildr's watchful raven eyes.

Ulmaria snapped at the boy's belly but only caught fluff before his paws slammed into the top of her shoulders and pushed her down into the ground. Her fur stood up not only from her defenses but from the pulsing electrocytes in her flesh. With a growl Ulmaria twisted her head around and tried to bite at Levi's nearest wrist. She wanted to nip and maybe get him to get off her. At the same time as she tried to bite she also kicked off with her hind legs to try and push herself forward and off to the side to maybe get into a better position. Though small, the boy was at least a season older.
